I was skeptical about Monaco living up to its claims about being user-friendly and easy, because when is technology ever easy nowadays. I'm happy to have been surprised, and I can say this is an awesome sound system. I live in an apartment, so surround sound wasn't something I thought about, with no real ability to tuck wires away, until now. Before this, I had a little soundbar which was nice, provided a good boost in volume, but this is a totally different experience. 1) Setup: 100% true that this is extremely user-friendly. All I had to do was plug in the speakers (that took time, but not because of the system--because I had to move stuff around to find just the right places for them) and then plug in the little SoundSend puck; the lights all came on and it was all working fine. I had accidentally swapped the pre-programmed "left" and "right" speakers, but I unplugged them and switched them, and they re-connected without any issues. 2) Usage: My #1 pet peeve with external speakers is having a separate remote, which this DOES NOT. My TV did a little software dance and now the TV volume directly controls Monaco speakers instead. One remote can do everything. 5 stars just for that! The smartphone app is easy to use, takes a couple seconds to connect to the SoundSend puck, then I could manage everything I needed. MyZone is a cool feature which does a great job equalizing sound; due to my living room's layout some speakers were much closer to the seating than others, and this fixed that. You can also just manually tweak the speakers' output which is a great option too. 3) Experience: First thing I put on was a regular TV show to see how it was; the default settings had it coming through on stereo, which didn't use the rear speakers at all. So I looked through the app for a fix, and I found my favorite button ever: VIRTUAL DOLBY ATMOS. Basically, if you've got stereo sound coming through on a movie or show, then the software looks for the vocals, puts them front and center, and then puts environmental sound into the surroundings, and this made a huge difference; I even find I enjoy it on really mundane programming like news shows. This past weekend, I hosted friends for a Lord of the Rings marathon, and it was fantastic. One of my friends commented during a battle scene, "Spear just flew past my head, in that speaker." The subwoofer's lows really came out during big battles and scenes with special effects. More than enough power to make these movies really shine, and I had the volume at right around 50% throughout the marathon, so it could've gone even bigger if we wanted. 4) Style: Part of the appeal to me was the fact that these blend in. The room still looks like a room, and not like a spaceship with big gaudy speakers, sound towers, or a big sound console to operate. It literally becomes part of the room, and then it's as natural as if the TV was built with the speakers already. 5) Downside? The only thing I found not to like is that when you change channels, or pause a program or movie, when you resume the sound may take around 2 secs to re-engage in the speakers, leaving you a little moment of silence. This isn't a big deal to me, certainly not enough to take off a star. Altogether, this is a great sound system! It was easy to setup, it remains easy to use, and I'm happy with the power and quality of the sound. Way to go!

    Bigger and Better

I upgraded my home theater setup and heard great things about these speakers and I must say they didn't disappoint! They were bigger than I anticipated, as you can see in the image, so I had to reconfigure my setup. PRO TIP: Put the subwoofer under your couch, it sounds AMAZING! The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is my personal preferences on some minor things here and there but overall a good product.

Totally disappointed with this system. It was the only true wireless surround sound i could find that doesnt require you to have an LG TV. The speakers i have absolutely zero complaints about. They were all great. My problem is with SoundSend. This technology is still in its infancy and is complete garbage compared to using a receiver to fine tune your audio. This micky mouse interface needs A LOT of work before it is worth the $1000 pricetag. It only 3 audio profiles to choose from (one of which is simply direct sound), does not upscale the signal (yes, your TV controls the audio signal completely and you cannot change this), has a major flaw where the audio cuts out for unknown reasons but seemed like there must be some change in the audio compression or quality briefly because even if you backed up the stream it would never play that missing audio, has no remote or interface other than a hot pink phone app with VERY limited functionality that feels like it was designed by 13 year old girls. Its a great idea but needs to grow up before anyone who has an ear for tuning the audio will find it even remotely worth the money.

This Platin Monaco 5.1 surround sound system is WiSA Certified to work with any smartTV with the included WiSA SoundSend HDMI wireless transmitter. Also, good sound being tuned by THX for optimal EQ and audio quality. Like the WiSA SoundSend App included to control the speakers from your smartphone and have custom effects like "MyZone" feature. Recommend.

I’ve had the Platin Monaco 5.1 system for two weeks now and I couldn’t be happier. They sound amazing! Setup was easy and straightforward. I did run into a minor hiccup when adding a Klipsch RW-100SW subwoofer — the system thought it was a center speaker, but this was quickly fixed using the Channel Check feature in the SoundSend app. A feature I’d like to see added is the ability to update the firmware on the SoundSend puck via the SoundSend app…though I had no problem using my laptop to get the firmware updated. Also, Platin’s support staff is top-notch! They were very quick to answer any questions I had. Shoutout to Eric P.

Sound is excellent. The highs are crystal clear and setup was as easy as plugging it in and hitting the connect button on the SoundSend.

I had previously used a soundbar for audio and did not know what I was missing until I got these bad boys. Sound is rich, immersive, and Cinema quality. I was a little worried about the set-up as typically nice audio systems need "audio-guy" expertise, but this was a breeze. Took me longer to choose what to watch first than to set up the audio system. Can't wait for my next movie night! 5 Stars
