This DVD player has the picture quality very similar to that of a blue-ray for a fraction of the price. It was very easy to hook-up. Only complaint is that it takes a while to initially open to allow you to insert the disc. It obviously plays DVDs with no problem. Good product for the price.

This is a low-priced DVD player, no bells and whistles, no Blue-Ray, just plays DVDs, but does the job well. As my grandmother used to say, less parts, less parts to break.

Have had several Phillips products. All of them have performed well. Very good product line for budget-conscious, as well as anybody who wants good value for the money spent.

This DVD player is perfect for the location (high shelf in the bedroom among the stuffed animals) so I can watch some of our 400+ discs without distraction while my husband watches different shows in the living room - mostly old series he's DVR'd. It's small, light, works great, great price. Very glad I bought it!

I really love this DVD player. It so easy to use and easy to store due to it's compact size. Couldn't of picked a better one and it has 1080p, which works great with my tv.

Good DVD player, but the door panel is very loud when it opens and closes. Other than that, it's a great buy for the money

I had bought this for my parents, to replace their old, old dvd player. It was easy enough for them to set up on their own with out my help (remind you neither of them are remotely close to being "tech savy"). They both feel like the up-scalling of the 1080p has improved pictures for them when watching their dvd's. Good product. Anyone looking for a regular dvd player will enjoy.

I've purchased two of these DVD players in the last two months. I purchased a new TV for my den and wanted to get a DVD player as well. The price for this unit was lower than the previous unit because it was an open box sale. Everything was there in the box (nothing missing) and it came with the full factory warranty so to me it was a great deal. The player works fine. I noticed that when you open the drive it does make a sort of mechanical noise, but that's just the mechanism working. All of the functions work as they should and I'm pleased with the purchase. I can recall paying over $500 years ago when these DVD players first came to market. Now to pay something like $39 is just unbelievable. This player will do what you want it to do.

Recommend for a person on a tight budget It works for those who are not looking for something fancy

I like this player. It looks cool, is small & light. It easy to start up & use. The pic looks great. So, so far, so good :)
