These headphones sound great and make it easy to answer the phone while using. Phone quality is also good!. They are comfortable but don't fit securely over the ears, and seem to slip loose even when just leaning over. Although I haven't tried them during a workout, I can't imagine that they would stay on, especially during a vigorous work out. I am very pleased with the quality, and they would probably work great for a neighborhood walk - just maybe not the best choice for work-out headphones.

I bought these headphones mainly to watch TV. They have a very long delay between video and audio. Not acceptable at all. I returned them.

I expected good things when first opening the very impressive packaging for these headphones. Sadly there isn’t much that wow’d me about them. Spending a bit of time at the gym with them I found that while they may be water resistant, the sweat would make the ear cups slippery and the weight of the overall set would cause the headphones to slip on my head. They come with a weird rope “tightened” that is supposed to help secure them to your head for a better fit but for the life of me I could not tell the difference regardless of whether I tightened them or not. The sound quality was ok but lacked low end and the external bypass mic for having conversations while listening to music sounded robotic and hard to make out without turning the music almost all the way down. The touch gestures were a nice addition so I wasn’t fiddling with buttons and the battery did last my entire workout and into the rest of the day (during my commute and while lounging at home). I think they’re not a bad set of headphones but I don’t think I’d consider them the best on the market in their price range.

I really like these headphones. I had an earlier version of these that I lost at the gym, and these are far more comfortable on the ear and better adjustment on my head - very comfortable but still stable when moving around during a work out. Sound is very nice and full range, better base than some others I've had and certainly better than the last pair - although they had seen some heavy use. All in all, glad I have them for treadmill and bike workouts.

BackBeat FIT 6100 are amazing headphones for working out as it has al the features you need during your longer workout sessions. On a single charge, these headphones last 24 hours and even longer when you don't use them all the time. Meaning picking up them up and going to the gym without thinking to charge is awesome. The design is great and durable something Plantronics should play up here with advertising because I feel as though FIT 6100 can take a beating. falling to the ground and withstanding bumps are something these headphones can take without worry. Great if you accidentally hit them on gym equipment. Stretch and latch the headband feels great on the head and feels lightweight, I assure you these will not fly off your head or fall out of your ear when you are in your zone. IPX rated headphones are really becoming better over the years and this brand shows you just that. Sweatproof headphones like these should be every manufactures base standard. Overall though the all-day comfortability is there and they never feel stressful on your head. FIT 6100 sounds comfortable. nothing about them will blow you away but the sound is extremely "clean and crisp" but lacking any good strong bass. Drivers do deliver the sound fully but there is hardly any humph unless you go into the presets yourself. One of the so-called standout features here is "Awareness mode" Which helps you listen to music and be more aware of your environment. I'm sure this was designed to keep you from getting hit by any oncoming traffic or crossing train tracks. But you know the real reason for this mode...You can use this mode so you don't have to really listen to someone who is always coming to you talking at the gym when you are not in the mood. You can slightly listen to their conversation and play music at the same time. We all know that one person. The problem is you still have headphones on while talking to them so there is that. There is 3 EQ presets in the Backbeat app. Finally, these headphone manufacturers have stepped up their app experience. The app is not chunky and it is smooth and easy to use with a straightforward setup. The 3 EQ's are bass-boost (Which I highly recommend turning on as the bass isn't that good), balanced, and bright (worst setting to me.) but at least the options are there. You can update the headphones within the app, Use HD voice, and check the battery life of the headphones. Plantronics included a Micro-USB to 3.5 mm cable so even if the battery life dies out you can use the cord. In the end, these are designed to be used at the gym and they are perfect for that reason alone. Many of the features are made with gym buffs in mind and the battery life is the true stand out feature of the headphones because they last so long without a charge. Touch controls worked fine as well giving you super quick access to controlling your music. I would give these headphones a 4.5/5 stars if I could. If you workout a lot or have a buddy that does; want music to last as long as your day...I think Backbeat FIT 6100 will give you that.

These headphones are really nice. The sound quality is really good for the price range of them. I’ve had better quality but you have to pay way more for that. The fit wasn’t the greatest with my head. I have a smaller head and very small ears so it was a bit uncomfortable at first but I got use to them. Overall the were great.

    Entry Level Over the Ear

The competition is tight on the over the ear headsets. That is why I rated this average. It is a truth that most of ear sets now a days, no matter the style, whether plugs or over the ears can be cumbersome if worn for hours at a time, and the PLT Backbeat is at par with the competition. I want to get quickly to the dislikes so I don’t waste anybody’s time. When wearing an over the ear headset, you want to really feel like your at a recording studio, not the case hear. The sound was satisfactory for an entry level over the ear and not life changing. I would like to know why Plantronics always delivers an entry level quality device almost always. I had been looking for a next studio headset, as I had passed on my previous Sony wireless headset to my pubescent hip hop aficionado son as a gift, when I found the opportunity to try this one. The bass button is missing, the max level is a careless whisper as it feels like a basic headset. LOL. I found it strange that it took me almost two weeks to blue tooth pair it to my own I-phone. Now I, the Hipster Techie was schooled and burned by my three city slicking kids on how to get the phone to sync. With so much competition the head covering proved to be distracting. I did find the invisible commands easy to understand, and I really enjoyed eavesdropping on people’s conversation with it’s open listening feature when they thought I wasn’t listening. Now it also does deliver on its noise cancellation which I put it to test during my last visit to Hawaii. It cancelled the Coqui Frog calls at night. What a relief! The faux leather and foldable ear peace did redeem it from being fair review however. If this is being advertised as a fitness over the head, I will have to say it is entry level compared to the other brands in the market. I will recommend it as a gift to others. It’s unfortunate that it did not have a bass button. Bummer. I am satisfied but not convert.
