Customers are saying

Customers find value in the engaging gameplay and nostalgic elements of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!, particularly enjoying the innovative Poké Ball Plus controller. Many appreciate the game's ease of use and consider it fun for players of all ages, although some find the price point a bit high and the Poké Ball Plus somewhat small. The simplified catching mechanics are a point of contention for some, while others wish for a more challenging experience. Overall, the game is praised for its charming remake of a classic, but opinions vary on certain aspects of the design and price.

If you are a fan of the series looking for nostalgia factor or are looking to get a younger player into pokemon, let's go is a solid title to start off with. The pokeball plus controller is very easy to use. Only downside is having to switch over to the right joycon if you want to exit the game. I do have issues connecting the pokeball plus controller with pokemon go but taking a pokemon from lets go and traveling around with it in my pocket is pretty cool.

This game must be brought ASAP if you did not get the 100 dollar edition get it because when it runs out you will regret it. The pokeball can be used as a controller the only con is that its not good in petting the pokemon but back to the game people complaining about the battling there is PLENTY OF IT so don't let the review people scare you from this 10/10 masterpiece if you are that 90's kid that grew up to Pokemon get the game ASAP

For fans of the Pokemon series, particularly first generation, this should hit home. There were Pokemon GO inspired mechanics and connections that I wasn't familiar with, but doesn't detract much. The controller makes catching pokemon (a bigger thing in this game in the series than most before it) feel great. Only gripe with the pokeball is that it's a little difficult to get in/out of game if you don't have other controllers handy.

This game bring back many memories from the old days playing the original Pokemon Yellow. This new game let me go back to Kanto region and collect all the original 151 pokemons. Also the new Pokeball plus is a must have for this game. It include a very special mew and allow you to carry a pokemon with you each time to help earn experience point. I put a pokemon in the pokeball everyday and help me level up my pokemon faster.

People will talk about how this game is too easy or whatever, but this game is probably a promising sign of what we can expect for Generation 9. The game captures the charm of the original Red/Blue games, and if you use the Poke Ball plus, you'll be able to capture that childhood fantasy of pretending to be a pokemon trianer. This is a great bundle, especially if you have GCU.

Been waiting a long time for this game and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s basically Pokemon Yellow on the Switch but some of the game is different. I don’t wanna spoil for others. Poke Ball Plus is surprisingly fun to use. Getting Mew was nice but I’m blown away with how responsive and fun the Poke Ball Plus is. If you’re a diehard Pokémon fan, this is the edition you have to own

This game is very good. Very good. However, it is not exactly what true Pokémon fans wanted. This is not an honest remake of Pokémon Yellow, nor did it intend to be. But it does bring back the nostalgia of playing all those years ago. Personally, Pokémon Go can go rot for all I care, and I hate the new “catch Pokémon for experience!” gimmick. What happened to the classic “go out into the tall grass and kick pidgeys’ butts until my Squirtle learns bubble”? All jokes aside, this game is more than enough to get me by before the Pokémon Company actually does their job and gives us a true, new Pokémon game. BTW Pokémon go sucks.

Pokemon Let's Go surprised me, the game is absolutely stunning as all of the Kanto region is fully remade in 3D. The gameplay is exactly what you expect from Pokemon and the game as a whole is very similar to the story in Pokemon Yellow with a few changes. The only issue I have is the catching system, as it's a lot harder and more cumbersome to catch Pokemon than in previous entries. The Pokeball that comes included in this version is very well built and it has some great functionality in the game and in Pokemon Go. It's a great game for all ages and I definitely recommend it for Pokemon fans and newcomers.

This game is simple, fun, and introduces a new generation to Pokemon. I love seeing one of my favorite games in a whole new light. And it is beautiful! I know some people have complained about the pokeball joy-con, but if you're a fan, you will love it! The feel of it, the noises it makes, and the fact that it works with Pokemon GO, it's a must buy in my opinion.

This bundle comes with the physical game (not digital) and the pokeball plus. While the latter has dropped in price recently, and thus the bundle may not make sense now, I've enjoyed the nostalgic feel of using the pokeball as my controller on day 1. However, I quickly moved away from it given that I value (and typically play in) handheld mode. The game is not at all dependent on Pokemon Go. The graphics on the Switch look amazing and the returning mechanics of following Pokemon is great! Riding Pokemon is new and neat, though. I was skeptical on the wild encounters following Pokemon Go catching mechanics, but I found it much cleaner and enjoyable given that I could choose my encounters with the Pokemon appearing in the overworld. The key Pokemon to catch such as Snorlax and legendaries are still following wild battles that transition to Pokemon Go catching mechanics. I feel that this is a great opportunity for Game Freak to test the waters of what people think of the mechanics, and see if some in-between as with catching key Pokemon would be appealing for the next game in 2019. Altogether, beautiful graphics, a nostalgic re-experiencing of Kanto with some nice surprises, and overall really fun to play!

