Oura has made the sizing, setup and use of their latest ring effortless. The sizing kit makes identifying your perfect fit easy. You notice the quality and beauty of this device right of the box. All you need to do initially is set the ring on the charge stand. There is a small indent on the bottom of the ring that assist with orienting correctly and it will go one way for the sensors to connect to the charge port. The Oura app can be installed on your phone while it is charging. The app instantly identifies and connects to the ring as long as you have Bluetooth enabled. You will be prompted to setup your profile and the AI assistant will ask questions to identify your health and fitness goals. The AI assistance does a great job of responding and answering any questions you may have about use of your device. Charging is super quick and only takes between 20 to 40 minutes.
You really start to appreciate the beauty when you start wearing. The Midnight Blue ceramic is very unique and has a deep blue glossy appearance. The Titanium inner band is super comfortable, and the sensors are not noticeable at all. The indent on the ring helps you to effortlessly orient the sensors for the best tracking. You will forget the wealth of data the ring is collecting with how comfortable and stylish the ring looks and feels. Tracking of your body temperature, heartrate, steps, activity and sleep are very accurate. You receive a detailed daily summary and suggestions on goals for the current day. You step count goal adjusts based upon your readiness and how well rested you are and recent activity. You can manually add events to your timeline, but it automatically tracks all key metabolic events. It can sync to Apple Fitness, Samsung Fitness or Strava for automatic connecting to activity on these apps as well. I like I can leave my phone at home when going on walks / jogs and the ring stores my data and imports the details activity data (distance, map routes, etc.) directly from fitness watch / phone. There is a 30-day subscription included, and you will need to subscribe for $5.99 per month to get all the benefits of the AI assistant. I believe this is a great value for all the data and insights that are provided to interpret the data. If you are looking to effortlessly track your health and activity data, the Oura ring is great option. The Ring 4 Ceramic will also get you an appealing fashion accessory that you will enjoy wearing on a daily basis. I have no problem wearing 24 / 7 and was able to get a full week on a charge. I would have been able to go even longer, but Oura recommends charging around 30% for better battery life. I highly recommend and you if know someone that currently has a ring, that can send you a referral and get an extra 10% of the already value price.

The Oura ring is quite impressive. I’ve used watches and bands before but I really think this is the way to go. I was skeptical at first but I absolutely love it.
Build quality is amazing. I lift weights 5 days a week and I haven’t had any issues with scratches on the ceramic or anything yet. I mainly use machines at the gym that typically have plastic, rubber or foam handles so that may be why. I’m a little nervous to put it up against a steel/metal dumbbell or barbell. That being said, I think if you use gloves, you won’t have to worry about it. I also was able to get a polishing cloth sent by Oura for free but I haven’t had to use it yet.
Setup was quick and easy and the app is very intuitive and easy to use. I enjoy using it. It’s a little overwhelming with all the different tabs, features, and options but once you go through it a couple of times it’s easy to get the hang of. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve discovered everything it has to offer because each time I go through the app, I learn something new.
It is very comfortable. I don’t like to wear anything. Not watches, not rings, bands or anything. I just find it more comfortable to wear nothing but this ring is surprisingly comfortable. They say it’s a little thicker than the metal Oura rings but you get used to it. Or at least I did. It doesn’t bother me at all to wear it all day and night. I really wanted it to keep track of my sleep so I was a bit worried about comfort and wearing it at night but I’ve been wearing it for over a week and have no complaints on comfort at all.
I wear a smart watch as well and I can tell the statistics of the ring appear to be very accurate. Especially the sleep metrics. I know when I have a bad nights sleep and every time, the Oura ring has been spot on letting me know I had a bad nights sleep and why. It’s also very accurate when I’ve had a good nights sleep. Activity, workouts, everything. The health metrics appear to be very accurate.
Battery life is great. I will typically charge it when I take a shower or need to take it off to do something and don’t want to get it dirty or scratch it. It charges very fast. I’ve been able to wear it pretty much all day everyday with no battery issues by using this routine.
Overall I feel like this is a great investment if you are wanting to track your health metrics and do it comfortably. I like the ring for this because it’s a no distraction, almost invisible way to track your health. It’s the only purpose. I don’t get texts or email alerts with it. It’s sole purpose is to track your health. I highly recommend it!

