This is the first in the series, which, in my opinion, is Vin Diesel’s best. Four in all, Riddick is the best character Diesel has created. I was surprised to hear of the sequel, only to discover that it was Vin’s favorite as well, which is why there have been 3 sequels done so far. I still hold out hope that there’s another coming, Riddick kind of ended with the promise of more story to tell…

It is a good opcion for Vin Diesel fans, i enjoyed it

Some might say it's another derivative of any number of alien movies but with Diesel bringing a subtle intensity to the role of Riddick, the threat of approaching darkness combined with characters that both grate on your nerves and makes one root for other characters, the bursts of action captivate the viewer keeping one on a seat's edge. The UHD transfer has deep blacks that hold up well for when you-know-what comes out of the shadows.

Pitch Black is a highly engaging and visceral sci-fi action flick from 2000. The movie is well written with intelligent characters, although Vin Diesel as Riddick steals the show. This edition from Arrow Films contains only a 4K UHD disc and but no Blu-ray or digital options. There is a small booklet included as well but that will only come in first pressings.

Not quite as good as the third installment, RIDDICK, but still a decent original horror sci-fi piece that setup for Vin Diesel to be a superstar. Great monsters and a solid supporting cast with sound performances.

In the not-too-distant future, a docking pilot makes a forced crash-landing of her spacecraft on a distant planet. As the survivors explore the uncomfortably hot planet, they must band together. The planet is eerie, arid, and lifeless. But as the sun sets and the planet plunges into total darkness, other inhabitants emerge -- including a fiendish murderer with a nose for blood.

While the entire Riddick franchise never panned out to be what we all wanted Pitch Black delivered in every way imaginable. Enter the 4K transfer and this has never looked any better. Sure this isn't a vibrant film as its typically dark in color and tone the sharpness is never overdone. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up if you are a fan of Vin Diesel or Pitch Black.

This is the movie that made Vin Diesel a star. It has the (im)perfect hero, the perfect anti-hero, the monsters, a love interest who isn't interested, and an ending that leaves you wondering. Even though it was low-budget, the added resolution from the film scan and the clarity in dark/bright scenes from HDR make it worth the buy.

Arrow came out swinging Their first 4K release is absolutely stunning. I couldn't for as many times as I've seen the dvds or blu ray releases make out much detail in the darker sequences. This release changed any complaint about previous formats I've seen this one on. It is definitely worth every penny.

I think Pitch Black is Arrow's first or second 4k release. If only other companies released 4k movies like this. Obviously, I am a fan else I would not have purchased the movie. The quality of this release is stunning. Crisp metallic day scenes and viewable night scenes come together in a visually stunning Sci-Fi experience.

I first watched this movie at the Theater and enjoyed it. I purchased the 4k Blu-ray to replace my old Blu-ray(1080P) . I watched this movie on my Q82R70 with Dolby Atmos system (7.4.2). this is great transfer excellent blacks and awesome sound ,made me feel like was there with them. I recommend this release 100percent.

Definitely a good restoration! Not all the scenes look awesome in 4K but they are moments when this looks 10x better than even the latest Riddick. This does not have a Digital Copy which was a bummer and its Master sound file is DTS. I don’t know why companies are updating the visuals to Dolby Vision but aren’t putting an Atmos track on the disc. Unfortunately my soundbar (Sonos Arc) has not DTS capabilities so that was also a bummer.

Comparing this 4K restoration to the 1080p version is a major difference. This movie has a lot of dark scenes and HDR really helps to reveal much more detail. The colors are much more saturated and enjoyable in this new restoration. Arrow Video has done a great job bringing more life to a classic.

Great low budget sci-fi. A slow burn, in a good way, allowing the audience to know the characters. Great build of storytelling. HDR is greatly used on this one and the colors are beautiful. Picture was clear and mostly sharp, I seem to remember some soft areas. DTS Sound is pretty strong but I wished it had Atmos

I've always been a big fan of this movie so when I saw it was remastered in 4K I had to buy it. The picture is one of the best 4K remastered movies that I've seen in a long time. My only complaint is that they didn't add Dolby Atmos to the disc. Definitely the best this movie has ever looked.

If you love Pitch Black, this is the version to get. Much more detail than the blu-ray and better color. Tons of special features including the animated film "Dark Fury" in HD.

Beautiful 4K Dolby Vision upgrade. Great science fiction horror film. Breakout performance from Vin Diesel. Great cast. Tons of extras. No digital copy which was a bummer, but it wasn’t advertised to have it so can’t blame them. Now let’s get the other two Riddick films on 4K.

I love the Riddick franchise. I jumped at the opportunity to buy the 4k disc. Excellent picture for a movie that came out in year 2000. Only reason I give it 4 stars is this copy did not come with a digital copy and does not have Dolby Atmos nor any 7.1 capability. It is only standard 5.1. It does come with a booklet giving details of the creation of the movie and the back story of the main characters.

The HDR and Native 4k source transforms this movie into a new experience. Unfortunately, the audio is nothing new. It's good, but an Atmos track would of been incredible. Still, the package is terrific and the bonus features are all on one 100gb disc. Well done Arrow!

fantastic, better than i remembered, the colors changing on the planet were not what i remembered but watching it now makes sense with sun and moons shifting the sky color. the pace moves along and not too much grain. recommend buy if you are a fan.