Great game so far, definitely reliving 1999 and playing Blue and yellow versions. True to the original and while I was worried about losing the “battling wild Pokémon” part it works well. Surprisingly also love the Pokeball plus even though I considered skipping it. As an avid Pokémon Go player it has helped a lot while simultaneously leveling up Pokémon in this game. Only downside is how easy the game is, especially since leveling up is much easier than before. However worth it to relive my childhood and improve both my play with the cellphone and Swirch games.

So, this was actually bought as a gift, but after hearing how much others enjoyed the game I bought the bundle for myself. There are a few differences between GamBoy games and Switch but nothing major when it comes to game play. The use of the Pokeball gives an added fun feature for all lovers which is simple to use and enjoy.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he has absolutely loved it. The Poke ball hasn't had problems working and catching pokemon or stops while out and about. The game is fun and he loves how it links with Pokemon Go. This is the perfect gift for anyone that is a pokemon fan.

This is a great deal if you plan on buying the game and the pokeball plus accessory! The game itself was so nostalgic when I first played Pokémon 20 years ago! I haven’t put the game down since I’ve bought it. I will say the pokeball plus was hard to figure out but once you do it’s awesome!

Had it. Played it. Sold it. There was the obvious nostalgia of playing the original region, and the original Pokémon, but after that the novelty faded rapidly. The pokeball Plus controller is a great idea, but just lacked something. And catching pokemon was far too easy. I understand making it approachable to all levels and for those who have never played, but there was no difficulty at all.

It brings back all the memories of playing pokemon on gameboy. It integrates some mechanics from pokemon go. You can also transfer pokemon that you caught in GO to this. The additional poke ball controller that it came with works well and is a pretty cool controller to use.

The game, as has been said by all critics and fans, is super fun. Total nostalgia blast with some awesome new mechanics that make the game feel fresh and a lot less grindy. The controller is also amazing, especially if you pair it up with your smartphone and play Pokemon Go.

This was my first Pokemon game ever and I'm really enjoying it. Considering the fact that Pokemon is a long standing franchise, first timers might feel at a slight disadvantage compared to more seasoned players, but this game does a great job of instruction for complete newbies- I had no trouble jumping right in. Throwing a virtual Pokeball is easy to catch on to: I prefer a Joy Con over the Pokeball Plus because it can be easy to have the ball tilted in your hand (not pointing straight at the screen) an not know it- it's still fun to use, though- just a matter of preference. You can also take one of your Pokemon for a walk in the Pokeball Plus and have them gain experience by playing with them (moving and pushing down on the joystick). Do note, though, that the Pokeball makes noise- you're not going to be sitting at a work meeting with it! Graphics are great and different kinds of Pokemon are fun to collect- highly recommended!

NOTE: Do not believe metacritic reviews or any websites where this game has been getting review bombed. I have over 90 hours logged and have played Pokemon since Red, Blue, and Yellow on the first Gameboy. It is a REIMAGINED version of yellow, not REMASTERED. There are tons of trainer battles, and the wild encounters are better this time. You don't battle them, you see the pokemon in the grass and approach to catch it like in Pokemon Go which is more real anyways. THERE ARE STILL WILD BATTLES! Every Snorlax, the 3 legendary birds, and some Electrodes in Power Plant are traditional wild battles. Defeat the pokemon, then catch as usual like Go. This is an amazing show of love for pokemon fans and anyone bashing it has not played it and is upset that we have to wait for Gen 8. THIS GAME IS WONDERFUL DON'T BELIEVE THE REVIEW BASHERS WHO HAVE NOT EVEN TOUCHED THE GAME!

    Innovative Casual Approach to Pokemon

This package comes with the game, and the Pokeball Plus which is a separate controller. I like the shell box and the fact that it comes with the game in a normal case as well. The Pokeball Plus is an interesting device for sure, but its lack of buttons and dual use of the joystick as both movement and a button makes it harder to play the game sometimes and I found myself only using it when I was playing co-op with someone who had a normal controller as a backup. 4 stars because of this little hiccup, otherwise it's a great product. As for the game itself: We've been waiting for the Pokemon series to innovate for generations now. It's ironic that the way they innovate the most is by remaking one of their original hits. Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu is a remake of Pokemon Yellow for the original Game Boy, with enhanced graphics, story changes, and new gameplay mechanics. The biggest change is how it drops wild Pokemon battles and replaces them with a motion catching system akin to Pokemon Go. At first this felt out of place, but over time you get used to it, and to be honest by now I don't really want wild Pokemon battles to come back. In the older games wild encounters are used to help your Pokemon gain levels - AKA grinding. And I really really dislike grinding. By removing those battles, Let's Go shifts the focus to strictly catching wild Pokemon and battling trainers. There's a clear separation between the two types of encounters, and I think the game is stronger for it. Yes it is an adjustment if you're a Pokemon veteran, but it's one I'd be fine with them keeping.
