I got the SC-91 for the 7.1 setup and dolby atmos support. I got the VSX-45 for my other room where 5.1 is good enough. Comparing the SC-91 to VSX-45 at reasonable volume, it was very similar. No noticeable distorted coming from VSX-45. Quite happy with both SC-91 and VSX-45

With my new Pioneer Elite receiver my old surround sound Bose speakers are sending out powerful and sparkling sound like I've not heard since I bought them long ago!

This tuner has added a lot to the enjoyment of watching TV. While the setup was a little confusing, after calling Pioneer and getting excellent assistance it works great. I would recommend it for those looking for a reasonably priced tuner for Surround Sound.

What a gem of a receiver at a great price too. This receiver has a lot of bells and whistles and being able to buy it at a reduced price made it even better. I must add I am not a music person but took the advice of the sales associate and it proved to be great advice.

This stereo receiver is great sounds and so many options. This receiver can do so much and since I am a gadget person I have everything from video games , DVD player, cable box and my television running through it so I get the same sound all the time.

I have a set of Speakercraft AIM7's in my ceiling and was using an old Yamaha entry level receiver which I purchased in 2007. I wasn't too crazy about the sound quality coming from the speaker and this Yamaha to say the least. Unless you turn it up really loud, the voices were muffled. Once that receiver gave out, I purchased this Pioneer Elite and man, this thing rocks! I never knew my speaker could sound so clear and precise. The voices are super clear, the surround sound makes me feel like there are people in my house, and the sub (even though it's a $199 Polk sub) sounds very clear and crisp. I thought about going cheap on a receiver, but so glad I got the Elite. Best A/V investment ever on my home theater!

The Pioneer Elite VSX-45-K is phenomenal. Easy to connect and set up, I was using it in 15 minutes. The instruction manual supplied could have a little more content, but is serviceable. The sound coming out of my speakers has never been better.

this replaced a 10 year old Yamaha that failed suddenly. I wasn't expecting an improvement in sound as I didn't believe they've changed much, but I was sure wrong. It may be the builtin self adjusting equalizer, but the sound is night and day.

This is an excellent amp and receiver. My Yamaha shorted out so I went to Best Buy to replace it and this was a huge upgrade. I love how I can control it from my iPhone and the sound is fantastic even through my lower grade speakers.

Im really glad I let the sales guy talk me into this instead of a "theater in a box". I was replacing a theater in a box and was asking about another box set when I was informed that this one was on sale. I was hesitant at first as it did not come with speakers or a dvd/blu-ray player. But after the initial setup which is a little on the frustrating side it performs great. One of the best sound systems I've had and I"m using the old theater in a box speakers so I know when I get some decent speakers it will only get better.

I thought it was broken because of my problems getting it to work with my ixfinity cable. Nice 5.2 set up and wireless settings. I got a 2nd tv so I gave this as a gift and got the next one up with two hdmi outputs.

I was looking at receivers for awhile, but when this unit went on sale it was a no brainer. Arguably the best receiver under $400. My speakers sound so much better with it

I bought this receiver as an entry level surround sound receiver for my living room and I'm very happy so far. I am using speakers from and old box system until I upgrade and I'm getting much better sound now.

Capable, feature loaded receiver for replacement of my previous Home Theater Receiver. The Bluetooth feature is a good idea and setup is easy when using the included CD to balance the listening environment.

Switched out of Denon per Magnolia recommendation.. System is now running my surround sound properly and less sloppy vs old system... happy with purchase and receiver will work with 4K television when I purchase

Amazing sound with many options. Is a bit complex to program for someone not experienced with setting up a surround sound processor. I had to hire an outside specialist to set up for $100. Well worth it though.

Easy to set up by following the menus. Plays nicely with most of my audio and video gear. The remote is a bit confusing as it is not easy to specify HDMI port by number. Performance is as good or better than expected. Works well with the subwoofer connected via a cable. Value was enhanced by a great price on unit that was new and only 6 months out of the factory. BestBuy price was substantially LOWER than the price on Amazon at the time of purchase.

I replaced a 6 year old Yamaha 5.1 receiver after I heard the newest Dolby decoding and reproduction by these latest receivers. The sound is incredible and my theater sounds better than ever.
