Customers appreciate the Air Fryer's ease of use and cooking performance, with many citing its simple operation and ability to produce well-cooked food. The compact design is seen as both a benefit for smaller kitchens and a drawback for those needing to cook larger portions. While some find the noise level acceptable, the temperature control and overall design also receive positive feedback.

    Low Fat Goodness.....

My wife and I decided to dip into the ‘alternate appliances’ pool again after falling in love with pressure cookers in recent months, to try our luck at something we were a little dubious about….air fryers. Mentally, frying has always been generally low-use to verboten in our household, because we are getting older and working harder to eat right and stay fit. We started to catch all the buzz around air fryers recently, and wondered if we were missing something. As it turns out, we were. The only negative piece of the review I can offer is this: I didn’t get a big enough unit. We had a choice of the regular air fryer or the XXL, and she talked me out of the big boy. Regrets. Lots of regrets. Where to start? Form and function- it is pretty sleek and simple, ours is gloss black and looks great on the counter (it actually makes the pressure cooker look fairly frumpy….) and I’m not sure there is an easier device to use. You have a dial to select cooking temperature, and a knob on the front that controls time, it doesn't get much easier than that. The handle pulls out the cooking chamber assembly, and if you have done your research on air fryers, you know that it is essentially a small convection oven. The chamber design is pretty neat and simple, a cook basket for the food with a raised perforated plate on the bottom that allows the heat to spin around the food, and any generated fat or grease can run down into the bottom. Easy fat removal and reduction, and it works extremely well at that. The internals are easily removable to wash, and I don’t mind the effort (minimal, it is all non-stick) in that I am getting all the grease out of the food product. This is where the real homerun was for me…I’ve thrown a good amount of everything at this particular Philips unit, and have yet to be disappointed. I love crispy foods, and this is where the unit delivers. I have beena ble to eat things I haven’t eaten in twenty years (fish sticks anyone?), along with the standards like chicken wings and fingers, dumplings, and my wife’s homemade experiment with her own pickle chips, and everything was uniformly crispy on the outside, yet tender and moist on the inside. Chicken was not one bit dry, the fish was flaky and tasted great, and while we thought the pickle chips might really be the test that fell apart...they were great. Easy cook, easy cleanup, and an internal motor and fan that really gets whatever we throw at it done, and done quickly. Also a HUGE homerun if you are a leftovers person. Leftovers like fries re-therm and crisp up amazingly. I used to throw fries away, or tell the waitress to not bag them because soggy. No more, this thing serves them up as if it were the first time. While it is not technically getting us to the healthiest servings of food we envision most days, it is a great way to get reacquainted with some foodstuffs we let go for good reasons, allowing us the enjoyment without all of the guilt. Can’t say enough about this air fryer, other than hoping it grows overnight so I can throw a whole chicken into it.

    Healthiest way to cook meat.

The Airfryer one of the best inventions ever created, there’s no better way to fry without oil than this. There is not much science behind how this thing works, a heating coil and a fan circulating hot air, similar to an over but smaller, better, and faster. I was much impressed with how quiet it was, and how it heated almost instantly. This airfryer has two analog dials, one for the timer up to 30 min, and the heating dial that goes up to 400 Farenheights. In the box is comes with the airyfer, basket with a removable mesh, a fat reducer adapter, manual and a recipe book. I grabbed a bag of frozen curly fries straight from the fridge dumped it in the basket cooked them with no oil for approx 15 min at 325F and they were ready to eat, 10 additional minutes and they come out crispy. I have done Salmon, chicken breast, pork loin, and steak, you will be amazed how your food taste with this thing. If you are on a protein diet there is no better way to cook meat than this thing. In this airfryer you can fit a whole chicken it will fit as long is not the size of a turkey. Somtimes is recommended to brush the meat or fries with olive oil, you don’t have too, I cooked with no oil and food come out perfect. Most meat require to be flipped to be cooked even, all you have to do is pull the tray and flip them, then put the tray back in. The cleaning portion is very easy, once you take the tray out almost everything or removable including the pan handle. I recommend to wash it with soft sponge is you don’t use a dishwasher, that way you don’t damage the non stick protection on the mesh and the tray, also try to use rubber tongs when flipping the food. One thing the manufacturer fail to mention was the capacity on this Airfryer, it is not on the box, the manual, neither the website specifications, the only thing I found was 0.8KG for fries, I believe it has to be approx 2Q maybe less. Another thing I kind of dislike is that the actual dispenser is about the same size of the airfryer but with the required attachments you lose cooking space. Overall this is one the best way to cook a healthy meal and fast, and the glossy black look will fit any decoration in your kitchen, it is versatile and easy to clean.

