Miyazaki movies are practically their own medium. What you get will be a moving story that you will remember for years to come. With the animation and character quality that stays strong for years, you find yourself in a story, an entire world, that you could only long to be a part of. In a story involving corruption, industrialization, human greed, catastrophe, and many of the elements that make up the stories you read in history books, this is a tale of human nature and its interaction with the inhabitants of the forest. If you like stories that deal with human nature, detailed animation, and memorable characters, such as the tenacious San and the warm and determined Ashitaka, you owe it to yourself to check out this anime classic.

I Absolutely Love this movie, for it’s beautiful story and beautiful art, and I love the message that’s in the story about protecting nature I love the wolves and the other animals and the forest spirits and the characters and the voice actors and the friendships, I absolutely love Hayao Miyazaki and his writing and his directing and his art

Do you like dark souls? This is basically Dark souls: the anime. The praise the sun dude is even in it. Its artistic, its a grand adventure about a boy who has to come to term with circumstances and with a change of events his life goes from flip flop monday to chirpity rocking friday! Featuring somenof your favorite dark souls cast such as Jim carrey as sun man, danny devito as the gaping dragon, and who could forgrt angolina jolie as the spider witch! Its an instsnt classic. You will be a minute jn and instantly feel it! Grab those popcorns, butter my butt and call me a biscuit!

I wanted to watch this movies because I heard that zelda breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom got some of inspiration from this film, now that I’ve watched I can confirm this. Weather you are a fan of zelda or you like anime you should give this movie a chance.

This is the movie that got me into anime all those years ago. The story is amazing and you can fell the emotions from the voice actors. It might be a little mature for a younger child, but I would say pre-teen to teen is a good age to give this movie a try.

This is in essence a fable, expertly animated and presented to the world by one of the most prestigious animation directors in the world. Hayao Miyazaki and his crew at Studio Ghibi outdid themselves with this tale of ancient mystical beings, revenge, and a study of what it is to be human. The English dub script was written by Neil Gaiman (author of Sandman series, American Gods, Stardust, and others), and it does a wonderful job spinning the original tale told by Ghibli.

Miyazaki never failed to amaze me growing up and this was a classic I watched as a kid. I picked this blu ray up on a whim and was delighted that I still found this movie incredible. Beautiful story and art and the blu ray quality looks so clear. Its def not for younger children (some blood/gory scenes) but I feel like it can be enjoyed by older kids and adults.

Many of you may be wondering the same thing I was when these releases hit stores. Are these Blu-rays an upgrade over the Disney releases? They are, in my opinion. However, are they worth purchasing again? Probably not. But, for hardcore fans, maybe. Here's why. First, picture quality. GKIDS has completed new 4K scans for these Blu-rays. In my opinion, it shows. The image is a bit cleaner. The details and colors do differ in some respects from the Disney releases. In comparing some scenes from Nausicaa, Castle in the Sky, and Princess Mononoke, I prefer the GKIDS releases. Is it a huge difference? No. But it is there. The reds are more intense and look red, not orange. And in Nausicaaa, the colors differ in scenes from the Disney Blu-rays. Actual color grading differences. Plus, the GIDS releases have more shadow details. The packaging and presentation on these releases tops Disney's with ease. The slipcovers are beautiful, with many of the releases using the same artwork as previous releases, with some exceptions, like Princess Mononoke. I also prefer the Nausicaa art here over Disney's. Each release is in a quality keepcase (not eco case) with art inside the back cover, so that when you open the case, you see a beautiful image from the film. The discs have art on them as well. I prefer the design on the GKIDS discs over Disney's, although, the Disney DVDs sometimes had very nice art as well. Lastly, the GKIDS releases also come with a small booklet that has some art and words from the creators behind the films. The menus on the GKIDS releases fall short of the Disney releases. They are not animated. There is no music. But, they are clean and simple. It would have been nice to have at least had music playing in the background like the Disney releases. Some releases include new extras. Many, if not all, extras from the Disney releases are ported over, but some may not be HD, as is the case on Nausicaa. As you can see from the descriptions, the Disney dubs are ported over to these releases as well. Plus, you get Japanese audio tracks, although, I have not confirmed if these are the original Japanese audio tracks, as I know that was a problem on some previous releases. Overall, I prefer the GKIDS Blu-rays, but if you have the Disney releases, you probably should save your money. However, if you're like me and you love the films and want the best presentation possible (video and packaging) and you find them on good sale, like they were on release at Best Buy, then it may be worth it to you.

I loved this one. Because of the violence, my wife likes Miyazaki's other movies better, but she still enjoyed it. It's a great action film that still has a Miyazaki feel to it, but it's definitely different from most of his other movies. Still, if you like Miyazaki films, or just anime action films, you should check it out!

Truly a legendary movie from the great Studio Ghibli. It is great to see it ported onto Blu-Ray. I would highly recommend the watch!

I love the quality. The Blu-ray Disc princess Mononoke is an absolute amazing movie

The first time I watched Princess Mononoke so many years ago I was absolutely in love. The story is absolutely amazing and the animation is timeless. Having it on Blu-ray now in high definition is a real treat. It takes what was already beautiful and amplified it.

One of the best from Ghibli and certainly one of the best animated films of all time (though a bit violent for younger viewers). I found the dub to be great, and the blu ray treatment is excellent. It's too bad the studio is against digital copies, though.

Good movie I seen it once on DVD so I had to purchase my own copy but this time for Blue-ray
