It is perfectly stable in both positions. The agility dock allows you to adjust the angle. The agility dock is the best of all devices for holding up iPad securely at any angle and it will not tip over.

The dock works great when sitting on the couch or an easy chair. Your hand do not have to hold the iPad making use very easy.

After receiving this I understood I need to buy the cover (otterbox) to fix this. when you are buying this product you have to check whether your cover can fix in this dock or not.

I dropped my IPad a few weeks ago straight down on a concrete floor and it did not loose the screen or quite or break this is a so amazing I am so pleased.

So you must buy another product to use this product. In my opinion that's a definite knock against it.
