I love this camera, it's my favorite but it has problems. Let me start with what I like. The size, and shape are quite good. It's easy to bring this along. I take this camera all over. I also like the colors of the standard picture profile. The colors look fantastic outside, in the sun. Greens, reds, and yellows seem to pop in a pleasing way. The user interface is also quite good. The quick menu has almost everything. I use it a lot. The main menu is also pretty good. The touch screen was integrated well into the user interface and I'm usually able to navigate the menu without the manual. I also like that it's micro four thirds so I can re-use my lens. There are cheap yet good lenses available for this system. The overall collection of features is quite good. I like that it has an EVF, mic jack, and hot shoe. The phone app is pretty good too. But it's not all good. The stabilization sucks. For pictures, you need faster shutter speeds. For videos, you _need_ a tripod or gimbal! The electronic stabilization helps but it's often not good enough (especially for video). The continuous auto focus screws up too much. I'm not bothered too much by the occasional background breathing (I usually don't notice it). But I am bothered when auto focus screws up royally. There have been talking head shots where my face goes out of focus completely for a few seconds even though the I haven't moved. For self-filming you might lose shots because of auto focus. It seems to screw up more when I wear sunglasses. The record limit bothers me. When I see a clip getting close to 10 mins I wrap up the clip sooner than I otherwise would have. This would bother me much more if this were my only camera. The clean HDMI feed is too laggy. I used this camera for a zoom call and the delay was a problem. The delay is about 11 frames with a camlink 4k. It caused us to talk over each other in the video call. The 4k crop bothers me but I didn't notice it till someone pointed it out. Since I keep stabilization turned off it's not as bad. With stabilization, the 4k crop is much bigger problem, however. But since stabilization is bad I end up doing all my videos with a tripod or something. I can see the 4k crop being a deal breaker for a lot of people. The camera doesn't have an analog Remote Shutter Release input. I'm talking about the 2.5 mm remote jack that lets you use an Intervalometer/Timer/Shutter Release unit. Thankfully I'm usually able to make do with the phone app. And the camera lets you set a shutter speed as long as 60 seconds. But some operations are only possible with a remote shutter signal. I can't use this camera for some Astrophotography nor can I take a picture using a bulb mode shutter release. I wish it had 5ghz wifi 6 and a UHS-II SD card slot for when I use the phone app. The slow 2.4 ghz wifi that it has is fine for photos. But for video you need an SD card reader. Thankfully you can get SD card readers for iPhone, and android. But I usually transfer my videos to my computer for editing. Still this would be a nice thing to have. Here are some neutral points: Sometimes the camera feels a little small in my hand. But if it were big enough for my hands I probably wouldn't use it as much. The SD card slot at the bottom hasn't been a problem for me. I use small tripod-plates with this camera and I'm able to open the battery door without removing the tripod plate. To get the most of from this camera you need to connect it to your phone over Bluetooth so that you photos get tagged with their locations. I wish Panasonic would integrate the latest technology from computational photography (I work in computer science research and there are so many ways this camera would be much better if they'd do something fancy with software). At the very least, I'd like to see a mode that takes many exposures, aligns them, averages the pixel values and spits out an image that has less noise and more clarity (this is what iPhones and Pixel-Phones do and it's why high-end phones take better night photos). And I'd like to see those same computational methods applied in video. In conclusion, This is a great walking around camera for people that already own a micro-four-thirds camera. It's limitations would make this an annoying first/only camera. There are lots of ways I wish this camera was better. But I love this camera and I use it more than any other camera I own. It's size is great. I'm happy with the video quality. The colors look good. And it has a nice assortment of features. Overall I love playing with this camera. I look forward to using it every day. I have yet to play with all it's features.

It is so small and compact.. I can fit this camera with the kit lens, and my 25mm prime and 45-150telephoto all in a bag that isn't big enough to hold my sony a7iii and one lens alone. Picture quality is great. Cheap lenses are available for any use case you'd need. I got the 25mm prime for $150 more dollars and it is incredible on this camera. This thing is so nice just to throw in a bag when my main objective is anything other than take photos. It's so nice to have it. Some of the features are a little gimmicky, but.. that's what happens when you market a camera for "vloggers"

Nice camera, but autofocus is very finicky and so it the lighting, I would def recommend some form of external lighting. However, it is a very nice point and shoot camera and I like the ability to just send over pictures and video to my phone through the app.

