This is a really great next step in the franchise, I feel like a lot of us have been waiting years for the game to go more open world. It’s definitely a step in the right direction but unfortunately, the game does not run very well. Nintendo has acknowledged this and said they will be updating the game via patches, but either way, the game is not unplayable just, of course we know it could be better. But if you have any interest in Pokémon, or have enjoyed any of the other games then I’m sure you would like this one.

What can I say? I'm a pokémon fan, haha. Very casual player over the years. I know that they're bugs and drama over the game, valid, but I just like it because it's pokémon. That is all, thank you for coming to my ted talk, lol.

Great game overall however the game can have some performance problems in some areas however this did not disappoint the rest of the game experience.

Despite the numerous shall we say, “quirks” this game possesses, it’s the most fun I’ve had with a Pokémon title in years. It’s an open, sparsely populated sandbox like BOTW, but unlike the former, I found myself going out of my way to see how far I could take it. The new lineup of Pokémon is alright and there’s a story in there somewhere, but the focus mainly lies on exploration and largely doing whatever you want with little standing in the way. Certainly not 10/10 but it’s a good start in the right direction for the franchise.

Open world take on a very old formula. Its a little much may get a little lost one how to go about but its great to see the Pokemon walking around. Some are to small to see if you dont look out.

Look, there are glitches. But Skyrim has glitches and that's just considered normal and accepted. Could customization be better? Yes, especially Scarlet and it's orange pants. More hairstyles would be nice too. I had fun getting through the story. The gym leaders were fun. The Team was fun. The hunt for the most primo herb was fun. It's not gonna please everyone. I've been playing since Blue and I had a great time. But I also liked Sun and Moon so maybe there's no accounting for taste in my case.

Anyone with a computer or social media account or knows someone with either of those things has probably heard about the bugs/glitches in these games. My experience has been relatively bug/glitch free so far (though I’ve heard it correlates to playtime and because of my busy schedule i can’t play for anymore than an hour or two at a time, so that combined with I haven’t tried co-op might be factors as to why). I won’t discount others experiences with those things, but this review is about my experience. While I am disappointed to see them, especially after how nice Legends ran (to my memory, I didn’t experience a single bug or graphical glitch when playing that one), I felt most were benign or didn’t even know it was a bug until someone told me. Now, onto the real place where the game shines: the story. This game has one of my favorite storylines. I won’t spoil anything in this reviw, but the three storylines given for the player to pursue are heartfelt and filled with a delightful cast of characters for you to meet, leading up to a climactic ending and fun postgame. I’m glad GameFreak really capitalized on how much people liked getting to know the Gym Leaders and other NPCs from Sw/Sh and fleshed them out more in Scarlet/Violet. Other things I enjoyed were the return of the Let’s Go mechanic, even if it could be tweaked a little to prevent your pokemon from return so easily when you get out of range; the open world that allowed for exploring, and if you knew where to look, made you able to get your dream team set, but level scaling would have been appreciated especially for story bits; and the return of raids, a mechanic which makes getting pokemon that would be otherwise hard to obtain slightly easier if you know where to look.

I couldn't put it down until i beat it, and then there is more to do! This is the first game I've been able to fill a pokedex, but its still challenging. Fast delivery, good game.

I liked that it was open world and the two additional storylines added on with the usual "Elite Four/Champion" storyline were also a nice differentiation from the norm. The ending was great as well.

The glitchyness of the games aside, which can vary person to person, these are very fun, rewarding Pokémon games. And the dual pack helps make sure you get the version exclusive mons in each game

Despite all of the issues in terms of glitches, frame rate drops and being broken this gsme has by far the best story to any Pokémon games out their. Pokémon generation five was my favorite story line until playing this. However I cannot give five stars due this game not being complete on release and still having issue one month later.

Yes, there are some very notable performance issues. Those can be fixed with software updates though. Overall, this is the most fun (and potentially best story) Pokemon has been in a LONG time. The amount of new Pokemon is great, the Open-World is a huge step in the right direction, and the music is the best its ever been in a Pokémon game. If you have been a fan of the series, i definitely recommend this game.

One of my favorite newer Pokémon games. The open world aspect is very fun and exciting! The new Pokémon have great designs and breathe more life into the series. I highly recommend.

People conplaining about the performance issues theyve seen online ckeaely are basing their opinion on just what theyve seen without actually playing it. Those issues don’t impede on the fun. As someone who has played every pokemon game and has been vocal about low quality games in recent years Scarlet and Violet is absolutely incredible and fun. Worth it day1. Dont let clickbait YouTubers who have never even played it make you miss out!

Outside of the glaring performance issues. This is still a good Pokemon game. Has one of the better storylines I can recall from the prior ones I've played.

To be straightforward, the graphics of this game is not groundbreaking (for obvious reasons), but this is still a fun entry on the series. It sort of feels like the previous game Legends Arceus mashed up with Pokemon Sword and Shield, though with mixed results. Still, I am having fun with this one and some new additions to the gameplay formula make this one worth at least visiting.
