Bought this for my son to update his Alienware computer which was a few years old. I saw the results last night with flawless graphic motion and super vibrant colors. He wanted something more expensive card but we compromised in the middle of the difference and he is thrilled with the results. He doesn’t regret letting Dad spend less of his money.

1070 graphics card is awesome. I originally went for the 1080 graphics card but they didn’t have it so I got a 1070. What was really cool besides the card is the fact that I had gotten a Great price and saved $80 as well as they put in the graphics card for me. The geek squad put it iin about 30 minutes and I was out and on my way headed home. I picked up at water cooling system for my pc a couple of months ago from them. That I installed. My pc was overheating a lot because I play a lot of games. For me to put in the graphics card would’ve been difficult The gentleman that put it in was just awesome. I have to admit it was worth it to have him do it think it cost 29 or $39 anyway best buys got my vote

I read the other reviews about how this was a cheap looking gpu but with solid performance and I totally agree. It looks cheap and fragile but it performs very well.

I really like the graphics from this card, but only giving it 3 stars because it is built cheap ! No Back Plate, stupid fan stickers, how cheap can PNY get ? Can this card run multiple monitors ????? Honestly would of rather bought a different card.

It is smaller than other 1070s, but the speed is same. Good quality. The only problem is labels on the fans are getting loose after a while.

Good value card for the price. Some of the higher priced cards have better cooling but this card works very well as is.

While a bit expensive vs the AMD cards for mining, not having to mess with the bios and having a card that gamers will want after its past its mining prime are the pros. Cards stay cool.

    Not a bad little card!

I get pretty lengthy with reviews, but I want to hit on everything I can that may help someone else decide on whether this is a decent card to buy. Fair warning! Let's get this out of the way right off the bat--should you really be paying more than $400 for this card? No. But in the current environment that's about as good as it gets. When the mining bubble bursts, this is going to be worth $375 max. I have used this card for both gaming and mining, and I'll give impressions of both. At first, I was not impressed. It's not packaged all that well and compared to other 1070s (I have three, all from different brands) it feels kinda cheap. It's pretty light and the "GTX 1070" stickers fell off of the fans within the first couple of days. There's also no backplate, so if you're going for aesthetics, go somewhere else. Oh, and if you're going to overclock, go ahead and download MSI Afterburner now, because it doesn't come with any software of its own. Okay, so why do I say it isn't a bad little card? Because it performs pretty well for what it is. It has two fans and PNY didn't exactly go overboard on the heatsink. That means it can run a little warmer than other 1070s, but I was surprised that it doesn't run hotter than it does. As for software? I didn't really care, since I use Afterburner for all of my overclocking anyway. Let's start with gaming. All 1070s are pretty much the same at stock. Forget what the boost clock says it is, they're going to boost at high as they can until they "think" they're going to overheat. That's just the way Nvidia's Pascal GPUs work. This one hits about 1950mhz without you touching anything. Honestly, you really don't need more than that. I had no problem playing anything at 1440p at stock settings with this card--just like any of my other 1070s. (The others are an EVGA Hybrid and Gigabyte, in case you're wondering.) A simple +50 on the clock, and you're over 2ghz with no problem. You can go higher than that if you wish, but you're going to have to up the fan speed to do that. Which brings me to thermals/noise. By default, this card shuts the fans off below about 50c, and ramps them up slowly from there. That's good for acoustics, but means the card gets hotter faster than it needs to. I'd recommend a more moderate custom fan curve in Afterburner, but it's really up to you. Max, I hit about 85c in gaming. That's a rare spike and it's also about the same as my Gigabyte Gaming G1, but the difference is the Gigabyte has three fans--so it wasn't as loud at that temp. It isn't fair to compare it to the EVGA hybrid, since that's water cooled. To sum up: For gaming, this is as good a card as any for stock speeds, and good for mild overclocking. It doesn't have the cooling for major overclocking, but in my experience with 1070s, you really reach diminishing returns past 2ghz, and this cards hits that with no problem at all. Now let's talk about mining, which is all the rage right now. It's also what this cards spends half its time doing and why it costs as much as it does right now. Another reviewer said this card was not good for mining. I'm not sure why. Really, I think that's what this card was made for. As I type this, my little PNY 1070 is hashing away mining Ethereum. It's doing so at a rate of 30.5 mh/s and it's sitting at a comfortable 65c. It has been like this for over 24 hours now. That's in a closed case--not a mining rig--with another (Gigabyte) 1070 running along with it. The PNY's fan speed is at 70%. It would be loud for a gaming rig, but for a mining setup (with another 1070 running in the same case) it's no problem. It can go faster--I've had it hit 31-32mh/s with no core overclock--but I scale it back for power/heat reasons. Of course, you have to play with overclocking settings to hit the sweet spot. I'm using 70% power limit (meaning the card is using 30% less power than default) and +675 on the memory clock. If you leave the power limit at 100%, you'll mine a little faster, but you'll also use more power and generate more heat. Whether that's worth it is up to you, but I find 30-31 mh/s to be the sweet spot with any 1070. By way of comparison, my Gigabyte 1070 reaches the same hashrate at 65% power limit, also at about 65c. So yeah, it uses a little less power, but that card also costs a lot more right now. For mining, I'd call them equal, which says a LOT for the PNY card. So to sum everything up: This is a pretty good little card. It gets loud in gaming, though. Mine hit 85c at one point and the fans spun up to 100% when it did, but that was after a while of gaming and once the fans sped up the temp dropped to a better level. I'd recommend using MSI Afterburner or something like it to set a custom fan curve that runs the fans a little faster (and louder) but keeps temps from going so high to begin with. If you're mining... I can't see any reason not to use this card. Fan noise shouldn't matter to you so much, and again I'm mining Ether at 30.5 mh/s at 70% power limit with fans at 70% (2205rpm, if you want to get specific) and temps are 65c.

The fans are so quiet and the pictures come to life. Make sure you give the machine space to breath, it generates a lot of heat when you tax it. Everything else is great

I gave it 3 stars because the fans are loud and I changed the thermal paste. I recommend upgrading the fans and heatsink to Arctic Accelero III. With that attached this card performs like a beast. The picture attached is the card with the upgrade. Perfect temps with this mod. Beware, will void warranty.

This is a great card for those who cannot afford the 1080+, especially at current prices. (I was able to purchase this card for $475 two months ago at a Best Buy, it was the last one they had!) I can even play some games at 4K @ 30fps. Great card
