This cost nearly what the microwave cost, but it looks great installed in our built-in cabinetry. The microwave fits it perfectly and the Panasoic inverter microwaves are the best! Intuitive to use and handle reduced power much better than the Dacor and DCS (I think made by Samsung?) that we have had. Inexpensive great microwave made up for cost of the trim kit!

This microwave surround is a good product, but very hard to install because of the way it attaches to the face of the existing cabinet. (See photo). Since the male and female receptacles did not line up and could not be adjusted, a carpenter had to use a saw into the wood so the trim kit could be installed properly.

you have been warned! not only is this trim difficult to install because it requires precision cabinetry design (+/- 2mm); it also has cheap plastic connection parts that break -- and the company will not replace. Panasonic wants $36 for the parts replacement kit to replace one 10 cent plastic piece. pros: fits around the microwave. do not recommend. would never buy again.

Quite a nice item but let down by some cheap plastic parts i.e. attachment clips and their abysmal so-called 'Customer Service'. I would not go back to Panasonic for anything. One of the attachments broke and they wouldn't make the simple gesture of sending me a replacement - must cost all of 10 cents!! I was driven nuts by their avoidance of helping me and got bounced around and finally was forced to give up. The corner of the trim is now held to the woodwork by a piece of sellotape; I would suggest to them that they provide an extra couple of these things in the packaging because I'm certain I'm not the first to have this problem. Maybe it would cut into their profit margin too much and also be too much work for their CS staff to handle.

A little challenging to install but not bad. Needs to be tighter to the accompanying microwave(s) as the gaps are a bit larger than desirable.

Goes with the unit that I bought, so had no choice. Like the microwave itself, not something that I would buy but for the fit. Trim kit actually cost more than the microwave! I recommend it only because it's your only choice, if you bought the microwave.

This is our third built-in microwave. This trim kit was more difficult to fit into our opening due to the limited placement of the tabs. While the trim kit is the right size, all the tab positions do not line up. Other trim kits allow you to screw the trim kit into place. As such, only two tabs at the top were installed and used a caulk to seal the bottom part of the kit.

Nice looking piece, Absolutely terrible, and confusing instructions. Job should have taken a short time. It ended up being a lot more time then I expected.

Does it's job, mounts the microwave. Take your measurements carefully, the hole in your wall has to be the exact same size as the cover.

Fit my microwave perfectly. The stainless steel finish is easy to clean.

How can the trim kit cost more than the Microwave Oven itself?