I took some time writing this review because the Oura Ring 4 has a lot to offer, and I wanted to make sure I experienced as much of it as I could before I submitted this review. To start. I wanted to address the initial question that I had about this product. My question being is the price worth the cost? After using it for several days, the answer to this question I came to is an unequivocal YES!. I absolutely love the Oura Ring 4. It is so worth the cost. It looks and feels great on my hand. In addition to the attractive finish, the performance is likewise great. It does everything a smart watch or fitness band does, but in a much smaller form factor. I highly recommend this product to anyone that is looking for the features it provides and enjoys wearing rings.
The product that I am reviewing is the Oura Ring 4 2025 version. The device packaging is simple and easy to open. In the package is the ring and the charging cradle. Make sure you don't throw the cradle away because without it the ring can't be charged. Likewise make sure you don't misplace the cradle. Download the Oura App to set up the ring for use. The App walks you through the setup process and explains the ring and App features. An email address is required to complete the setup and create an account.
After the ring was paired to my iPhone I just wore the ring and forgot about it. After a while I checked the App and was greeted with a nice assortment of features to dive into and get information about myself and my daily activities. I have a few smart watches and found that the information provided is similar to what I get from a smart watch. One thing I especially liked was that I was not bombarded by notifications. I set a few areas to get notifications from and was subtly reminded that it was: time to get up and stretch my legs or that bedtime was approaching.
One area that I was looking forward to testing was how well the Oura ring tracked my sleep. I made sure to check it in the morning for the first few days to see what the results would be. The first day it tracked and rated my sleep quality very accurately. It consistently not only measured my sleep times, but it also rated my sleep quality and perfectly separated the various stages of sleep.
During the course of the week I checked my body measurements and was able to track my heart rate and exercise levels. I compared the Oura Ring measurements to my smart watch and found the results to match well. I have a high degree of confidence in the Oura Riing 4 and the readings it provides.
I strongly recommend getting the Oura sizing kit if you are seriously considering this product. It helped me size the ring perfectly, and I chose a size that would allow me to wear it on several fingers on both hands.
The ring is ceramic and feels very light weight. If you are used to wearing rings you will barely notice that it is there. It has a stylish look to it and I love how it looks and feels on my hand. After wearing it for about a week I have not noticed any scratches or damage to the ring surface from the occasional scrape or hit. So far the finish is holding up quite well. It is water resistant and I showered with it every day and the ring was completely unaffected by the shower water.
After I set up the App, I received an offer from Oura for a free ceramic cleaning pad. I accepted the offer and received the cleaning pad in a few days. Included with the ring is a 1 month of free service. After that a monthly subscription fee will apply to use some of the rings features. I am still in the full service phase, so I can not comment intelligently on how well the App functions after the free trial expires.
After using the Oura Ring 4 for about a week I can say that I absolutely love it! It has an attractive finish that goes well with any outfit and in any environment. I especially like that I can choose to not wear my smart watch and wear this product instead in situations where I don't want to wear a watch. Yes it is expensive, but in my opinion well worth the price. I have been wearing this ring constantly since I received it, and plan to continue doing so. That vote of confidence in of itself, should completely relay my complete satisfaction with the Oura Ring 4.
Bulky, compact tech (and good data w/subscription)

