was looking for sports type headphones that I could use at work. Had really good sounding Sony but sweat was ruining them Had gotten backordered and couldn't for some reason cancel on line order so since I'd picked up another at a different location had to take one back. After use, at the sale price I'd purchased them for they are so good I wish I'd kept the other for wife or just a spare Great sounds easy to use and connecting is a breeze.

Wish they were bigger so they cover my ears completely instead of 90% covered, but otherwise the sound is great, they handled rain and snow well and super easy to use.

For the most part, I really didn’t consider over the ear headphones when it comes to working out. For me, the last thing I want when working out is something covering my entire ear getting warm and uncomfortable after a while. I was skeptical at first when I received the Backbeat Fit 6100 from Plantronics. Well after taking them out for a couple of jogging sessions my opinion has changed of using over the ear headphones. Let me just start off with I'm not a hardcore fitness person for me working out is mostly doing some light jogging or hitting the treadmill. For the last couple of months, my go-to wireless headphones have been the Jaybird Tarah Pro. The wing set up has worked well for me along with clipping them behind my shirt. When I switch over to the Backbeat Fit 6100 first thing I noticed is how comfortable the ear pads were. They seem to be made out of this leather material with a very soft memory foam material that hugs your ear but without applying pressure to them. Now the earpads they still get warm with active use but not to the point were it’s uncomfortable. The adjustable headband can be adjusted to ensure a tight fit that will keep them stationary. Now for the finish is made out of this soft breathable material that helps the headphones dry quicker after an intense workout. The headphones themselves are very solid that should give you years of usage. Another thing I like was the ability to fold them for easy storage and portability. As for features, there is plenty of that and some that do require the Backbeat app to enable and set up. I do recommend you download the app since it can also show the last location you had your headphones in case you misplaced them. Awareness Mode: When you’re jogging outside you can still hear your surroundings which I recommend when jogging outside. It’s very easy to activate with the touch of a button. The Tap function pretty much this allows you to set up: A timer or start a stopwatch Select your favorite playlist from Spotify or Apple Music Battery life up to 24hrs and if you do find yourself with a dead battery they included Micro-USB to 3.5mm will make sure the music doesn’t have to stop. You can have up to 2 devices connected at the same time to listen from either. The sound quality is pretty good with a decent amount of bass that does not overpower the mid highs. When I had them pair with my Pixel 3a XL phone I was glad to see support for AAC HD Audio. With Bluetooth 5.0 onboard they sounded very good without any drops in signal. You do have 3 equalizer settings to choose from which are bass boost, balanced and bright. For most of my usage, I use bass boost since it’s not overdone like my wireless Sony headphones that feel like they stuck a subwoofer next to your ear. Overall I was very satisfied with the sound coming out of the Backbeat Fit 6100. Mic did ok with my test call. There are some shortcomings but not dealbreakers let start with the touch controls. They’re simple to use like slide up to increase volume or slide down to decrease. Swipe left or right to change track. For the most part, they work very well but the problem is when you're working out and you’re trying to tap the middle of the touchpad to activate the tap function. Since there is no texture or a dent to indicate the center there are times you will end up activating something else like the volume controls or change the track. This can be frustrating if you’re in the middle of a workout and end up changing songs or sudden increase/decrease in volume. So there is a learning curve and I’m sure over time it will become muscle memory. Some sort of texture or dent to indicate the center would have gone long ways to make them easier to operate. The other small shortcoming is the Micro-USB charging. Not sure why Plantronics did not bother to use USB C since most devices are using USB C except IOS devices. Even Beats headphones use a lightning cable instead of Micro-USB because of the convenience of carrying one cable, not 2. It’s been almost 2 years since I needed to carry a Micro-USB the only bright side to this is that the included cable also functions as a 3.5mm cable. Overall there’s a lot that Plantronics got right and they should since it cost a pretty penny. For this price range, you do have some options available to you. What standouts the Backbeat Fit 6100 from the competition is how well they transition to working out headphones to just relax and listen to some music, watch a movie or audiobook when you get home. They’re light, they sound good and are comfortable to use for an extended time of period backed by strong battery life. If you’re looking for a pair of headphones that are good at working out and general usage you should strongly consider the Backbeat Fit 6100.

I love these headphones & not many people that I know have them. I got a great deal on ‘Deal of the Day’ so I was able to get additional protection coverage with the money I saved. Great buy and no issues currently. Connects easy, quick charge and the battery life is good. Fingers crossed I will be saying the same several months from now.
