Great Office Phone - Might be overkill for many.

First of all, my big disclaimer: Although I have a home office, I'm not using this new phone in that location. I purchased it to replace an aging (and failing) phone in another room where I simply wanted access to both of my phone lines. So in many respects, purchasing this unit was overkill ... and I'm very unlikely to ever need the full 4-line capacity. On the other hand, this phone appears to be very well constructed, and programming it is relatively easy. Navigating the various features is also straightforward and the sound quality is excellent. The display is clear and the backlight automatically shuts off after a period of time when not in use (something I really like). Since I only have one of these units, I can't comment on the intercom feature.
There's really not much more to say about it. It's a good phone and I'm anticipating that it will serve me well for years to come.

I have been a fan of Panasonic phones for over 20 years, which is why I chose this phone. It is a great phone unless having the ability to be handsfree (use speakerphone) is important. I received the first phone the beginning of August within a week the speakerphone began flipping out anytime I tried to use it. I called Best Buy and they were happy to exchange I received the replacement and it has done the same thing.. At this point I am becoming very annoyed, this is my office phone and I cannot be without it nor is a non-functioning speakerphone acceptable! Calling Best Buy again tomorrow..

We have been very happy with this system for our 2 room home office. Switching to VOIP has shown significant savings which will counter the higher price of this phone. Very easy to learn. Sound quality as good as Merlin system we switched from. VOIP has made us more flexible routing calls to handhelds and digital voice messaging sent via email is an awesome new tool for us. Hardest part was getting Cablevision out for their part of the set-up!

It rings, I answer it and talk. I pick up the receiver, I dial and talk. Or, I push the speakerphone button to answer it or dial... then I talk. Sometimes I put calls on hold. I can read the numbers and the display.
This phone is remarkable in that it does nothing that "nobody ever thought of before". It is a 4-line desk phone that works just fine.

I ordered 4 units and 2 of the units have intercoms that do not work. I called customer service at Panasonic and they were not helpful at all. First English was not the customer service representative primary language so it was very hard to get them to understand the problem. Second they told me i had to pay to send the phone back before they would replace them. So i am going to into Best Buy and see if they can help me.