I was curious about the Oura ring and had the opportunity to test the ceramic version. I selected the midnight color. I wish that I’d selected cloud instead of midnight. With the shine of the ceramic, the blue isn’t as deep as I’d hoped, but it’s not bright, so it’s a dark blue still.
The ring is a bit bulky to me, but generally is comfortable. I have sensitive skin and it hasn’t bothered my skin, even wearing it pretty much 24/7 for a week, in the shower, to sleep, etc.
I like that the ring is simple to wear for sleep tracking. It’s then easy to keep it on so that I don’t have to slip on my watch and get my watchband sweaty for my morning workout to be able to track my calories burned. The app has shown when it thinks I’ve worked out (I have elliptical marked as an activity that I usually do), and allowed me to edit it if I needed to before confirming the activity (once I did need to edit it, as it had my workout 20 minutes too long). It even recognized my yard work as yard work. One of the reasons I was curious about a ring as a tracker was for this, as I don’t wear my smart watch to do yard work or other sweaty outdoorsy stuff, and I’ve been curious about how many calories I burn.
The data I get on sleep includes the different stages of sleep as well as awake time, and the ring was pretty good at recognizing my bedtimes and wake up. I liked that I could see when I was restless and had oxygen drops, and that it gives you a notice about issues. It tells you (note: you must have the subscription) total sleep, efficiency, resting heart rate, restfulness, latency, and the time in each stage of sleep. While you get your average oxygen saturation, I wish that it would show more detail and match up my oxygen levels to when it said I had variations, so I could see what kind of drop I had, and what my other stats were at the time.
While Oura gives some good stats (if you pay for the subscription), and is convenient to wear, for the $500 price I would have to see the data details be included without having to pay a monthly subscription before I’d recommend it with a $500 price tag. To get much good out of the ring you have to purchase a $70/year subscription ($72/year if you do it monthly instead of annually). The three scores without the subscription don’t mean much, in my opinion. If I can’t see my data, I don’t see the purpose of having the ring. If it still sent my calories burned and workout heart rate to my Health app without a subscription, that would be a boon. Even using it just one year, a $500 ring becomes a $570 ring. I’d say wait for a big sale, or go for the non-ceramic, if you’re interested in the convenience a ring gives you, or if you don’t wear a smart watch (or wear one very often) and want to track your fitness and sleep throughout the day and night. The high cost caused me to knock off a star. The ring does a good job tracking and reporting, but you need the subscription to get that info, so keep that in mind.

I’ve been interested in Oura health and fitness rings for a while. So when I had the chance to test their newest ring, I was elated! I was particularly wanting to monitor my sleep patterns, heart rate, while also using the device to help manage my stress.
The ring itself is beautiful. It’s really comfortable to wear, all day and night. I only take it off to wash my hands, do the dishes or shower, and it is then that I put it on its lovely little charger.
Though I do have a ‘smart watch’, I choose to give my wrist a break from continually wearing it during the night. Now I am able to wear this ring to track my sleep, breathing, and heart rates with the Oura instead. In addition, you can connect the ring to other health and fitness apps, as well as, the Oura app itself.
The Oura app is well organized and easy to navigate. It seems to update my information regularly, without any “glitchy” delays I’ve experienced with some other health/fitness apps. At a glance you can check your Vitals - Readiness score, Sleep breakdown, Activity Goals progress, Daytime Heart Rate monitoring, and Daytime Stress levels. You can even add an activity, record a workout heart rate, and log a meal in your Timeline section. There are also helpful research study articles you can read to educate yourself concerning the areas you want to focus on using your Oura ring.
Once you’ve worn your Oura every day for a week, the ring will be able to Calibrate more about your health and fitness patterns. Every morning I’m actually excited to review my previous night’s sleep record, including my blood oxygen levels. I still need to get into a regular habit of recording my meals, but that will come with time. I’ve done this before, using a different health app, so it’s just a matter of adding that to my daily routine.
A particular feature I’m fascinated to learn more about, and potentially participate in, is Oura Labs. I’m quite looking forward to being notified when a new experimental feature will become available for me to try out and evaluate.
While the Oura Ring 4 is somewhat expensive, if you are considering purchasing one, think of this device as more than just a ‘fitness ring,’ but rather as a long-term investment to better assist you with improving your overall health. In addition, the $5.99/month or $69.99/annual cost of the Oura Membership is more than fair.