The Philips HD 9721/96 Airfryer is an attractive plastic compact unit with simple analog controls for setting the temperature and timer. I like the simplicity of these controls and I don’t miss the digital controls from more expensive units. At the top of the unit are nice icons showing recommended settings for certain types of foods. For example, there is an icon of frozen potato sticks with the setting 350 degrees and 14 to 18 minutes. Inside the package was the Airfryer, a User’s Manual, a simple recipe book, a removable bottom mesh grill and the star shaped fat reducer. Setup and installation was simple. Just remove some packing tape holding the pan and basket in the unit Remove the pan Use the release button on the handle to remove the basket from the pan. Place the star shaped fat reducer on the bottom of the pan Place the removable bottom mesh grill in the basket Put the basket back into the pan. Put the pan back into the Airfryer. The User’s Manual was a little confusing because it shows some optional equipment (baking pan, double-layer rack, non-stick grill pan) that only comes with other models of the Airfryer. I’ve been hearing great things about air fryers, how versatile they are, and how every food comes out really great from them. People rave about them so I really wanted to see what all the fuss is about. So far, I’ve used the Airfryer for frozen food and snacks such as chicken strips, chicken nuggets, tater tots, steak cut potato fries and they all came out fantastic. They were all crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. They come out much better compared to using my old toaster oven. For the first time I decided to try cooking some fresh food. I decided to try something super simple for my first dish so I tried to cook some naked drumsticks by just rubbing some seasoning (Lawry's Seasoned Salt) on it and they came out really good. The skin was crispy and the inside was so juicy. I was surprised that something so simple and easy to make could come out so good. The Philips HD9721/96 Airfryer is a fun kitchen gadget that is very convenient, makes great tasting dishes and is simple to use. It makes me look forward to exploring and trying out different recipes on it.

    Sleek Compact Air Fryer

Having an air fryer is a must have kitchen countertop appliance. The Philips Air Fryer offers a sleek and compact product at a relatively competitive price. I have cooked mozzarella sticks, stuffed jalapeno poppers, chicken wings, and a chicken breast in it so far with perfect results. Pros: * It heats to the set temperature almost instantly saving you time from having to preheat your oven to make food. It worked great for making frozen snacks as well as cooking a chicken breast/wings; however, expect to cook up to or slightly past the upper recommended time limit for a more crispy texture. It has a standard temperature guide on top of the product for different foods. * It is very compact making it easy to store. * The fryer is easy to disassemble and clean. It only took me a few minutes. Many of the parts are labeled as dishwasher safe. * Includes a recipe book with ideas on dishes to cook in the air fryer. Cons: * The temperature gauge is a manual wheel on the top of the product. A digital gauge would be preferable, especially given how advanced technology has become. * There is no pause option. * Given the compact size, you are limited in what you can cook. The wire basket can hold a standard chicken breast but nothing larger. Overall, I think this air fryer does a great job. For the price, I would expect some additional features like a digital temperature gauge and the ability to pause it. If you are looking for a nice and compact unit, this may a near perfect option.

    What A Great Air Fryer!

