These are great! I've purchased them for both of my parents as gifts and they love them too. I did not think I was going to use the color options much but I always have them set to a color rather than a white. I highly recommend putting multiple bulbs in the same room to create the best ambiance with the different colors. The option to have the lights turn on or off when you get a certain distance from your home is awesome.

Ok i will agree, it does not take much effort to get up and turn on and off a light. However wen you are in bed after an exhausting day, telling google to turn off your lights does not sound like such a bad idea. Or when you get home late and have a couple of grocery items. Enter Phillips Hue, i have this set up in my living room and bedroom and i must say i enjoy the different colors. I mostly use the festive colors when i am hosting, i.e. game nights, but other than that i like the bright white light color. I love the ability to dim the lights and it works with my phone, my Logitech remote, and my google home. Easier than being comfortable in bed and the Mrs telling you to get up and turn off the light. I recommend the changing lights for common areas, i mean truly you would not need this for your bedroom, lets be real why would you need a green or red light in your bedroom. But to each their own.

After watching smart home videos for Alexa I came across the Hue lights and became obsessed. I purchased the starters pack a few days later and have to say, these things are amazing. Between the ease of setup, the Alexa control and the seemingly endless possibility for combinations of lighting, I am hooked. Now I just need to add more lights and although pretty expensive it’s already something I think is worth it.

Love these lights. At first I was hesitant due to the price, but after doing some research they last longer than incandescent, use much less power, and best of all the colors are beautiful. The light from CFL is just gross (IME). There's all kinds of apps for it (3rd party, free, paid) and Philips has been great about adding new features to their app and releasing more Hue products. The price was ~40% cheaper when I picked up some more Dec 2017 (cheaper than buying 4 bulbs separately, so now I have a spare hub), I thought maybe that price drop was going to be permanent. It's currently back up to $200. Even at $200, it's still a better deal than when I first bought my Hue starter kit -- which only came with 3 bulbs + hub.

Although a little over priced for a light bulb, I thoroughly enjoy having the Philips HUE lighting in my house. I have them paired with my Amazon Echo and turning the lights on via voice is as easy as turning on a light switch! I use these lights every night when light is needed, not to mention the millions of colors I can choose for all my insane parties! Highly recommended when paired with a smart home device!

This is my second set of Philips Hue color and white ambiance bulbs. I received a starter kit last year and have enjoyed its capabilities, especially when paired with Amazon's Alexa. This set came with 4 bulbs vs 3 and was on sale. The deal in comparison to buying the bulbs separately was too good to pass up. As for the product itself... love all the recipes one can create with the variety of apps available.

Really easy to install. Lots of fun with lots of cool colors and scenes. But is very expensive and there are only so many types of lamps that you can put these lights into. Mini ceiling fans and other overhead lights do not take these types of lightbulbs

I waited until a great holiday price to purchase these lights. I had the white hue lights for over a year. They worked well and I really didn't need colored lights, but it has been fun playing with them. I have them in the bedroom and the TV room, both rooms where the light color can be helpful for sleep, waking or movie viewing. I like them, but I would not pay full price for them.

Got the Hue Lights Kit plus some extras and couldn't be happier. Some people (including my brother) will think its not necessary, and it may be true, but when you realize how USEFUL these lights are, they are worth it. Being able to control your lights as your are coming home hands full in the dark, or making sure you turned off your lights when you are in your car leaving or going to bed feeling super tired or sick... Trust me they are USEFUL. Now as for the color part, I have used the color spectrum like no other. I used it for Holiday family entertainment, for playing video games, and for making lounging on the couch/watching movies a true joy. My girlfriend loved how the brightness can be controlled and the color can be changed to a relaxed or soft feel. If you have the money or if you find them on sale, I highly recommend you get these lights!

My boyfriend is an electronic nerd. We had a Best Buy store credit from a return on his birthday gift and he chose to buy these “smart bulbs.” I was hesitant but gave in and these are so awesome. We use our iPhones to turn them on and off and change the brightness and colors. I was definitely surprised by how much I like them. I’m considering buying more for our apartment.

Bright, excellent colors, and exceptional dimming capabilities. The Hue phone application isn't the greatest but there are others out there that work well. I would recommend buying the switch with it for ease of control in conjunction with the phone application. You can also get an app on your computer, which is convenient when working at a desk or studying, etc...

I have owned sever generations of hue lights and continue to upgrade and buy more. The price of these were too good to pass up and now have the entire home done with hue lights including garage bathrooms etc... hue lights are hands down one of my favorite Best Buy purchases and I will continue to integrate them in my home as hue releases new items to the roster.

I like all the different colors and dimming feature. Very expensive.

We happened to be in Best Buy and noticed these. We were looking for some lights with colored options. We really liked these bulbs as now we can choose the colors (Reading, White light, sunrise, sunset etc) Overall very happy with the product. Was very easy to setup and instructions were easy to follow. Only reason giving it a 4 star is because of the price of the product. Wish it wasn't as expensive.

Easy to set up and easy to use. Great setup for Holiday lighting.

Very happy with these. Easy set up and synchronization with Alexa app. and with Siri. Took a photo of a painting and used it as a new scene. Lights adjusted to it perfectly. A bit pricey, but new tech usually is.