If you take your health and fitness seriously an Oura Ring is the perfect companion. It seems not a day goes by now that I don't see someone else wearing their Oura Ring.
I think the first thing to realize is that the Oura ring and app are more of a lifestyle coach rather than a sports/fitness gadget. Yes, it has all the sensors for body temperature, pulse ox and heart beat and it also measures your activity and sleep but it presents the data to you such that you can improve and be your best self.
This Oura Ring 4 Ceramic is an upgrade from a Gen3 Horizon.
Setting up the ring for the first time is easy. Install the app, set the ring on the charger which puts it in pairing mode and connect it to the app. Fill out your profile and focus and you’re off. Switching rings works the same way, add the new one and the old ring is removed from the account.
Gen 4 rings adds enhanced sensors, better battery life and an easier fit as the sensor bumps are not as pronounced as previous generations.
But the real magic happens with the app. The app is categorized into three main areas, Readiness, Sleep and Activity with a home screen that shows a quick summary of everything. Each area is shown as a tab or card that collects relevant data and gives a score out of 100. . It also has guided meditations and advice to better your life.
The Readiness card shows how prepared you should be for the day ahead. The Sleep card shows how well you slept which is my favorite tab, getting to see the different stages of sleep you go through. The Activity tab rates you based on your fitness goals and success.
There is also an Explore tab where you can access the catalog of life lessons, motivational videos, guided meditations and sleep stories. The media is useful but I find it somewhat limited but it is growing.
Even though you can get some readings at the moment, I feel the Oura Ring is better suited as a recording device that you look back on rather than follow live.
Oura pairs with my Apple Fitness and Strava keeping all my data and readings in one location.
As far as the ring itself, the ceramic outer shell is shiny and the midnight blue almost comes off as black depending on the lighting. The fit is more comfortable than the generation 3 due to the reduction of the sensor bumps. Like previous generations, the ceramic stands out so people will still know by sight that you care about your health.
The battery life is rated for seven days and unlike my previous ring, it actually gets it. I charge mine every four days, not because it needs it but because I charge it at the same time as I charge my watch.
Overall I really like my Oura Ring and recommend it to anyone who wants a stylish way to monitor their health goals.

This is a fantastic product! I’ve worn it for about a week now and it’s given me fantastic insight into a variety of my health concerns including sleep quality and stress levels. Setup was super easy and charging takes a few minutes for 4-5 days worth of data collecting. The ring is insanely comfortable, and I’ve had several compliments on its look even in the first week of ownership. I was concerned about a ceramic ring’s durability, but that concern was not needed. This is built like a tank and hasn’t shown a single scratch despite banging into doorknobs, doing dishes, or even yardwork. Comparing its data to that collected by my Apple Watch over the same time period, the two are roughly within 5% of each other, so I’m reassured about the accuracy of the readings, and this lets me keep my watch recharging at night without fear of losing crucial health data. Setting up the ring and the app was super simple. It pairs in seconds and the rest is just typical sign-up info like any other new account. Easy for anyone of any age to set up and start their journey to a healthier lifestyle. Strongly recommend!!!!!!

