I got this headset for chrismas and i really like it and would recommend it. The battery life is long and charging is fast. It might be a struggle to set up the afterglow headset but once you get it you can have alot of fun. The sound quality is really good and mutes most sounds around you. My only problem is that the headset can hurt my ear.

Awesome Headset for Under $125 (with tax)

Before purchasing the Afterglow headset, I only used the Turtle Beach Ear Force PX21 headset. I use them on my PS3 for playing COD games. The PX21 headset is awesome for sound but lacks greatly in the durability department. I had to replace the PX21 headset 3 times over the course of 2 years. If you accidentally dropped them too hard, or someone accidentally sits on them, they are going to break. Many of my friends have experienced the same durability issue with the PX21 headset. Luckily I had insurance and it didn't cost me anything additional to replace. A month ago, my PX21 headset broke again and I didn't have insurance coverage at the time. I was at Best Buy the other day and saw the Afterglow headset on the shelf. Prior to seeing them at Best Buy, I hadn't heard of them before. I figured for $125 (with tax) I would give them a try and I’m glad I did. The sound is awesome, they are very comfortable, I don’t see these things breaking anytime in the near future (I still got insurance for 2 years just in case anything else happens). Initially, I thought the Afterglow headset lacked in overall game volume because the PX21 headset is extremely loud if you want them to be. The Afterglow headset is built to be noise cancelling so they do not have to be as loud on your ears. Now that I've logged several hours of play with the Afterglow headset, I’m use to the volume and it’s more than adequate. Overall, great headset and great buy.

    Great headphones.

I am overall, impressed with this headset. The audio quality is great, battery life is astonishing, the range is a little depressing considering it has 40 foot range, I could only go about 25 feet, which is more than acceptable. WARNING- IF YOU INTEND ON USING THE MICROPHONE KEEP IT EXTENDED. PUSHING IT IN AND OUT WILL BREAK THE WIRES RENDERING IT USELESS -WARNING. Another thing to look out for is the green blinking light of death. The headphones will shut off but the green LEDs' will blink. The way to fix this is to remove the ear cup and unscrew the panel on the right ear pod. Then remove the battery and reconnect it. There is another problem. The base is really strong. Strong enough to drown out the audio if you are listening to music or sound with a lot of base. Other than those problems, an excellent wireless gaming headset for under 100 bucks. Great job PDP, I am very happy with theese headphones.

Brought these after the pair I went to look at wasn't in stock. Turned out to be a good purchase, they're comfortable and was fairly easy to hook up to my television and ps3. Very good sound quality and the hide away mic is a nice touch. Highly recommend these to someone wanting a good headset for long gaming sessions.

    my favourite pair of headphones

I loved these headphones. The only bad thing I can say about them is that they're slightly heavy if you wear them for a long period of time, and it's impossible to talk to someone in the room if you have them on, but that's not really a con. They're extremely comfortable, the sound quality is amazing, and the changing lights makes me happy. The only reason I'm not using them anymore is because my cats got to the chunky usb adapter, and there's no way to replace it through the PDP site or anywhere else I've looked. The headphones are still in perfect condition, but if they can't be connected, they're useless. Really sad to be letting these go, but there are no replaceable parts.

They seem good at first, but don't last.

When I bought these, they seemed awesome, and the mic worked fine. The overall body is made of very, very cheap plastics. In timeline sense, here's what happened (1 year of use) 1 month: Microphone is shot. Headset was not dropped and/or damaged in any fashion. 2 months: Cushion on headband starts to peel off at edges. 3 months: Padding on earphone starts to wear off after 4hr use per day. 4 months: Crack on right side of headband starts to form. 6 months: Audio is still in good quality. 9 months: Crack on left side of headband begins to form. 11 months: Crack on right side of headband is plainly visible. Marathon gaming experience: 30min: Entire face is getting hot. 1hr: Ears are getting sweaty and are starting to hurt 1hr 45min: I had to take the headset off to let my ears breathe. Overall: Clunky, overweight design. The headset has to at LEAST weigh 1lb. it weighs my head down and is hard to use at times. The audio cannot be matched, but the overall clunky design and cheap materials nullify the pros of this headset.

These are no bulkier then the turtle beaches IMO. The wireless feature is awesome my tv has a USB port on it I hooked it in there plugged the aux cable into the headphone jack and now I can wirelessly watch tv too! They are far better then turtle beaches I've had two pair and I like the material the ear cups are made of better the stay cooler. These are made of leather and the others of cushion and my ears would burn up in those the leather is noticeably cooler. Lastly audio quality is amazing and listening to an ipod or just using them as headphones is really awesome.

