The play:5 really fills a large room with quality sound! Have it with the bridge and five play:3's . . . loving it! especially the app that lets me control what plays when/where and at what volume and that i can listen to sirius on it!

Sonos is a great option for people who don't want to pay for, or don't need, a fully integrated system. Sound is very good for a wireless system. Set up is easy. I have 5 zones - plus play bar and sub. Sub makes a big difference. Like how you can incorporate local radio stations.

I started my Sonos collection with one Play:5 and have expanded it with another Play:5 and three Play:3s. I love this system and having music throughout the house as I walk from room to room. Some reviewers say that they are not audiophile grade, but I don't think that was the intent of the system. Even so, I think they sound great and I am completely happy with the sound. Now if they would just come out with a speaker rated for outdoor applications... The only issue I have had with the system is when there are multiple people streaming information from the Internet using wireless. It cuts out at times, but this is rare.

We have the smaller Sonos speakers which are great but this model gives off far superior sound with highs and bass. Very easy to move around to different locations

This speaker from Sonos sounds great, it has a line in feature and fills a room with sound. However, is it better than two stereo paired Play 1s? I only have one, but I would guess not, based on the sound that comes out of the 1. Even the single Play 1 gives it a run for its money. I also think placement in a room is important. Placed in middle of the island kitchen, it sounds a bit lacking, place it in a corner against the wall, it really comes to life. Overall I am very happy with this addition to my 2 Play3s, 1 Play1 and the AMP that powers out door speakers. I like that I could use it without a web connection anywhere via the line in. Would I buy another one for another room? Probably not, I think the Play 1s would win out.

Sonos Play 5 is better than Play 3 but...

First, the Sonos brand is more of a computer linked 'system' than the typical surround sound set up. I started out with the Play 3 figuring the price of the speakers was justified by their performance. I was correct and blown away with the 3. After reading reviews of 3 vs 5 (smaller vs larger), I decided to get a 5. I'm hooked and further blown away, just wish they made a wall-mount for 5's. Rumor has it more models are slated for 2013 so we'll see.
Being able to play playlist from Rhapsody, listen to Pandora and other stations and control all of it from my smart phone (or pc) is awesome.

Great product and easy to set up. Provides full and clear sound. My kids can even control it and select their music as well! Have been a customer for a few years now and I keep adding more to my system.

I love the SONOS system. I had the Play3 and decided to add the Play 5. It has the best sound! Set up is simple. Updates are easy. Very happy with the purchase. Wish the bridge had been included.

My purchase was two of the SONOS-5 speakers and sub. The SONOS-5 sounds great when it is working. One speaker (the right) keeps dropping off, (no sound). This has been a continual problem. I have remedied the problem a half dozen times but now I can't get it working. I have submitted an email to SONOS support. The SONOS-5's are set-up 12" from my boost and router. I am requesting how to hard wire the speakers. The sub is hard wired as it wouldn't work wirelessly. This situation would be a bigger pain if I was running the SONOS-5s in another part of the house. I was initially going to purchase two more of the 5s to use elsewhere but I am sure that I would encounter the same problems having the speakers 20 or 30 feet from the boost. I add that my playing is from iTunes, with no radio use. Maybe the radio use is better. The reviews I read on the sub were all five ratings but the sub merely adds a thump. It is better than nothing but pretty expensive. I would recommend to a friend with reservations.

I was looking to install speakers throughout my home so that we could enjoy music seamlessly from room to room (even in the garage or outside). Came across this product and realized it has the potential to add up to 30 Sonos products to the same network. It allows you to listen to virtually any music you have: Pandora, iTunes, music from an iPod or phone, etc.. you can label each component by room name or any other nickname so keeping track of volume control is simple. overall we are extremely satisfied with this purchase and can't wait to add more!

I bought this as an open-box item after searching for months. It's a great speaker and really comes to life when you have multiple in the house. I have other Sonos speakers on my wish list. It's expensive, but supports so many formats and couldn't be any simpler. Even the wife and kids like it which is a bonus!

I bought one of these just from a commercial on TV. Its really great, the interface is easy to use. If I want to play through both units I have I just group them. its hard to not get a few more units to have one in every room!
They are easy to move around if you like, just plug it in somewhere else and off you go. I recommend you get a music service like Spotify or RDIO. Both have excellent streaming sound quality and you can hear it in the unit.