My Overall Impression
The Oura Ring 4 Ceramic seems nice, but I don’t know how much I trust the data it gathers. The app presentation is confusing. I do like the new midnight blue color that became available for the fall of 2025.
What’s New
The Oura Ring 4 Ceramic is an updated version of the Oura Ring 4 with new colors for the fall of 2025. The four new colors available are: cloud, tide, pet and midnight blue. I have the midnight blue which is a dark navy color with a gray hue. I like the color more than I expected and it seems to match well with a lot of the clothes that I wear.
The Setup
There’s not a lot to the set up. My ring arrived with around an 80% charge. You download the Oura app and connect the ring through Bluetooth. A key thing to know about the Oura Ring 4 is that you are required to activate a subscription to use it. More about that later. Once the subscription has been set up you can continue in the app. The app will ask you questions about your goals of how you expect to use your ring. Once everything is complete, the ring will continue to communicate with the phone sending it data to process.
Oura Subscription
You can’t just wear the Oura Ring and collect data. You are required to activate a subscription of which there are currently two choices: an Annual or a Monthly. That subscription takes the data and not only stores it but also interprets it in various ways. I didn’t know that a subscription was required to use this, so I was really surprised that I had to pay (after the initial 1 month trial) to use my new wearable tech.
Data Collection
I’m not going to name every type of data that the ring collects, but some of the data points are expected such as temperature, heart rate, and steps. Other things measured such as sleep time, sleep efficiency, heart rate variability, activity rates (calories burned), and stress are monitored, but I am not sure how they are determined.
I have been able to determine that some of the data appears to be incorrect.
• Steps – I also wear a smart watch that monitors steps. I chose a highly active day and compared the two step counts. My watch was 1600 steps higher than the ring. With as active as I was, I believe the watch.
• Stress – Supposedly this ring can detect stress levels. I know that I have had several high stress moments today, and they are not reflected correctly in my chart / graph.
Other Data Input
The Oura Ring 4 allows for some manual input and connected input.
Meals – You can log in meals.
Activities – You can log in specific activities.
Glucose – You can link certain glucose monitors to the app.
The overall goal for the app appears to be that it’s a final collection point and it will process and connect the data together for a more complete picture of what’s happening with your health. It will also provide recommendations for ways to change your health or tell you that what you are doing is good overall.
Data Presentation
The data presentation needs work. I can tell that certain data types have been grouped together to create a narrative for that component of your health, but the way that it’s graphically shown could be better. There’s usually a graphic showing a bar with your high and low points. You can press a spot on the graph and it will create a line showing information at that point in time. The problem is that point of time may represent 15-30 minutes instead of the minute that you want to measure. It is particularly frustrating when you want to see the high or low points of the graph, but it doesn’t snap to them.
Also, I’ve been using the ring for about a week, and certain data point still haven’t populated.
Charging
The Oura Ring 4 comes with a charging stand. It connects using a USB-C to USB-C cable that’s over 3 feet long. This model is expected to run 5 to 8 days on a full charge. My experience was similar to that.
Final Conclusion
I am giving the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic a 3 star rating. I like the new color, and it’s a neat idea. However, I’m not sure that I trust the data that I am seeing and there’s a required subscription just to use it.

