I must admit that I have not read any of the Percy Jackson books; however, I really enjoyed this movie. The special effects were great, and the vast cast of characters was a pleasant surprise. I didn't realize so many well-known actors & actresses were in this movie. Adults and kids will both enjoy this movie.

I loved the books. It is always hard when they are turned into movies because a movie can never be as good as the book. There just isn't enough time to describe all the details books include, plus it would get boring if a movie tried to do that. However, as adventure fiction movies go, this was entertaining and a great family film.

I loved the books. I can not wait for the House of Hades to come out in Oct. The movie really does not follow the book, but it was still made well. I will be following the movies to as long as they go. They already have a problem with the age of the main actor. So maybe if this does go the distance, the movies will have to be different.

If you love mythical Greek mixed with some modern day excitement, then you'll love this fantasy adventure with some great actors including Pierce Brosnan, Kevin McKidd, and Uma Thurman playing parts that bring back memories of our Literature days about Poseidon and Zeus...fun to watch...

If you've enjoyed the book series, then the movie does a good job in entertaining on the heavy visual side. The special fx are fun and of really decent quality. A modernized retelling of the Perseus myths that carries the story along at a good pace and allows you to cheer for the characters.

Overall the theme and plot of the movie are great. As a family friendly movie, it is a wonderful way to expose and get my two young daughters interested in Greek mythology. Hopefully the series will expand and include more movie beyond the current two that are available.

This movie has an exiting adventure of 2 kids and a protector that go on a quest to prove that Percy isn't the lightning thief. They go to amazing places and defeat mythical creatures. This is a movie that every family member will love and want to see again!!!

My family could not wait to see the movie after we had just finished reading the book. Unfortunately the film goes in a different direction on one of the major plots to the story. Still, this was a very good movie, especially if you enjoy Greek mythology.

Story is great and fantastic if you're into a lot of the Greek mythology, but can be tricky to follow if you aren't affluent with the names and meanings behind many of the characters. If you've enjoyed the books, this is an excellent translation.

I watched this movie in theater the first time and simply loved it. Borrowed from the library and also never missed when it was playing on TV. Finally have a copy for my personal collection at a very reasonable price.

I love Greek Mythology so I am always down for a movie like this. I saw it on sale inside the store and had to get it for my own collection. However whats great is that it age appropriate for the kids to watch with adults.

After my daughter read the book, she was on a quest to find the movie. she watched it several times and then narrated it as we watched it as a family. we all liked it and would recommend it for any family night movie viewing,

I just recently got into these movies and I rally dig the CGI special effects, the concept of kids who are children of the gods. I just really like movies that have good special effects and this was a really fun movie too.

I love Mythology and this movie got all those stories and make a new view of them. Instead of focus on Zeus as usual we got an excellent, funny and adventures life of the kids of the ancient gods. Adventure full time....

We get the movie because my older son had read the book and love it. The movie was a family opportunity to discuss the book and the movie. My kids had seen the movie over 10 times. They love the effects and thematic.

I bought this movie for my daughter and she liked it, giving it a 4. I asked her what she liked about it and said everything, but it didn't reach a level of 5 (she is 11 years old, btw). She has read all the books and is a fan.

IT WAS VERY ENTICEMENT TO WATCH JUST AS MUCH AS IF IT WAS IN A MOVIE HOUSE. I CANT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ONE COME OUT IN DECEMBER SO THAT I CAN WATCH THIS ONE ALSO.

I enjoyed this movie very much. I bought it for about $2.99. There was great cinematography and action scenes. The story line was great although there was some deviations from the book. Over all though, it was good.
