We were looking at both the Ikea smart lights and Philips hue lights. Because of reviews we read we went with the Hue lights and haven't been disappointed. They were easy to setup and work with our Google home great. Would recommend them to anyone.

I've been building out my Hue network of lights and this was a nice addition. I use these in my living room and they provide a nice light for any activity. I mounted the wall switch right by my garage door entrance so now I can turn on a light when I return home late at night. For some reason my house was built without a switch at this location. I also like programming the lights to come on and go off at times during the day.

Once I figured out that an App was needed to install, it was easy. However, the instructions were not extensive enough to guide me there

This is my first experience with Philips Hue. I use HomeSeer as my home automation system. I also use Apple's HomeKit. Phillips Hue hub was a breeze to install and configure on my iPhone 7 Plus. It was also very easy to integrate it into my home automation. Love the colors, both from entertainment aspect, as well as functional ambiance. I do understand, and agree, that Philips's approach with generations and various part numbers for items that are seemingly identical is very confusing. I just got this latest bridge, three color bulbs, and one light strip. This may not be the most financially smart choice, since there are other alternatives. However, from purely technical standpoint, so far it has been very smooth and pleasant experience.

I've been looking at the Phillips Hue lights for a while, but then I was waiting for Apple HomeKit support and it got that, but I really didn't want to invest in $60 multi-color bulbs so I never got around to buying into the Hue lights. But then they released this kit with the Ambiance bulbs. These bulbs are perfect for what I wanted. I really wanted bulbs that would cover the "white" color spectrum. What is nice is that you can turn them full up and get the daylight color which includes the blue light that you don't want at night. But then when night rolls around you can turn them over to a softer reddish color that eliminates the blue light which isn't good for when you are ready to go to sleep. We started out putting these in the lamps by bed so at night you can have the nice reddish color that helps with sleep. And turn it down so they just glow and make for a nice night light until you are ready to turn them off. It's also great for the kids. And the lights work so well I've started putting them everywhere in the house. I've found that they just work. And now instead of walking to the bedroom in the dark I can leave all the lights on and when I get to bed I just turn all the lights off at once from the app. The wall switch works great as well. Very well designed. It basically only controls one "scene" but it lets you cycle through multiple brightness settings that you have configured for those bulbs. And the nice feature about it is that while it has a wall plate and you can easily mount it by the door or wherever, the actual switch is magnetic and sticks to the plate so you can just grab it on the way to bed and put it on your nightstand to control the lights at night, for instance.. I've just not had any issues with the setup and it just plain works. I've been using them for a month or so now I guess and I couldn't be happier with all my bulbs... I plan to replace all the lights in the house with them. Oh, and give them a try with Amazon Alexa. It's so nice to just be able to tell Alexa to turn a light on when I don't have my phone handy. Alexa actually works a bit better than it does from Siri. Alexa just says OK when you tell her to turn a light on. Siri gets a bit chatty.

Love these. Have the Living room and master bedroom set up all hooked up to voice commands through Alexa. Also use the sunrise feature for waking in the morning. Worth the price. Went with the White ambiance vs. color. The color felt a little gimmicky to me.

I bought an older house which has no overhead lighting and no switches wired to any outlets. For 5 years, I have been using a clapper to turn on the lights. When I saw the Hue in the store, I decided to give it a try after some research. Bought it on sale and couldn't be more happy. Setup was surprisingly simple. The hub is on the second floor and the lights are on the first floor. There is no connectivity issues whatsoever. I installed the app on an ipad mini. Very easy to use! The dimmer is great too. I stuck it to the wall next to the door. Magnets hold strong! Fricking best thing ever!

We set it up to turn on slowly in the mornings so its not so pitch black, we like the different ambiance depending on what we are doing and the convenience of pairing it with SIRI for voice commands. Very happy and will be adding more shortly.

I got four of these lights to work with my Amazon Alexa device. After downloading the Hue app to my phone and iPad, I can turn the lights on and off with Alexa or my other device. You can set various scenes to change the color and brightness of the lights. The kit came with a remote device that can also turn the lights on and off as well as change the brightness. You have to remember to leave the lights on in order for Alexa to turn them on and off with the voice command. I plan to get a couple more of these lights to complete my lighting project.

My main goal was to install under cabinet lighting. The Hue lightstrips require a bridge to be able to do any adjusting to brightness or color. This starter package included the bridge and switch I was looking for. The switch has a magnet, so it sticks to the side of the fridge, or can be screwed or stuck to the wall. Using the Hue app you can set the switch to control the accompanying lights, the lightstrip, or both. The lights in this starter kit can be adjusted to different shades of white. Easy installation.

Decent amount of brightness. The ability to customize the colour offer a lot of versatility. The hub and app make it an excellent product.

Awesome lights!! Very easy to se up. I paired them with the Amazon Elexa and they work perfect. Will be buying more in the near future!

Works as described. Is so convenient. I use the remote control and Amazon's Alexa to control the lights. Very easy install and setup.

We are using this kit and have no complaints. We like the many programs for turning off/on lights in the house. We like the remote option on the side. We like that we can use our mobile phones, the remote control button, and our voices to turn off/on lights.

Works well with Alexa. I have 5 devices on the hue bridge and all controlled through Alexa, setting up was also easy.

This is a great starter kit if you're looking for more bang for your buck. You get the bridge needed to power the lights and the two white lights for significantly cheaper than if you were to buy it all separately. The only draw back for me was that the lights were only white and I wanted colored ones. I bought this for and family member along with the amazon echo dot to control it! Works great with the alexact technology and very easy to set up.

I bought this starter set and bought 4 more bulbs to complete my system. The lights respond fast to the app and dimmer switch and are reasonably bright. Relax and Energize Recipes seem to actually work. I feel more refreshed in the morning and relaxed at night. Works great in combination with IFTTT

Bought this kit to hook up with Amazon Alexa. Was very easy to hook up and pair with Alexa. Beside using voice commands the app on the laptop and phone work great to. I put the remote switch in the bedroom and can also turn off all the lights with one touch. We are very happy with the purchase.

Works well with Alexa system - does need to be reconnected occasionally but may be mostly wifi and/or User Error (Hard to quit the habit of turning off lamps when I leave the room.) Do love the lights - Only deducted a star as they do have to be reset occasionally and I wish they came in more versions (i.e., PAR30, chandelier, and bathroom vanity bulbs). Love that I can control them from iPhone as well.