I bought this to replace a camera I dropped (I guess dropping a camera once every 50 years is my quota). I chose this because it had a sensor similar in size to my Nikon DSLR. As others say it has a complicated menu that can be confusing. I don't think the manual is arranged to make it easy to find needed information. There are features that this has that aren't well described. I the short time I've had this I had to reset the menus once since something I did gave the wrong result. One review says that image stabilization isn't very good, especially for videos. If you do a lot of videos, you might want to choose a different camera. I don't make videos and I rely on shutter speed to keep my photos sharp. If you have used lumix cameras before, I would recommend this one. At the price I paid, it is a great camera.

I am not a professional photographer so my review will not be too focus on advance functions of G100. My experience with the camera is good, the quality of picture is stunny, it has been set up with various style of picture. So I think it is what the beginner should have.

This camera is amazing very easy to hold not heavy at all and the quality is fantastic!! Recording and photos are very clear !! You even have a selfie mode I would definitely recommend this camera 1000/10 for sure !

Great quality photos when paired with the right lens. It is really a bang for its buck. Definitely worth the price if you want a crop sensor camera.

This Camera is one of the best ones I have ever own! The different camera settings is so helpful and makes the pictures come out perfect every time. Being able to transfer the content on the camera to my phone just by using wifi is THE BEST PART! I can take a picture with the square setting and transfer it right to my phone and upload right to instagram without cropping it! Definitely recommend for anyone! So easy to use and again, the transferring right to my phone is so convenient!!!

The body is a kind of hard plastic, which makes it very light. Normally I would complain that it's not metal, and I'm sure that will be a problem for me in the future, but the benefit outweigh the cost. The grip makes it easy to handle. It's the smallest camera I own, taking full advantage of the Micro Four Thirds promise of compactness. It's easy to store in a small bag. The EVF is bright and beautiful for the times that I need it. The touch display is clear, bright, and responsive. The dials are in good reachable places, but it took a little while to get use to the back dial that surrounds the menu button. Pictures come out in great detail. Thanks to the 20MP sensor and good kit lens with OIS. I immediately got a prime lens without OIS (stabilization) and the camera still does amazing without it, but I've been using film cameras my entire life and this is my first mirrorless camera. I know people put way too much faith in IBIS (which this camera does not have) and judge cameras based on spec sheets (which would make the Light L16 one of the best cameras ever... It's not), but if you try the camera for yourself you will find that it is really a well rounded, great performing camera. I will say that my only issue with it is the capped "mechanical" shutter speed at 1\500s. It's a hybrid shutter and it works very well, you'll rarely need more that 1/500s in most situation, but if you're in a car or on a train and you're taking pictures while moving, you will see a rolling shutter effect if you're in auto and your shutter speed is above 1/500, you will also see light bending and screens flickering on the full electronic shutter. If you take pictures with your phone, you should be used to this. I like to turn off auto and stick to the hybrid shutter, but I do wish there was a full mechanical shutter for those bright Florida summer days, but at this price I'm not really complaining. Speaking of the price... I got it on sale, but even at full price this is a great device, offering a lot more value in features and quality that really punches above it's weight. The only thing I worry about is how plastic degrades over time. I can see this cracking and falling apart in 6 to 10 years, and that's not something I look forward to. I did pay for the accident coverage for 4 years if it does become an issue than hopefully I can get it replaced before I'm ready to upgrade.

First, great price, great size and very good travel camera with excellent image quality, would I recommend this camera, YES!!!!

Besides the limitation to micro-four thirds (which may not matter to you), I find this camera to be easy to use for a first time photographer, who also takes occaisional videos. It is responsive, gets decent battery life for my needs (walking around parks taking pictures and short videos) and I don't feel worried about carrying tons of batteries of me. I am slowly adding more lens to my pack, but you certainly should look into upgrading the stock lens if you care to do any photography, so just know that going in. The sensor is very capable of taking a large lens and the results are beautiful.

So far the camera has exceeded expectations! It is very easy to use, takes awesome pictures, and videos, has several d8fferent lense options, the battery lasts a long time, and the many connection options for downloading has been great too!

I own Sony zv1, zve10, Fujifilm xt200. I gave a try to experience Panasonic colors and fell in love instantly. Yes, autofocus is bit slower compare to other brands. However, the cinematic quality in both video and photo is great! I recommend to others and I seriously consider buying gh5ii or s5 for an upgrade!

I've brought this camera just for family needs & to easily carry around. Many of my friends were really surprised looking at the compact form factor of the camera. Takes amazing photos, better than my lumix S full frame cameras. Good audio recording setup. Compact. Bunch of lens options.

Good for beginners. Nothing compared to the G85 that got me into Lumix cameras but still a great option.
