I ordered this movie when it first came on, "On Demand" and some how i ordered it on Dvd. Its a good movie.

Love movies based on real life and this was particularly interesting.

This was an inspiring and feel good movie with some comedic elements. The acting by all the principal characters was excellent. The fact that it was based on actual events made it that much easier to root for the underdog. My only complaint is that the accents were a little difficult to understand at times but that isn't the fault of the movie as it was set in Africa. Still an excellent choice for anyone especially families looking for some family friendly entertainment.

The movie preview intrigued me about the story of a young girl potential chess master coming from a poor African country who overcame the odds of being poor but having intellectual potential and an ability to excel - the ultimate example of nature versus nurture. It's a great telling, but you have to really pay attention since it can be difficult to understand because of the dialect and speech patterns - it doesn't detract from the story-telling or the positives about how she succeeds, but just something you should be aware of.

This was a great movie and the fact that it was based on an actual person made it all the more noteworthy. I watched it with my 10 year old and it was a great way to show that anyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve their dreams if they want it badly enough and are wiling to work hard and make sacrifices.

Overall I thought this was a decent to good movie with some inspirational moments and some good talking points for my kids (age 6 and 8). I thought it ran a little long and it could have been edited down to trim the run-time down 15-20 minutes. My kids are young and these types of movies tend to make them "tune-out" but they were able to stick it through and finish the movie.

I really enjoyed watching this movie. I found it to be informative, educational and eye opening. Acting was incredible, locations where the film was filmed were amazing and reflective. It was a heart touching and warming presentation evoking feelings and thoughts of how much we should be grateful for. I own this movie as a great addition to my library. Enjoy!

This movie, is a small Disney movie that deserved a lot more popularity. Is a cute small movie that brings family and dreams of bettering themselves in such a great way. Everyone should see this movie, plus is about chess. One of the best games ever.

The moving was refreshing and positive. It is good to see that wholesome entertainment still exists today. My family planned a movie night around this movie and were thoroughly entertained. Highly recommended.

Queen Of Katwe a tour de force in today's world. Speaks to women in particular. Reinforces the values of persistence, perseverance, perspicacity. Loved the inspiring message: Don't give up on your dreams.

I enjoyed this movie a lot and enjoyed watching it as a family. It was a good story and pulled at your heart. I don;t remember this one in the theaters,but am glad we watched it. Great Disney movie!

I missed this one in theaters and was happy to be able to buy it when it came out on blu-ray. The story is great and inspiring and the film in general is a feel good family film. I would recommend this to everyone to give it a chance.

A beautifully directed movie. Madina Nalwandga is inspirational as the chess genius. Supporting cast is brilliant down to all the children in the different schools. A must see for all.

This was a good disney movie. It was not my most favorite but it was still good. I love and will support the yearly true story from Disney. I want my children to learn from these movies and this shows persistance.

Great story of being poor and disenfranchised in a third world country, and against all the odds to persevere in a game as simple as chess.

My 1st time seeing this movie was during a flight and it kept me interested the entire plane ride. I definitely had to add it to my collection.

Very moving story about a young girl who becomes a chess champion without having been to school in her life. It's a triumph of the human spirit over adversity.

Artfully shot and a great story. Not everything regarding Africa is dismal and impoverish. Storyline was beautiful and touching
