Pretty fun game, story is pretty bizarre but if you have played the previous titles then you would expect that. Not much replay value.

I was a fan of the series before I played this and still a fan after two full playthroughs. I really enjoyed it, its not meant to really follow the two previous installments. Look at it as a stand alone game. I really liked the game-play and the storyline. Its a complicated story a whole lot of it is left open to interpretation. I found some parallels with this story to that of The Dark Tower series. There are a few bugs with this game though, small minor, sort of annoying things. I had one loading issue, never encountered it again during my second playthrough. Sometimes I couldn't pickup lock picks, even though i could see them and my companion was pointing them out to me. That was only in the Bank area. I didn't get some special equipment drops from handymen either. Sometimes checkpoint reloading fixes that, but not always. That's a common issue though. All that being said I still really liked playing. Play it on hard if you like a challenge, i did on my first playthrough and loved it. For the hardcore gamers try 1999 mode, I'm not patient enough for that, but i know a small few will accept and succeed in that mode. So, this is for the thinking gamer, who likes first person shooters with a rich, complex story.
