Unfortunately, this broke the first time I dropped it.

Love this case. Purchased one for all 4 of our children as well as my husband and I. This case has saved our phones on so many occasions. Had phone supposedly accidentally thrown from moving vehicle, and it was perfectly fine when we turned around to get it. Also love that Otterbox stands behind its product. Had one of the rubber cases stretch out. They send us a replacement with no problems.

I would recommend any Otter Box iPhone case to anyone who wants to insure their iPhone isn't damaged and wants the max. trade in value for their iPhone when ready to upgrade. Otter Box has saved our iPhones from so many drops and spills I can't count all of the times. Moreover, every time I am ready for an upgrade, I take it out of the case and it looks just as new as the day I bought it!

Purchased the otter box blue yesterday. Color is awesome the feel is fantastic. The look is spectacular. If you had a 4s otterbox you can see the difference. The 4s is like a brick too rigid feeling. The iPhone 5 is slimmer more sleek smooth but not slippery. Perfect grip. I was debating on the commuter but I looked at the look and feel of this one was perfect. The commuter was ok you need a screen protector. The defenders screen is awesome. Screen sensesitivity perfect look perfect. All ports accessible and the ports open and close way better than the 4s I so recommend over life proof. You won't be disappointed. Oh and it fits like a glove.

Got this case for my dad. He works a lot in environments where he NEEDS a case like this or his phone would be destroyed in a week. Excellent for protecting the iPhone... a little too bulky for me but he loves that it comes with a belt clip.

I have dropped my phone 3 times: Once getting out of my truck it fell out of my pocket and hit the pavement nothing happened. 2nd time In the kitchen holding my infant and he was reaching for my phone and instead knocked it out of my hand hit the tile face down and again nothing happened to it. 3rd time I was at work on break not paying attention and I didn't have a good hold on it and again facedown on concrete and still nothing happened to the phone but that time my otterbox screen protector had a small scratch on it. Worth the money in spending to protect your phone.

A little thick, but if protection for the phone is the main concern, then this is a great case. My phone stays safe and sound, and the plastic cover over the screen doesn't diminish the touch quality at all. Good product.

I've been a long time fan of OtterBox. I have the iPhone 4 case and bought this one for my cousin. She loved the color and after putting it on the iPhone 5, she immediately loved everything about it. The outer rubber/silicone part is flexible, but not easily movable. The inner plastic part is easy to take apart and put back together if you follow the arrows on the back of the case (it's engraved in the plastic). Of course, like all Defender series case, this comes with a built-in clear plastic screen cover. All in all, it's a great case.

I've always used the defender for my iPhones and they have kept them protected. None of my iPhones have ever broken or gotten scratched in these cases. I've tried Speck and Lifeproof, but they don't come close to the protection that the defender offers.

I absolutely love this case! It is very protective; I have dropped my iphone probably a good 20 times and there is no damage to the phone or the case. I wish it was waterproof but I am 100% satisfied with this otterbox.

If you don't mind the extra bulk this case works well for shock absortion and screen protection but adds bulk and weight to phone. It is only available in pink or black. Additional colors like bright blue or red would be a good plus but are not available. I choose the pink so that I could see this phone if I lay it somewhere (and I am female so that's OK but guys might like another choice).

The case is good but it could have been made better. There is nothing covering the home button so the dust is getting under the plastic screen. I have to take the case apart many times to clean that. I carry my phone in my front pocket so the dirt from the pockets goes under the screen

Otter box makes a great product and the defender is the absolute best. Have dropped the phone numerous times and the case saves the phone each time

This is about the best case you can get for your iphone. Many cases that are thinner add little or no protection I wish the iphone was more durable without a case needed, but this case will save you from many screen repairs and/or phone replacements. Also the home button is exposed so the Touch ID feature works flawlessly. Also the silicone fits better than previous otterbox cases. Your investment in this product will save you $$ in the long run.

The Otterbox Defender offers terrific protection. The outside rubber does eventually fray with time.

My phone is invulnerable to damage. Case is comfortable to the grip.
