These are wonderful speakers, very solid and VERY heavy. You can disconnect your subwoofer as you won't need it. They also look amazing. They are listed here on Best Buy for $1499 EACH and Amazon has them for $1999 a pair with free delivery. Save $1000.

I'd first heard the predecessors of these speakers (LSI series) almost 20 years ago and never forgot them (but couldn't afford them, at the time). The setting was a listening room with mostly more expensive speakers, and they sounded better than anything less then 3 times their cost. When the opportunity came to buy a pair of these moderately upgraded models, I finally went ahead. They sound even better than I'd remembered! I like rock, classical, and jazz and the clarity and impact of these speakers is just fantastic. At the same time, they're the most musical speakers on the market. But as thrilled as I was at that point, it wasn't until I watched the latest Clancy movie on prime (without remorse) that I really found out what these things can do. The movie itself was a little too predictable and cliche for my taste, but the sound! If you've ever been close in at a major fireworks event and experienced the visceral impact of the mortars they use to launch large fireworks you'll know what these things can do. I wouldn't have believed that any speaker could produce such tight, full, impactful sound. Amazing. Just amazing what these things can do. Then play some acoustic rock or jazz and be equally astonished at how clear and precise they are with intimate music. Polk uses a very sophisticated set of bass enclosures to support low frequencies, separate low and high midrange drivers, and their unique ring radiator tweeter for highs up to 40khz (far beyond what you can hear, but it clearly reduces intermodulation between frequencies that the driver has to handle. The result is very musical, but clear highs that aren't harsh and don't cause listener fatigue. These speakers are just incredible.
