As someone who has been a fan since the Gamecube days, i think this an excellent entry point for new players as well as a fantastic addition for veterans of the series. Technically speaking, its probably the best title in the series. There is so much more content here than I was expecting. Pikmin 4 is a strong contender for game of the year, and thats saying a lot considering how many amazing games have come out in 2023.

The best Pikmin game in the series and absolutely has so much to do and collect! The game is fairly challenging and the graphics are beautiful for what it’s worth

This was my introduction to the Pikmin series and it really blew my expectations out of the water! Lots of content and well worth the price, will be playing the rest of the series after 100% -ing it! c: Dont know if I’d define it as a cozy or comfort type though, the enemies did give me multiple heart attacks almost every 15-20 minutes of playtime - still really fun!!! Just stay on your toes lol

Pikmin 4 is pretty good so far and you can do more things and discover vast areas in this game so far. Also, there’s a pup as a Pikmin now and use it to solve puzzles and help you and your Pikmin 4 as you train your pup in the first place. The story so far is actually pretty interesting and I like the character customization at the beginning of the game. It’s been such a blast playing this one.

As someone who has followed the Pikmin games since the original, it was nice to see the effort into the story and game play. It bought back many memories for me, and it added the much-needed lore about the mystery of the pikmin games. I recommend this game also to new players as it mentions the past games big moments so there is no missing any part of the puzzle.

Does Pikmin 4 live up to the hype?

After 10 year Pikmin 4 finally came out. The last time a new main line Pikmin game came out was on the Wii U (Hey Pikmin doesn’t count it’s a side game). I can’t really think of many factors that would be a dealbreaker I haven’t beaten it yet so I can’t full say it’s Amazing, but it basically is. The characters are charming, the underground is so far a good challenge. The graphics are amazing like HOW DID THEY GET THIS ON THE SWITCH, amazing! Nighttime was good, but an interesting choice they made for what they did with it (no spoilers). The main gameplay is what you would expect of it from past titles, but now with a camera up close and personal. BUT, there’s this bizarre choice they made by limiting types of Pikmin to some areas. Only 3 Pikmin types on the field, which is bizarre and sucks but I don’t know if that gets fixed further down the line. I still have to finish the game but besides that it’s Pikmin, it’s amazing, if you played any titles from the past of its series you will love it. If you never played Pikmin before, but like the gameplay or played the demo you will love it. It’s a wonderful game and seriously needs more recognition than it has, it seriously has earned it! Pikmin 4 really lives up to the hype!.. Well at least for me!

The only thing I disliked was that it ended too soon. More than a fair amount of play time, I just wanted more.

There are games to fill your shelf with and there are games to fill your life with. Pikmin 4 has consumed every free moment that I’ve had over the last two weeks and I never want to go back. This game is so content rich you’ll be hard pressed to ever stare a free-to-play Fortnite-like in the face ever again. This game makes you look at those games and go “wow, Nintendo is really out here just making MASTERPIECES HUH?!” FEATURE COMPLETE experiences. You want multiplayer? BAM: Dandori battles that are quick but fun. You want a campaign? BAM: a meaty campaign that respects your time, your skill level, and constantly makes you feel like you’re discovering something new. Oh you’re tired of that? BAM: Night Time missions turn Pikmin into a bite sized tower defense that’ll both excite and terrify you. Zelda Tears of the kingdom? GET OUTTA HERE Pikmin 4 has it all baby. You just gotta get past the first hour… there’s a lot of dialogue. Also there’s a free demo with cross save available so like… what do you have to lose? Nothing but precious time to a game that’ll surprise you with its addictive and satisfying gameplay loop.

Pikmin 4 is an easier entry than most in the series to complete, but a fairly challenging game to 100%. The balance of Pikmin types and diversity in cave leves is interesting, but the new dog mechanic (Oatchi) can feel overused. On the whole a great game that took much too long to get released.

It takes a long time to 100% the game and is worth the buy to try and complete it. I do not think it is worth the money as a game if you are older unless you 100% the game (or try to). there is so much to do that I would think a kid could spend a month and not complete every level. Going into Best Buy was easy, but I did have to ask someone because they were not on display since it was the day it came out. There is nothing that Best Buy did to get the 4 stars. It is the game that is 4 Stars. If you are wanting to buy a game and need the reliability of getting it on the release date, Best Buy is a great place to go into.

Although Pikmin is no longer a new concept by this point... This is a very welcome addition for fans as well as people new to the series. Just a good time. One of those games that helps you realize what the entire point of playing a video game is in the first place... fun!

This series surprised me with how much I came to enjoy it, but after 100% completed Pikmin 1 & 3, I knew Pikmin 4 was next. This title take a good chunk of it structure from Pikmin 2 (i.e., no day limit, cave systems, etc) while harmonizing it with fun elements of games 1 & 3 (wont spoil that). There's definitely a lot of added challenge if you want to collect everything and finish the story, but it's a worthwhile adventure if you have the dandori skills. Would recommend

Whether you're a long time fan of brand new to the series, Pikmin 4 is a blast from start to finish. Hefty amount of content, just the right amount of difficulty, many different ways to tackle certain tasks, it's all just fun. Definitely a must-have for any Nintendo Switch owner.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I love the first two Pikmin games, and Pikmin 3 deviated too much from the controls and strategy for me to truly enjoy. This one definitely controls differently, but the multiple collectibles really appealed to me. I'm also not usually a "challenge" guy, but the optional challenges were very enjoyable. If you enjoyed the first two games, give this a try.
