Customers appreciate the fun, easy gameplay and the nostalgic elements of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!. Many found the game simple to pick up and enjoy, with positive comments on the story and overall entertainment value. However, some players found the game too easy and the motion controls somewhat challenging. Concerns were also raised regarding the leveling-up system and the catching mechanics.

    Step Up for Pokemon

This review is for those that may be confused as to what you're getting with this entry. Many people seem to be confused and think that this is Pokemon Go but on the Switch. The only thing that has carried over from Go is the catching/fighting mechanic and the stats. Other then those things, its essentially like the older entries but with many improvements. Leveling up Pokemon is mostly done through catching Pokemon as fighting doesn't yield much exp and you're only allowed to fight trainers. This is something that many will see as a set back as you no longer fight Pokemon to catch them. I agree with this sentiment and believe they should allow us to fight Pokemon. Every stat can be maxed now and allows Pokemon that were once useless to be viable now. I personally like this change as the old glass canons and tanks limited what Pokemon were worth using. Pokemon are now able to be seen in the wild and this brings the game that much closer to the anime series and brings lots of life to the series. There are no longer anymore random encounters as well. I think the game is very well done with some annoyances specifically the catching mechanic, but other then that its a game Pokemon fans shouldn't miss out. I hope this review gives you more insight into the game and helps you decide whether this game is for you or not.

To me this is a blend of classic Pokemon gameplay mixed with new elements of pokemon go. I like the exp. share from the get go. There are plenty of battles along the way to your next location to attain your next badge. You can actually see the pokemon you will be catching unlock random battles. Overall good game but I can't wait for Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Good game, original game nostalgia. Throwing the pokeball gets old fast though.

Pick this up while it was on sale, perfect game to play with the family, wonderful remake of the classic yellow edition I use to play on the Gameboy as a kid, recommend picking up a copy if you're a Pokemon fan or wanting to get into it, graphics and controls make this title a winner

This game brings back my childhood memories when I first got into pokemon yellow version back in 1999. This game is just like the old one, with updated graphics and visuals of course and how nice for it to be on a portable console such as the switch. My only complaint is the controls for catching pokemon may be cluncky but hopefully they fixed that up with patch updates.

My grandson got this for his birthday and loves it! He has played some Pokemon games on the DS but just got a Nintendo Switch recently and was excited to get the game. This past year he watched an entire youtube video series on the game and now he gets to experience it himself. Highly recommended game for any Pokemon fan and the kids love it!

I did not realize this was a one player game, unless you have another switch and another physical game. A second player can join after about 15 min., but play is restricted as the 2nd player is only a helper. There is an option to use multiplayer online. To get the full experience, the kids play individually, but they love the game.

My niece was absolutely in love with this gift, within the hour she was boasting about catching a Jigglypuff lol. As a 30 year old who grew up on Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow on a gray block Gameboy seeing the graphics and detail into this game I'm going to have to create myself a profile and go catch em all!!!

Going back to Kanto never felt so good. Pokemon is now mainstreamed, faster paced, easier, and more obsessive than ever. Now, you're not encountering random Pokemons on the grass. You no longer get xp by battling Pokemons on the grass but by catching them. Catching Pokemons is also the faster way to get XP, compared to battling other trainers. Really enjoying it.

I was feeling really down one day. So I took a nap. During my nap, I had a dream that I was Pikachu. When I awoke, my heart told me to go buy the Pokemon game. So I hopped on my scooter and went to Best Buy and bought the best game ever. It was my life savor. I am no longer feeling down.

This game is great for the Nintendo Switch. Right out of the box you can start to play and capture all the Pokemon you ever wanted. This supports two players at a time if needed in couch coop. That's a rare thing in this day and age. The whole family will love it. Highly recommended for experienced Pokemon trainers and even newcomers. You have to catch them all.

If you enjoy the first generation pokemon games and/or Pokemon Go, you will likely find enjoyment in these games, but if you are a fan of the more complex mechanisms and newer pokemon of more recent titles, you might find it to be a little bit lacking. This is a good Pokemon game for first timers as well, because it teaches the basics without getting convoluted.

Keeps the kids so occupied during the summer and winter break. They love it.. but have to get the digital one as these games are too small with kids trying to keep track of them are becoming a pain as they take them out and leave them places that they tend to forget when need it again.. Great game tho

Bought this for my 4 year old she loves to play pokemon go with me but she uses all my pokeballs on one pokemon. We have really enjoyed playing this together. She gets so excited everytime there's a pokemon to catch and it usually only takes her 1 to 2 tries to catch. And now momma gets to keep her pokeballs!

For those who enjoyed Pokemon in the 90s and are looking for a simple nostalgia trip, this is a blast! For someone looking for the depth and nuance of a full fledged Pokemon title, you're going to walk away disappointed. A lot of the staples of Pokemon games (like battling wild Pokemon) have been replaced by simplified elements from Pokemon Go. It's a little disappointing, but it may be a decent way to introduce the next generation to Pokemon. I've enjoyed playing it myself, but I could see how die-hards could be upset by this iteration.
