I know a lot of people have an issue with these games as not being real pokemon games, here's the truth: The only thing this game doesn't have is level grinding. Other than that its like pokemon yellow. instead of battling wild pokemon to level grind, you just need to catch pokemon. So yes this game definitely is easier. But as you catch wild pokemon, your pokemon get exp points. and it doesn't matter which pokemon you catch. If you catch a Pidgey, your pikachu gets exp points. I also like that you can have 2 players playing and battling making it easier too. I think it's a great game for someone to experience the old pokemon games in a new updated way. The graphics also look beautiful!! Lot of reviews i saw said not to buy it, but i'm glad i did!

Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu is a very fun game and also a remake from the gam boy version of Pokémon yellow. This game has new Pokémon visuals and battle animations. You also get to interact with pikachu and feed him berries and give him cool clothes to wear. I had fun playing this and now I’m ready for Pokémon Sword and Shield!!

I brought Let's Go, Pikachu plus a Poke Plus Ball for my daughter's Easter gift. Our girl practically jumped so much of excitement when she saw this game she had always wanted for a while! Perfect gift especially on Easter Day! She been playing with it since she received it!

I love the game it was amazing, this was a good refresher until next years pokemon and also I love that we can see Pokémon in the wild no more random encounters but I loved that random encounter as well both are good in their ways. Spent 4 hours and 10 minutes for first shiny and it was fun

This game was very fun to play, after main story it did get a little boring tho. It fits very well for the Nintendo switch platform an I would recommend it to a Pokémon fan.
I would recommend this to a friend

Good remaster of an old game, some fundamental things have changed which (thank god) are welcome changes, highly recommend playing this one if you played the originals

I bought this one for my kids for Christmas and they've never played an actual Pokémon RPG before this. This was a great way to introduce them to the ways of the game , outside of the card game. I also picked up Evee for myself at launch. I'm glad I did. Great game to bond with the kids.

Got the game for my son who’s a big fan of Pokémon. He specifically ask for this game for Christmas and got it on sale. I’m glad that he will play it on the Switch so I can borrow it and play it too.

The game did try. I do really like the aspect of your Pokémon being able to follow you (and in some cases riding on them) but the battle aspect left so much to be desired as well as the catching mechanic. Very average Pokémon game for the switch. It’s a good nostalgia trip game but does not offer much more than that.

This game is great! It has the same story line as the original Pokemon, with a twist. The one thing that is new, which I didn’t like is that to catch Pokemon, it is the same as Pokemon Go. You just throw Pokeballs hoping to catch them, rather than battle and then catch them. This was a let down for me as that was a big part of the strategy when playing the old games. Also it spreads out the XP during battles and catching amongst all your party Pokemon, rather than just the Pokemon you are using at the time. It is hard to level up just one of your Pokemon to be strong enough to take on the other trainers.

So nostalgic! Pikachu is my favorite Pokémon, so being able to play my favorite game, with my favorite Pokémon as my partner, is just a dream come true honestly. I’m so happy I was able to purchase this at Best But at such a reasonable price.

I’m going to start with the positive and then bring it down by some slight issues, the good stuff:
Graphics - pretty good compared to the old Pokémon games.
Gameplay - fairly smooth, catching Pokémon is simple and easy, story mode is entertaining.
You’ll spend hours playing through the story mode!
Great selection of Pokémon, they don’t have the newer post Kanto Pokémon but still cool!
This game and pokken tournament are the best on the switch !! Now the downside:
Game is wayyy too easy! Like every attack I do kills the opponent almost instantly .. :( another minor issue it lags sometimes or takes forever loading everytime you go inside a building, I wish they would add more stuff to do in the game? Maybe online fighting ? Or perhaps more add ons or extra features. Overall 9/10 game !! Must have .
Good for introducing young kids to Pokemon, but...

This is a good game to introduce young kids to Pokemon due to:
(1) It's easy to catch Pokemon as you just throw the ball and hope it catches (same as Pokemon Go).
(2) Less grinding as all Pokemon in your party gain experience when you catch them, so leveling up is much faster.
(3) Less random encounters as Pokemon appears on the map and you can decide if you want to catch them (same as Pokemon Go).
My biggest complaints are:
(1) No Pro controller support. Only Joy-Con or that Pokeball accessory.
(2) If you're playing docked, you must flick the Joy-Con to catch Pokemon. It is very annoying as it can get inaccurate at times, like you try throwing it to the right but the ball flies to the left.
Even though it is based off of the original Pokemon Red/Blue, the story takes place after the events of that game, so some story changes. The nostalgia factor is nice, but it wears off very fast due to what I mentioned earlier.
Overall, I would recommend it for people new to Pokemon or people who enjoy Pokemon Go only, but not for those who prefer the traditional Pokemon games.