The ceramic Oura Ring 4 is an excellent and conspicuous companion to keep track of your health and fitness. I have several fitness watches, which are indeed helpful in fitness, but not so much in health and particularly present a huge drawback in sleep. One of my main desires has been to track my sleep and the Oura ring has been outstanding in this. With watches, I wake up in the middle of the night with a strangled wrist only to take them off, but with the Oura, I forget I’m even wearing it. Not only that, but the biometrics it tracks and how it compiles them gives me insights that are extremely helpful in guiding me to make productive changes.
*What’s included?*
Along with the Oura ring comes a sized ring charger and USB-C to USB-C cable. Oura also offers to mail a free buffer to get rid of scuffs.
*Quality of Product*
This Oura ring is made of zirconia ceramic, making it so lightweight I now forget it’s even there. It did take a few days to get used to its size as it is quite wide and bulky. That said, it is extremely comfortable, with titanium on the inside that is smooth on the skin and the rounded edges making it easy to put on and remove.
The zirconia ceramic is highly resilient, I almost immediately scuffed it with the handle of a pan while cooking, but the buffer Oura provided quickly buffed it off and made it look like new.
The ring is made to withstand water immersion, heat, and cold. So, it can be used while swimming, in the sauna, and shower. I do not shower with it as I prefer not to, but I do plan to take it into the sauna as I like to track my biometrics while in there.
*Featured Functions*
• Activity tracking: This ring tracks activity phenomenally, to the point that I have been shocked several times. Not only does it know when I am busy just doing housework, it even knows when I take a nap. No other fitness tracker has been able to do that, and they usually try to nudge me to get up and walk around during naps, which only disturbs my nap. The ring then implements all of this activity into its readiness and stress score.
• Readiness: This score will take several factors, with the main one being sleep, to tell you how ready you are to take on the day. It gives gentle suggestions with an understanding tone while explaining the reason for the score.
• Sleep: This score has always been important to me because I know what difference it makes in my overall health but I struggle greatly with it. I have been checking times that I wake up in the middle of the night, and the ring has accurately gauged when I have been sleeping or awake. It includes analytics such as blood oxygen levels, heart rate variability, and several other biometrics that help understand the body’s sleep patterns.
• Heart rate: The heart rate feature works perfectly, if not better than other fitness trackers. Because it is on my finger and does not slide around, there is no issues with lapses in the analytics.
• Cycle: The ring uses nighttime temperature to detect the current stage of a woman’s menstrual cycle, but it takes 60 days to be able to start predicting so I am not currently able to comment on the accuracy as of yet.
• Other biometric features: A few other included features are oxygen level and breathing. I really enjoy being able to understand where I am at with respiratory and cardiovascular health. Additionally, the ring compiles data to give info on resilience, cardiovascular age, and chronotype, all of which need more time before they can give me a result. I had not heard of chronotype, and I am quite curious as to what advice it will give me on my sleep schedule.
*App*
The Oura app provides an overview of all the of scores at the top, ring battery life, and makes everything else intuitive to find. It seems that they went for a calming appearance with their layout that does not overstimulate, and they achieved it.
*Subscription*
It is important to note that some of the analytic features I mentioned need a subscription, but I find the price for it reasonable for the value provided. Without subscription it provides readiness, activity, and sleep scores.
*Battery Life*
They state the ring has 5-8 days battery life, and for me it lasted until the middle of the eighth day. I am so grateful for this because I can get a whole week of biometrics without worrying about it dying in the middle of the day or night. It is much easier for me to choose a convenient time to charge it as well. It charges quite quickly, taking just over an hour to go from almost dead to fully charged.
*Recommendations *
I recommend choosing a size for a finger that is not next to fingers that you already put rings on as it might not get along with them plus it might scratch them since it is really high on the Mohs scale.
They recommend using your nondominant index finger. I chose my dominant middle finger because I wear a watch and rings on my left and wanted to even that out and my right middle finger felt the most comfortable to me. This, of course, is what led me to scuff it right away and I do have to temporarily switch it to my left side when I am working with my hands even though it fits loosely. It’s definitely ideal to go with a size that fits multiple fingers, which I now kind of wish I had done. Also, the ring fits me well in the size I chose but it almost falls off when I have wet hands. The ring is slightly larger the ring sizer plus the rounded edges makes it easier to remove. With all this said though, it is not so loose that it rotates by itself, so it is still a good size and gives my finger room to swell, it’s just iffy when wet. I thought this worth mentioning as something to consider if you plan on using it while swimming.
*Conclusion*
I am truly loving this ring and how much insight I am getting into my health. I am also excitedly waiting for the rest of the analytics to load up. I think it is amazing that it can compile data to know when you might even have an underlying issue you are unaware of. There is so much to gain from something so small, conspicuous, and comfortable. I recommend this over a fitness watch.

