Anyone that's a fan of old school RPGs needs this game. It's made by the same people that brought us Final Fantasy and it's very similar to that series. The story line is quite unique and the voice acting is surprisingly good. I can hardly put it down.

The first half of the game is great, but after that it becomes kind of a repetitive chore. It seems like the developers were lazy in trying to extend the length of the game. Overall a good JRPG, but I wish the content was completely original from beginning to end.

This game looked beautiful, had a fun story, and had an excellent battle system. The used copy I purchased was flawless.

It feels like an old-school Final Fantasy game (which it might as well be), so if you liked the pre-VII FFs, this is right up your alley. Just try not to be too irritated at the wrench the game throws at you - if you've already played it, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I enjoy RPGs but it's been a while since I've played on the the 3DS, so it was great to find this game! It's really fantastic and the style is very unique, it's really fun!

Super stylish Japanese Role Playing Game from the masters - Square-Enix. Definitely worth a play-through if you like these types of games. Great soundtrack!

Enough said, this game is pretty much a turn based story driven RPG for the 3ds, with some social aspects thrown into it for good measure. Solid game.

Over the pat 10 years JRPGs have been few and far between. Bravely Default returns to this formula and can best be described as the game square should of called Final Fantasy instead of what we got with 13. Bravely Default has a great story and will give you nearly 40 hours of play time. Be warned this game plays like older SNES RPG games and you will be grinding to make levels. So it might not be for all, but in my opinion this is the beginning of the Final Fantasy series coming back home in another form.

Feels just like a final fantasy game with a lot of tweaks that make the game less of a drag, especially where it concerns grinding. However, the end game is still a long long drag.

If you're an old school gamer who loves JRPG's, then this is the game for you. In a time where games are moving from the traditional turn based battles back in the day to more action based gameplay, you'll find that Bravely Default will fill your turn based needs. Not only that, but if you're busy and don't have much time to level up your characters or tired of monster encounters, you can lower the difficult and monster encounters. The developers took the player into consideration and it just makes going through the story much easier. The story and music are great, and I'd recommend this to any JRPG lover.

Best JRPG, maybe the best RPG ever.

I went into this game, expecting more of the watered down JRPGs that have been coming out of Square Enix for the last few years. I knew that it was a spiritual successor to FF: The Four Warriors of Light, which I hadn't played, but also knew it was an all new IP. Once I got it turned on and was playing the game, the graphics blew me away. The background is done in traditional hand drawn style, with a nice 3D feel to, which is enhanced by the 3DS features of the 3DS system. It is an absolutely gorgeous game. The character models are fairly simplistic, which I appreciated as it is reminiscent of the old JRPGs from the PS1.
The artwork, while great, is only the beginning of the greatness that is this game. It has, from what I know of, the most customizable party I have ever seen. Ranging everywhere from the Job you want your characters to specialize in, to the way their passive abilities work, to the way their special attacks do damage, and even what they say when they do those special attacks can be customized. Because of this level of customization, the game becomes one of the most strategic RPGs I have ever played, of which, I have played a lot.
From the artwork and graphics, to the gameplay, story, and strategy of the fights, this game is one of the best games ever made and brings back the feel of the classic JRPGs a la Final Fantasy 1-10. I would happily recommend this game to anyone who wants to take a few hours to sit back and enjoy an experience like you did during the height of the JRPG life cycle. If Square Enix can bring this to the rest of the games, they are on the right track.

A throw back to classic Super Nintendo Final Fantasy games. This game uses turn based combat and character classes to great effect. The story is cool though it can get a little frustrating at the later stages. Definitely a must pay for RPG fans.
