Bought this not realizing it wasn't the original, but was pleased that the remake might actually be better then the original! The characters seem more real and of course the special effects are better.

Not a bad remake but nor great either. A couple nice new additions to the story with the ghost hunter. Some of the dialogue is lifted straight from the original and there are some cool new scenes.

I was skeptical at first when this remake came out. I bought it without watching it first but surprisingly it kept my attention & was a very good movie.

but who really thought it would be better than the 80's classic horror gem? This remake is way better than I thought it would be and the 3D is a nice added touch. Give it a chance imho. 3.5/5

The original by Steven Spielberg was hands down the best. But this remake was a little more streamlined and more to the scary points of the movie. Fun to watch on family horror movies night.

Well-made and not as bad as some would have you believe. No, it is not as good as the original but if you divorce it from that it's still a well-,made, fun watch on its own, with some good 3D to boot!

I would say this movie was just as good as the original. It had the same atmospheric property's as the original accept with more modern day special effects. This movie is definitely worth watching.

Not a bad looking steelbook of the new Poltergeist. My main complaint is that bestbuy listed this as the 1982 version on their website originally so I along with many others purchased it only to find it was the remake. Best buy has now updated the year change for the movie.

Fans of the original poltergeist might not like this movie, but I think that it is a good remake. Most of the elements from the original are in here, but this one takes a different direction,

As a retelling of the original, it is pretty good. Some will hate it for being a remake and cgi, but if you just try not to compare, it's good for the halloween season alongside the others.

Personally, I don't think you can top the original, but they gave it a good go on this one. If you're a fan of the original movie you'll probably enjoy a new twist or two from the first one.

Didn't seem quite as creepy as I remember the original being, but my perspective as an adult is very different now. Still a good remake and enjoyable for a good horror/suspenseful film.

Poltergeist the remake is a new take on an old film. Hard to beat the original but this movie is darn good. Keep an open mind an enjoy!

I had high expectations for this reboot. My wife was against it from the beginning. We grew up on the original so it was a bit to be desired on some levels. I think they could have done so much more effects wise and they probably should have got rid of the whole reality tv person. Overall it wasn't horrible. It's one of those you have to see for yourself type of movies.

With all the remakes, some are a hit; some are a miss. This was ok. Definitely worth seeing and adding to collection, but falls a bit short on the storyline.

The original is one of my favorite horror films. This is a surprisingly good remake. Not as good as the original but still better than most remakes being done these days.

It's a remake of Poltergest. It's mostly an unnecessary update, but a neat riff on the material. If you're a fan of horror and have a young teen, this should do the job.

The original "Poltergeist" is generally considered a classic horror movie. This remake is, in my opinion actually scarier than the original: a worthwhile purchase.

This was a pretty good remake of the original and I think the cover shows it . That clown is creepy. Anyone who has seen the original would like this one as well.