I’ve been a huge fan of the oura ring for quite some time. I’ve had my generation 3 ring for
years and have loved the health insights its given me over that time. The generation 4 rings
have been out for a while and I didn’t upgrade until Oura’s newest release, the Oura ring 4
Ceramic. I was thinking about upgrading, but when I saw the colors, I knew I wouldn’t
continue to resist the urge for a change.
Similar to before, the oura ring ships in a small box. It comes with everything you need to
get started. Of course you get the ring. There is also a redesigned charging base, at least
compared to the generation 3 ring I had. You also get a USB-C to USB-C charging cord.
Once you have the base plugged in and the ring on the charger, you are ready to go.
With all things technology related, there’s an app to download. With the oura app
downloaded and the ring on the charger, you’ll be able to easily connect your ring to your
account in the app. When you put the ring on the charger, it will go into Bluetooth search
mode and you use the oura app to guide you in the connection. It takes all of 30 second to 1
minute and you can put your ring on and begin your tracking journey. The 4th generation oura rings added improved sensors, called smart sensing, compared to the 3rd generation rings, which allow the oura ring to track 50+ health metrics, and give it the ability to add new features/metrics in the future. In the simplest terms, the oura ring and the app will track and measure your bio stats in 3 categories, giving you a daily score. Every day you’ll get a readiness score, a sleep score, and an activity score. With the add on oura membership, you get significantly more insight into your data on sleep, overall health, heart health, body temperature tracking, trends over time, and more. The membership is a nice
to have, not an absolute must, but you will get a lot less info about your bio stats and limit
the usefulness of the ring overall. All of this is the same for all of the 4th generation rings.
The “old” 4th generation rings come in several metallic colors. The “new” 4th generation
ceramic rings come in four beautiful colors, that all stand out and pop. It’s much more eye
catching than the same old same old silver or gold that have been around for years. While I
was a fan of all 4 colors, I love the midnight color, and that’s what I’ve got now. It’s a deep
blue and it’s gorgeous. The ceramic finish looks better, the oura ring ceramic fits better, and
feels like an improvement over the materials and finishes on other oura rings.
Truth be told, from a functional standpoint, there is no difference I am aware of across the
entire 4th generation ring family. It’s the same sensors, the same 5-8 day battery life, same
connection and interaction with the app. If you are new to oura or are using a 3rd generation
ring, the new ring will be an improvement in all of those areas. Beauty is ultimately in the
eye of the beholder and you’ll have to decide whether the aesthetics of the oura ring
ceramic are worth the extra money, because it’s all about the finish in this new offering. All I
can say is the oura ring ceramic is a beautifully made tech item that is worth a look and a
touch, but you might not be able to take your eye off of it, put it down, or take it off.
Best for Health Insights than for Exercise Fitness

The ceramic coating on the Oura Ring makes it look and feel more like jewelry than an electronic monitoring device. I have worn my Oura Ring for about a week now and I have gotten mixed results with it especially when it comes to being able to interpret my exercise results in the mobile app. When monitoring daily activities like walking and doing simple task or sleeping it seems to be reasonably accurate but with cardio/aerobic workouts I find it less informative. I feel the ring is more of a data gathering device that over time provides insight into your overall health. It doesn’t provide real time data during an activity and I don’t feel that it provides enough post exercise information that can be used to improve fitness. The Oura app can be overwhelming and the yearly subscription cost may make it a big negative for some. Bottom line is I would recommend the Oura ring for someone who is more interested in their overall health status. I would not recommend it for someone who is mainly concerned about their exercise fitness.
Sleeping: So far I think the ring has been fairly accurate when it comes to monitoring my sleep data. I had one night where the ring was nearly 2 hours late starting my sleep cycle and I assume that was because the ring rotated off center and thus didn’t record the information properly. Because of this I have become more vigilante on the ring’s alignment and this not necessarily a good thing. On the plus side it hasn’t confused my inactivity while reading at night as going to sleep and it has captured my afternoon naps accurately when I take one longer than 15 minutes.
Exercise: I wear the ring everywhere I go including the gym and so far no scratches or mars to the finish. When I go to the gym I don’t take my phone with me, I rely on my iwatch and this can be an issue. If my activities are not recognized by the ring I have to add them manually in the app when I get home and doing this can definitely impact the accuracy of the workout data. The ring does not recognize my indoor bike training and while it does captures the heart rate data it seems to be lower/less responsive than the levels my other devices report. I have about a 50/50 chance of the ring recognizing the elliptical workouts but no luck at all having it recognize strength training workouts. What is funny is that it has recognized me doing “housework” and yardwork activities due to an elevated heart rate and motion.
Fit and Feel: The ring is thick and has some weight to it. The recommendation is to wear it on one of your first three fingers but I found wearing it on my index finger like they show in the ads to be more problematic because I lead with my index finger area when reaching which means it hits more things. I highly recommend getting the ring sizing kit and wear the sizing ring for a couple of days to figure out which finger fits best and wont impede your hand motions. The ceramic coating feels very smooth and really shines but I do worry about dinging it on something. So far I have worn it to do housework, yard work, at the gym and on the bike all without any scratches. I’ve had it in soap and water as well as covered in hand sanitizer without any issues. There is a small notch/indent on the ring that should face your palm for proper alignment. In the dark this can be more difficult to verify especially if you are in bed. My ring fits reasonably tight but due to the smooth surface it does rotate so I find myself checking it often. Overall the fit and feel of this ring is good and not an issue.
Oura App: The Oura app has four primary health categories: Readiness, Sleep, Activity and Heart Rate. It then uses the data from the ring to assign a number value and a little icon to indicate what it believes your health value for that category is. Oura explains what data contributes to the calculation without disclosing the algorithm. If you want to get more specific information on the category or its contributors you have to go into the subcategory pages. Bottom line is that this app has lots of graphs and subcategories that at times make it more difficult to get to the actual information that I as a user want to see. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t find the app very intuitive and it is inundate with so many subcategories that it becomes difficult to figure out where the really important information is located. Hopefully with time I will be able to figure out the app but so far it’s been a frustration.