My teenager got this for x-mas. I wasn't sure if it would be good or not. I talked to a guy at the check out & he said it was a great headset. My son opened it & tried it out on his xbox, pc & phone. He said it was awesome! It has : great sound, loves the retractable mic, the colors changing is just a bonus. I think he would of slept in the things if i would of let him. (ha ha) He packs these things in a backpack for sleep overs & they are very durable. It is now middle of march & he still loves the headset & it works great! DEF. A MUST HAVE! TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY!!

My wife got these for my for my birthday and at first I was ecstatic. Wireless headphones that light up!? Really cool! Right? Meh 2 different sound qualities- You can use the wireless system or the 3.5 jack on the left ear to listen to music. The wired sound quality is far superior than the wireless. When I use the wireless it cuts out a lot of quality and it sounds like I am listening to a 52kbbs Mp3. Wired sounds like a normal FLAC file. The rage of the headphones is the standard 20-20k hertz. Transmitter- The transmitter is huge! and it has a 3ft wire hooked up to it for the mic port in the back of a computer. They put a break away in the middle of the cord instead of at the transmitter itself for some reason so if I use the headphones' wireless feature anywhere there is a 3' cable hanging off my laptop. I might as well use the 3.5 jack on the headphones. 3 Audio profiles- only work on wireless if at all. I can not tell a difference between the three other than the mic changes color. Cups- I love over ear style headphones because of the ability to seal ambient noise and enjoy my music. These do not do that. The stiff pad never properly forms around my ears. LED colors- yeah they change color but only when you select a static color. There is no automatic color wheel or flashing effects. Size- They are heavy and made my ears tired after about 30 mins. I usually ware headphones for 5+ hours at work. They are rock solid though. You can twist on head band like crazy and they hold together. Overall disappointing. I'll stick to my O'neill Stretch headphone.

There are a lot of great things about this product but the best of all is the sound. It has such a fantastic sound quality that it rivals some very expensive corded headphones I used in the past. Surprised some found it unfomfortable. I wore it 8 hours straight once and i was very pleased with it. It's not quite lightweight but a serious gamer headphone with built in battery so i could tolerate that. Mic is perfect. There when you need it, tucks away when you're done yapping. I found it a bit on the sensitive side which is good for me since I don't like to speak loud but want to be heard. Lighting mode is fun to play with. My only complaint would be that the Afterglow headset doesn't remember which color I set it at and I have to adjust it again everytime I turn it on. Overall this is a fantastic product I'd highly recommend to any gamer.

    Great Universal Wireless headphones

I purchased these because I wanted wireless headphones to use when playing games or just watching TV late night. I hadn't come across any reviews that mentioned if this would work on home theater receivers, so, I thought I would mention it here. It does work! I have all my sound running through my receiver (gaming console, TV, BluRay). Plugging this into the 3.5mm headphone jack of my receiver works great as one central point for wireless streaming of sounds. The range is awesome with no static or drops in my 3200+ sq ft home. I do want to point out that I was encountering a low buzz/humm at first when plugging the USB adapter into the USB port of my receiver or into my FIOS receiver. However, when I plugged the USB adapter into a power outlet via an adapter, the humm totally went away. For someone wanting wireless headphones without spending at least $200, these are awesome. I had considered the Sony PULSE as well, but read numerous reviews with cracking issues after a short while.

    UNIVERSAL!

This is overall an ideal headset for a multi-platform user whether it'll be gaming, music, etc. I recommend getting this headset since its very cheap compare to other headsets and the sound can really rival other $$$ headset out their. The range you get from this headset is out of this world (well can reach at least 100 ft or more). It was lag free and I literaly walk around my house, into my garage while listening music and it just a pleasive time. I have used the other Afterglow wirelss with the expandable headband headset that was made before this Afterglow headset and that nearly was the same but the comfort was really bad from my experience. Only negative about this headset is comfort. The ear cups feel cheap like some Ross, or Marshall type headset, the headband cushion made with some type of leather (why didn't they just use that for the ear cups as well?) and feels quite well if you place it on your headset correctly and comfortably. Only negative is the comfort, but not as bad as Turtle Beach though. Get this if you're looking around in the market.

The sound is great for a price like this! The only thing that gets a bit annoying is the light on the microphone and if you wear them for a longer time, your ears start to hurt because of the padding. Otherwise it's definitely worth it! :)