We’ve been using our new Philips Air Fryer for about a week and have been very pleased with it. It does a great job cooking up snacks and dinner items for the family....in many situations more quickly than the oven. We’ve used it for French fries, Tater Tots, and Chicken Strips. It’s done a great job producing cooked and crispy food without oil. It’s not too loud. It’s not silent, you know it’s running, but it’s not an annoying type of noise. Simple to use and easy to clean. Key thing to remember is half way through the cooking process, remove the basket and either shake the contents (like with tots or fries) or flip the items over (like with chicken strips) to ensure an even cook.

When I initially opened up the box to this air fryer i was a little surprised with how this fryer was designed, it a kin to an older microwave. Not knocking older microwaves, but my point is that the looks and feel are just a little clunky and outdated. The color is black and not stainless steel, the dials are not digital, the setting pictures even remind me of past generations small appliances. The service size that this fryer can hold is around 2-4 services, depending on the item, which is a minor down fall in my opinion. That aside, this is a great example that looks are not everything. Owning an air fryer is new for me but i can honestly say that for what it lacks from a looks standpoint it makes up in functional convenience. Cooking has been cut in half for most items that are applicable to be used in this appliance. Juicy meats and Non-water soaked yet crisp veggies. It seems magical to me, and it actually is. All in all, i do recommend picking one up. Even though the cosmetics are a tad dated, the products that are produces are top notch and cooked to perfection!

The Philips Air fryer is a great way to "Fry" food with little to no oil and for a more healthy meal. Right out of the box the Fryer can be used with very little set up. The Unit is somewhat basic with a dial for setting the unit's temperature and an old fashioned rotary timer. Both do a good job for quick settings. The Fryer has a good size cooking capacity in the cooking basket. Accessories can be purchased to bake in the Fryer and a rack to cook multiple items at once. I was very surprised by the ease of use and the quality of the food we are able to make.

If you are looking to replace a deep fryer, then I would suggest this. It's not exactly the same, the fries to come out great without having to use oil. I was somewhat sceptical, but surprised that it works pretty good. You can also use it to bake things that you probably wouldn't with a deep fryer, and no need to remember to change the oil after some usage. It's pretty easy to clean too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it doesn't have a digital controls so you need to turn dials. Maybe just a preference for me, but overall still a good product.

This thing is so amazing, and I've eaten chicken 3 days in a row. LOL...seriously. The technology that went into air fryers is great, and I'm still surprised that there is no grease...just air. Look at the picture I added, it's amazing. The food is tasty, as it cooks more than chicken. But everything you put in here, will be great. Easy to use, and easy to clean. What more could I ask for? Buy it...

Good for Frozen Snacks, Some Issues Otherwise

I've been interested in trying out an air fryer but with limited space, I did not want to deal with storing a larger appliance until I felt confident I'd like the technology enough to devote significant counter space and drawer space to one. The Philips Airfryer allowed me to test this out with a compact device that sits on the counter top with about the same footprint as my mixer. Similarly, it fits in existing cabinets when not in use and so it's not a hassle to actually use it on a regular basis. The downside is that you're limited in the volume and size of food that can be air fried at any one time but this works out for me as I wasn't planning on doing whole chickens or turkeys anyway. The air fryer is easy to use. I started with frozen fries, because it would be both quick and be easy to not overload the basket and that went well. Just set the timer and fryer temp via knobs and go. Fries came out really well and were done quickly. Not faster than it would take my oven to warm up, but certainly faster than it would have taken to warm up the oven and then bake the fries. They were also crispier than my oven tends to get fries. Typically, there's some soggy effect from having previously been frozen. So certainly, things are looking good on the quick frozen snack front. My next experiment was with bacon pulled from the fridge. While this did crisp it up, it also extracts a lot of the fat or oil. That can be a good thing if you love bacon and want to get it a bit healthier but I buy the thick cut bacon for a reason! However, it resulted in a lot of smoking - from the bacon fat essentially burning on the heating element. Ok, so lesson learned - try using the fat reducer attachment. A second run after cleaning out the fryer worked a lot better in terms of reducing smoke, however, I still got some, even with the fat reducer (a nice term for fat collector). Trying this out with defrosted chicken yielded similar results. Fatty meat seems to be a potential issue for indoor use. On a lark, since this seemed to work more for my frozen snacks, I tried air frying some frozen wings. Those actually came out much better with essentially no smoking. I did leave the fat reducer in though post frying, there wasn't much there so one may not need it. Still, looking online, I found recommendations to always use the fat reducer attachment. The frozen wings also came out crispy - which again is a feat my oven has a hard time duplicating without more prep and handling on my part. So, this airfryer seems to be good if you're prepping some snacks and if you're not already cooking something in the oven, will save you time. For non-frozen foods, your results will vary and it may not be the best for indoor use. I'm going to look for an airfryer specific recipe book so I can find more options for foods I normally have at home to try out. I was a bit surprised at the fat eliminating aspect of this. So even if there wasn't the smoke issue (say due to better design or bigger capacity so you could cook a smaller amount and capture more fat), there's a certain amount of fat that I actually want in my foods - that's the whole point of buying specific cuts or leanness of meat. I'm not sure being able to handle the occasional frozen snack preparation is enough to sell me on air fryers.