The color is very nice. It's a soft pink color. I got this one to replace my original Stealth color after i lost weight. Works great. Sturdy so far. No complaints. Will definitely buy again

This is a wonderful purchase and I couldn’t be happier with the product for my best-friend. This item has really changed the way she views her health and sleep quality. Thanks to this ring she’s able to fully track all of her progress through its app while also being able to wear something simple enough that isn’t too flashy. I couldn’t recommend this ring enough for anyone who just wants to simply track their heart rate and sleeping patterns as she struggles a lot with her sleep schedule. I swear the future of technology always surpasses our expectations.

This is ring is the absolute best purchase I have ever made. It does so many things health wise and helps keep up with certain things for me. Recently I got sick and my ring told me something was straining my body the day before I was sick. The battery life is also amazing and that is a plus and it charges super quick. Its also very easy to set up when you first get it. This thing truly works and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I wear this every day. It is co comfortable. I wear mine on my thumb which allows me to wear my other rings and it looks like a nice piece of jewelry. The stats are fun to wake up to and track too!

I have absolutely loved this! More accurate than my Apple Watch was and I love that I can wear it day and night. I usually charge it while I shower and the ring hasn’t died. Extremely comfortable.

I’ve been really impressed with the Oura Ring. It tracks my health in a very advanced and detailed way, especially sleep, recovery, and overall readiness. One of the best features is how accurately it can predict when I’m about to get sick. I often get early warnings before I even feel symptoms. It’s comfortable to wear, easy to use, and the insights feel genuinely useful rather than overwhelming. If you’re serious about understanding your health and catching issues early, this ring is absolutely worth it.

I am very pleased with this product. The technology is accurate and thorough. The ring is very comfortable to wear. At first, I was first concerned about the durability of the finish and being ceramic, but I am completely satisfied with it. I was in multiple situations where it should have gotten scratched, but it didn't! I did have a black mark on it, in which I thought was a scratch, but the cleaning pad buffed the mark right off! The ring is beautiful!

I originally bought the Oura Ring 4 as a Christmas gift for my other half, and she absolutely loved it. She was so excited about the insights and how easy it was to use that she ended up dragging me back to Best Buy to get one for myself too and I’m honestly glad she did.
Using Oura together has been a great motivator for both of us. We check in on our sleep, recovery, and activity and help keep each other accountable in a positive way. For me personally, it’s been an amazing tool for focusing on my health and self-care. The sleep tracking is incredibly detailed, the readiness score actually makes sense, and I love being able to see how stress, rest, and daily habits affect my body.
It’s comfortable enough to wear 24/7, looks great, and doesn’t feel intrusive like other wearables I’ve tried. If you’re looking for something that genuinely helps you be more mindful of your health or a thoughtful gift that might turn into something you both use.. I can’t recommend the Oura Ring 4 enough.
