I liked this movie even more in 3D than the normal way.

Pompeii 3-D Pompeii is not the best movie in the world, and it is not the worst. I purchased this movie for a number reasons, one, it cost $5 on sale and two, it's 3-D. And I'm just getting into 3-D, and I enjoyed it. Because it was 3-D, and I did enjoy the characters, and the storyline. I will admit, I'm glad I didn't have to try to write a story about a volcano exploding. But as I said I enjoyed watching the characters and the setting. Very nice period piece. The disc looked fantastic and sounded great. It has deleted scenes, filmmakers commentary, and ultraviolet digital, among other things. It was directed by Paul WS Anderson, a director whose work I enjoy. He shot it in 3-D which which gives it that wonderful depth that you don't get with conversion all the time. This look excellent. So all in all I'm glad I purchased this movie, and I did enjoy watching it, and looking forward to watching it again.

Very entertaining movie the 3D effects brings you into the movie.

I bought this one at Best Buy in Concord, New Hampshire. I really liked this one. A natural disaster movie with a Love story tied in. So glad I bought this one. It is worth the money !

Great 3D and plenty of earthshaking. Thin on plot (seen it all before) with a miscast Keifer Sutherland. Action scenes are about average for today's features. Fortunately, the movie doesn't overstay its welcome, which is a plus, so the entertainment value is retained. Just don't expect award winning performances, just sit back to let the visuals and sound wash over you. The bigger your screen the better the higher fun quotient. A bonus is the layout of the city of Pompeii for those who have visited the actual site.

The movie, Pompeii is a very entertaining movie. I would definitely recommend the purchase of this movie.

I saw the movie on HBO and liked it. it is really entertaining. The acting is just okay, but special effects and destruction of Pompeii by volcano is superb. This is why I gave it 4 stars. The Blu Ray disc is very good. The video and audio are both excellent. Special features are also good. It also comes with a UV digital copy of the movie which is a bonus. Best Buy had the 3D/2D Blu Ray package on sale at an unbeatable price. Get it if it is still on sale at Best Buy. Recommended. Enjoy.

I wasn't sure about this movie as I had not seen a lot of advertising for it. But I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It has great graphics and the leading characters are a joy to watch. Kit Harrington does an amazing job at convincing us of his role. I like him in Game of Thrones and thought he did a great job in this role. The only negative I had about this movie was Kiefer Sutherland. I like him as an actor but I think he was incorrectly cast in this role. Overall, this little seen film was most enjoyable to watch.

I grew up on these type movies. I still find them more exciting cause there are no single weapon to destroy your enemies. It's Mano e Mano Only the stronger survive. The plot line is typical for this era of history. Actors played their parts well. I've seen past movies regarding Mt Vesuvius but this one had more meaning. For one; the movie ends with no one to save. And the couple have a special meaning. I have the opportunity to see the couple in a glass case while visiting the ruins of Pompeii when I was in the Navy.

Great action and special effects movie that has a little bit of everything

Pretty good movie for putting a love story in the middle of a disaster

Great 3D with more depth than out of the screen effects.

The effects looked very real and the acting was very good.

We really deserved a little more for the story line. Since the movie is based on the mountain really erupting, they could have interwoven a little more facts into the story line. They also could have shown us the actual ashes of the bodies when everything was done. Another really nice touch would have been actual footage of when Pompeii was found. That would have been cool. But the special effects were still good.

The only thing that most people know about Pompeii is that it was an Italian city destroyed by a volcano and buried in ash a long time ago. So this movie makes up the rest of the story. The main story is about a Gladiator, the love story that ensues and with a half-baked crazy, dirty politicians complicated subplot. Reminded me of "Gladiator" & "Titanic," mash these two movies together and you'd get Pompeii.

Opening Scene: Roman Army attacks and destroys the rebellious Celtic Horse Tribe in Northern England 62 AD with only one survivor – a 3 year old boy. Then flash-forward 16 years to a London Gladiator Arena when “The Celt” wins a fight for his life in the arena. This Action-Disaster-Romance story-line is well cast, superbly Directed, with out-of-the-box cinematography – it’s both a visual sound-effect and sound-track experience. The complete destruction of Pompeii is completely well-choreographed – the Mount Vesuvius eruption, subsequent tidal-wave, the ensuing super-heated magna plum and the pyroclastic surge that completely consumed the city – and you have a 1st hand, front-row seat to the greatest disaster known to mankind. Big Emotions, Big Love Story, Big Disaster – and it’s realistic and believable!

Enjoyed watching the story unfold. It is a well filmed movie. The action sequences are great. If you no anything about history, you know the ending before you start the film. I was still able to get involved with the charters and rooted for the good guys to prevail. The 3D feature is okay, but for me it did not add much to the experience.

If you love "what if" historical concepts, you will love this movie. For the most part, it is historically accurate with events as they are known to have happened, but the whole movie is based on a fictional story of two figures found in the ruins of Pompeii. Do not watch if you expect total historical accuracy.

Photography Was Great. The Explosion Of Pompeii was really excellent. The Actors did a excellent Job. The kept movie to the basic. Bad guy, pretty girl and Pretty boy who is a slave. you actually felt sorry for them.not a lot of big starts, but the two or three in gave really good performances. love story good. Pompeii blowing up was outstanding.