Say Goodbye to Oven and Deep Oil Frys - Go for it

I never used Air fryer before, I always thought how come it does things without oil and oven. But This Air Fryer proved me wrong. This Air Fryer is not digital, It is Analog Air Fryer, meaning you have to set time and temp using wheel. I really loved it. Machine is not hot outside while cooking which is good. Makes little bit noise like Computer fan which is ok, no need to worry about. Cleaning is super easy, you can just put the basket items in Dishwasher and oil collecting tray. btw - Oil is not mandatory but for me minimum oil is must :) to get the best taste. Package comes up with recipe cookbook which i really liked it. We tried potato frys and chicken. Both came out really well. But to be honestly, I am not a cooking expert so i struggled little bit for half day to find out right timer and temp setting for chicken and potato. I really liked it, just within 40 Minutes you can cook delicious chicken. Btw - You can pull out the cup with handle while it is cooking and shake the items or turn it around and put it back, so good. I really liked this feature, so that we can check the food how well it is done and all. Btw - Do not encourage kids to go near and play with it while it is cooking, if they pull out and touches it will be hot. I really liked this product, You will not regret of buying.

The first thing I started cooking as soon as I got my AirFryer- apple crisp chips. It's an easy setup, but the unfortunate thing about it - it takes about 90 minutes. However, after coming home from work, 90 mins is about the appropriate time in which I am ready for a snack - so starting it when I walk in the door is perfect timing. Faster snacks? Plantain chips and mushrooms are ready to eat in less than 30 minutes. The fryer itself isn't what I consider "large," but my friends with their own fryers say it is large. It's about as tall as my microwave, and fits nicely between it and my stove top. It is a good idea to leave it near the kitchen air vent as it will naturally fill the room with scent of whatever you are cooking. It's very easy to detach parts and clean. It also comes with a handy recipe sample booklet, as well as the ability to download the AirFryer app which gives you plenty of searchable recipes specifically for the AirFryer. The one minor issue with using the app was that the Air Fryer box doesn't specifically mention the model number. It just says "Premium." However, on the bottom of the Airfryer it shows model of HD9721 - this is a bit important as the app changes the settings/times based on your model of Airfryer. I will eventually go onto cooking actual meals, but I always had this in mind for quick daily snacks, and it is excellent at it.

Given our small kitchen, the last thing my wife thought we needed was another countertop appliance. After only 1 week, she or one of my children use this at least 1x per day and at times for every meal! This air fryer is basically a supercharged convection oven. Pizza, frozen snacks, raw chicken, hamburgers, fries...you name it! If you'd grill it, deep fry it or bake it you can cook it in this unit faster...and so far the results are better than any other method! It has a variable thermostat, easy clean basket and removable food basket and heats up fast! The hot air blows out the back, so you need ot make sure there's clearance behind the unit when cooking. Small footprint...large capacity...easy clean. This is a great addition to any kitchen.

