So this one is interesting. I wouldn’t call it super polished at all. It honestly feels like a pretty minimal effort in terms of presentation and overall world design. You don’t really get varied biomes or a bunch of side stories pulling you in, which kind of gives off that “bare bones” vibe.
But even with that, they nailed the gameplay loop. It’s simple, but it works. You’re basically focused on catching a ton of Pokémon to level up, with battles mixed in. It gets surprisingly addictive, and I found myself getting pulled in way more than I expected just because the core loop is fun.
Recommending it depends on who you are. If you already love Pokémon, you’ve probably bought it anyway. If you’re on the fence, just go in knowing this is all about the catch-and-grind loop. There isn’t a big world full of unique areas or deep side quests, but the moment-to-moment gameplay is strong enough that I still enjoyed it and kept coming back.
Overall, I do like the game and I think it’s worth playing, just don’t expect a big, fleshed-out world or tons of story content. It's more about the loop than the polish.

Really enjoying its games and mobility. It is worth it. The games within the store of the console are too expensive though, wait for discounts. Get a screen protector immediately, the screen is weak to scratches.

Loved the game more than I expected to. I do feel like the game has a lot of limitations but I suppose it would since it have Switch 1 support

Great game, fun story, and good breath of fresh air to the series. This game isn’t going to please everyone but I have had a blast.

Legends Z-A is a love letter to new and old fans, be it players of X&Y or even Legends Arceus. For an admittedly bit of a steep price point, I'd say it's worth it.

The game is fun, but definitely a shorter experience than most Pokémon games, even with the 1000 battles required for the shiny charm (ick). That said, if you like Pokémon, you’ll probably enjoy Legends Z-A. The combat is certainly a nice change of pace. I would, however, not recommend preordering digital games from Best Buy if you intend on playing them at midnight. The was delivered via email several hours after midnight, and by that time I was dead asleep. Make digital preorders literally anywhere else.

Lots of people complaining online about this game....I found it to be REALLY good.
A solid improvement over Scarlet & Violet, molded for Switch2 in a sense that there are virtually no loading scenes.
The variety of pokemon present in this instance is really good and not overwhelming, battle and cathing logistics work really well.
The ability to edit your roster on the go is soooo much better.
All the little tweaks and quality of life improvements make this game quite Unique, and in a good way.
Yes, the scenario may feel flat and small at times but you get used to it (not all good).
Pokemon games were never about being realistic or similar to Unreal Engine, quite the opposite.
While the game feels it could have been so much more, it's also understandable The Pokemon Company didn't want to bet all that much into recreating the formula that has been working for almost 30 years now. A more "realistic" approach to an Anime series could have tanked the sales and still would have people divided.
Again, good improvement over last gen, laying the foundation to something more, hopefully.

The game was fun overall with good side missions, decent story and some pretty solid characters. But the roster of Pokémon is limited to 230 (that is the complete Pokedex) and I don't think there were any from Scarlet/Violet. And if youre looking for a game to explore in, this is NOT that game. Everything takes place in one sandbox city. I was also ver upset that there were certain Mega Evolution stones that you can ONLY get via Ranked matches, and not just participating, mind you, but you have to be K or higher. For us casual Pokemon players, that's a buzzkill. Overall, I felt like I got my money's worth out of the game, but unless you are interested in Rank battles, the game is only okay and had a lot of missed opportunities to do something great. Also, no Jigglypuff bummed me out hard.

The new battle style makes the game feel more realistic instead of just turn based. Map was a bit underwhelming as well as the story, but concept makes since to why it was limited with the new battling mechanics.

Highly underrated! Performance is solid, and gameplay is a nice change of pace, that work surprisingly well and is a lot of fun. Graphics, of course, are the only downside. However, I think the core gameplay more than makes up for it.

Great game to play on the Switch 2! Plays great and gives you a spacious map to roam around and play through. The battle system has evolved and makes playing a pokemon game even better!

While the graphics are a noticeable step up in polish from previous entries, and the Switch 2 version looks gorgeous, exploring just Lumiose can feel a little restrictive at times compared to the vast wilderness of Arceus. However, the depth of content, especially with the "Mega Dimension" DLC just announced (allowing Pokémon to exceed Level 100!), ensures this game will keep trainers busy for a long time. It’s a bold, successful re-imagining of the Kalos region.

While I was skeptical of the new combat format, it works well. I like that you move and can dodge attacks. I just wish you manually controlled the pokemon’s movement’s, not the trainers. Graphically, I can see GameFreak is finally getting used to more powerful systems. The design is more refined, but still needs modernized. The last thing I wish the game had was voice acting even if only for one scene. There was one scene (and at that, only one sentence) in the game that would have had a stronger impact if the character involved had a voice actor.

The changes to gameplay make this the most fun entry in the series yet. Runs perfectly on Switch 2.
