We bought a new vehicle without a built-in entertainment system like our previous ride, figuring aftermarket would be way cheaper. It is definitely cheaper, but there are some definite tradeoffs. This system is easy to use and being able to show two different movies at the same time is fantastic. One major drawback (aftermarket vs built in) is trying to get a movie inserted or even playing once you are driving - there is not remote and therefore definitely requires some manual intervention. That being said it works great and even sounds decent.

The only downside to this product is the lack of a battery. That would give it 5 stars. However for traveling in a car on long trips my son uses it to watch his children's shows in the backseat. You can also hook them up to a regular outlet inside a house which doubles their usage as a stationary dvd player which you can output through A/V cables to a much larger screen. The sound while in a car driving down the road is loud enough that I can hear it in the front seat if I turn the radio down. Great product for great price.

Great sound and picture. Would be nice if it had come with a remote control. Buttons are easy access and easy to operate.

I recently purchased these 2 Dual DVD players for a weekend road trip for my boys and they worked out great. The straps easily wrap around your seats so they can be seen from the back seat. I like the fact that 2 DVDs can be seen at the same time especially when you have 2 boys who like to watch different things. They are portable as well so we were able to take DVD's down to our hotel and kids watched movies inside the room. TV is good quality and sound is good too. Over all I was happy with DVD's.

This purchase may well have saved our sanity! With a 7 year old and an 78 year old in the back seat on a very long road trip it is truly a blessing!! By using ear phones the back seat crew is happy with their own movies and the front seat adults can visit without having to contend with the loud noise. The units are easy to operate and provide a nice clear picture. The only con is the way it fastens on the seat. If the front seat passenger moves around much it can come unhooked and drop to the floor.

Highly recommend this product. Our kids love it! Used it for a long road trip and the kids were able to install and use it on their own without adult help. Loved having the possibility of watching 2 films simultaneously. Head phones were great also. All for a great price compared to factory installed video player.

my husband and i bought this because we were looking for a dvd player for each of our cars. You can use an extra power cord and put each player in a different vehicle Because each player can play it's own dvd. We have noticed on one of the players, though, that wen you go over a bump, it opens. We are using a and strip to keep it closed because it won't leave a residue. This is the reason for the 4 stars. Volume is great and picture quality is great!

Bought this for a month long road trip with our 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter. The fact that they can simultaneously watch 2 different movies was a life saver (and sanity saver). Players worked great and took a lot of abuse. Bonus in the fact that they can be used outside of the car. The kids watched movies in our rental properties as well since there is a wall plug and kick stand for vertical viewing. Thinking of using it in the kitchen while I'm cooking large meals. :O) Hope they last for years worth of road trips.

After the exchange of the first set of these portable DVD players (we purchased the 4 year Beat Buy warranty) we are happy. We have purchased several DVD players for long car rides and overall the functionality on these is great. The first set we had, had a broken clasp on the closing mechanism, but other than that we have been fairly satisfied. The picture quality is great, my kids are able to load/unload/play with no help from the front seat and the quality is the best we've seen.

We bought a new car and it does not have an entertainment system so we purchased these so my kids (ages 8 and 9) would have something to occupy their time on long drives. We like the fact that each one plays its own DVD so there is no fighting but if they choose they can link them up to watch the same. My only complaint is I wish the straps that go around the front seat was longer.

It has a pretty clear picture and sound. Easy to hook up and strap to the back seat. Kept the kids quiet!

This was a recent purchase for us over Easte. Wanted the BuRay but not in stock. We have had two sets previously and they all seem to last about 3 - 4 years. Usually have to buy a disk cleaning kit to keep them from locking up after the 3rd year. Kids love the feature to share the same movie or watch different ones at same time

My wife and I bought these for the vehicles. Kids can watch their own independent movies or the same movies. Had them for over six months now and highly recommend for the price.

We had a built in DVD player in the celing of our last car. This portable system is much better quality. It works great. It would be nice if they had an internal battery so it could run when it's portable without being plugged in. And also I wish it had a remote that could be used to control it from the driver seat. It's almost impossible to reach any of the controls from the driver seat or even the passenger seat. But it plays DVDs well and that what we got it for.

Great quality for the cost. Second set I've purchased, first set lasted just over one year before mechanical issues. Bought the warranty this time, well worth it. Just wish they had remotes.

These are great my kids love them. We've had them about 5 months now. I shopped around awhile because I wanted ones that they could watch either the same or different movie. I didn't want either or! The cord is the only complaint as its very thin and accidentally was caught when a seat slid and therefore we had to get a new one from Phillips. So just be wary of the cord for that reason. But these are great units, super easy to use and install my 7 year old learned all controls quickly.

Bought this so my 5 year old and 2 year old could have something to watch on a total 8 hour trip. It worked perfectly. I like how it starts from where it left off when its turned off. You can play 2 separate DVD's or 1 DVD for both screens. By switching one wire (10 seconds) you can switch which DVD player is the main controller. We were driving and my 5 year old wanted to watch what the 2 year old was watching. Plugged in the cord and she was watching the other dvd with-in seconds. When I first set it up I used tape to secure some of the wires together so it wouldn't get in the way, there are a few wires that could become tangled in your kids feet.

If you think that you will have another child down the road - you might as well go ahead and buy the 2 for a much better price. Picture is good and it is easy to use.