I did not know exactly what to expect from this air fryer. I did think after a little investigating that Phillips made some of the best air fryers and so far we have not been disappointed with this one. It would be nice if it were a little larger so we could cook enough meat and potatoes for everyone at the same time. However, everyone has been very impressed with what we have cooked in it. Chicken Tenders and french fries taste great out of this thing. I would say definitely better than a regular oven. It heats up faster than the oven and cooks quicker. The results are crispier food more in line with deep frying without the extra oil and grease. I had been cooking a lot of food in the toaster oven for myself like leftovers that I want to taste fresh again or precooked meats and french fries. Since we got this air fryer I have found that I prefer to use it whenever possible. One thing to note is that if you try using the app this model is a little hard to find. I had to pick a different model and then go into the settings and change it to the right series. Furthermore, while there are a few recipes with the cooking instructions in the owner's manual plus a limited number in the app. I was disappointed that there were not more recipes. I would really like to see a larger variety of recipes in the app especially. I was not very impressed with the app and feel like more effort needs to be put into it. Additionally, I am tech-savvy and figured out how to pick the right fryer but neither my wife or my mother-in-law could figure it out. That tells me that the average user will also have problems setting up the app. While the app is not necessary to cook with the Philipps air fryer I was excited to see that an app was available but after using it I was disappointed by the lack of recipes and would like it to be simplified and more streamlined. Overall, my opinion is that everyone should have an air fryer in their kitchen and it seems like to me that the Phillips air fryer is a great choice no matter which model you pick!

I love fried food but, hate frying at home. I can't stand the way it makes the house smell and the clean up is such a pain. I'd been interested in Air Fryers for some time and finally decided to get one. When it arrived, it was much larger then I expected. After making some counter space I gave it a try. I figured french fries would be a good first meal and I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. They really did taste good. Cleaning it out was surprisingly easy. But DUH if there isn't grease all over everything, of course, it's an easy cleanup. And since there isn't grease everywhere, my apartment doesn't stink. I tried it with chicken wings next time and they were great. I can't wait to try it for sweet plantains. In fact, I have a whole list of things I want to try out. I guess it's an added bonus that now I'm more likely to cook at home. Maybe it'll save me money over eating out.

Due to recent dietary restrictions, my family has had to look for recipes and cooking techniques that were out of our “norm” and eat at home almost exclusively, putting our oven space at a premium. Enter the Philips airfryer. It’s a relatively basic, analog unit which means none of the fancy preprogrammed options, but it gets the job done. In a hurry. Although Philips says it cooks 1.5x faster than an oven, my experience has been that it cuts cooking time by 25-35% or so. Still a time saver for sure. There are two easy-to-read dials for time and temperature settings that I’ve found to be relatively accurate. We have roasted vegetables, fried potatoes of various kinds, and made homemade spring rolls so far. All have turned out quite good. I will say, with larger loads of fries/potatoes, I have found it necessary to shake the basket once or twice during cooking to ensure everything gets done evenly. The airflow seems good, but for some reason potatoes are a bit of an issue. The fan is not whisper quiet, but it’s also not annoyingly loud. You can still have a conversation while the unit is running without feeling like you’re having to shout. The great part about airfrying is there is almost no need to use oil (which is important to our family’s restrictions) but food still comes out tasty and crisp. Philips includes a recipe book and the ability to download an app with many more. (I haven’t taken the time to get the app because I didn’t think there will be much that will fit our diets so I can’t comment on the app itself). The size is about perfect when cooking for 3 but if you have a much larger family it might be a bit on the small side. Once you get done cooking, cleanup is easy because everything is dishwasher safe which is another time-saver. The integrated cord storage is a nice touch so you’re not dragging a cord behind or snagging it when pulling it out for use. All in all, I have found this to be a pretty good addition to our cooking arsenal.
