the Lightning Thief is a good movie. Not great, although your elementary age kid might think so. Your tweeners may ogle the actors and as their parent you might enjoy a few funny scenes and a few special effects. It is fun to see how characters tie in to Greek Mythology, if you know it, and who is who or begat by whom. Otherwise, unless you just love the Disney Channel, your attention may wander as an adult. It's a good one to sit though with your kids and create discussion and answer questions about the classical characters, so all in all, it gets a thumbs up.

I like any movie with Percy Jackson. This is one of his better ones. We like the fact that it comes with a Blu-ray and dvd. We like the fact that it is a steel book and wish more movies had them

Purchased for 10 year old grand-daughter. She enjoys reading the Percy Jackson series of books and very much liked this movie. Pretty true to the book and series.

Really liked this movie. It was entertaining and fun to watch. I loved that it didn't have swearing and inappropriate scenes that usually don't add any value to the plot anyways

I loved the first Percy Jackson movie so i got this one, but i have to say that i thought the first one was better. This movie is good and worth watching but i liked the first one more.

This next installment of the series is the best yet, still needs to incorporate more the book themes but does a good enough job keeping it true to the core of the series!!

Good movie for the kiddos. A few "minor" curse words, but nothing too offensive. My son said it did not mirror the book very well.

Yet another teen movie adapted on the big screen, but with some spectacular visual effects and a story which is refreshing with some good moments. Recommended for family entertainment.

Even tho these Percy Jackson movies are for kids found myself really enjoying them - lots of fun!

This is a fantastic movie. Teenage kids will love this and they will also love the books that go with these movies! Fantastic way to introduce some greek mythology concepts.

I thought it was a good movie, although I haven't read the books. People who have read the series will tell they took liberties with the storyline.

I bought this movie for my son who is a teenager. He enjoyed the movie very much, as did my other son . They have watched it multiple times.

We had a movie night with friends. They weren't enthuastic about watching it, but I put it in to play. After they watched it they thought it was a really good movie

Percy finally learns about his lineage and the pettiness the Olympian Gods. Family friendly movie with good special effects.

like this very much. this was purchased to replace a lost copy. we enjoyed the second movie also. i dont know why they arent making any more of the movies.

A nice movie adaptation of a favorite book series. Great after reading the book.

despite having some similarities with Harry Potter this was a fun film in its own right because of the script's literate and generally accurate take on the Greek myths.
