I just bought this game on 2/19/2018!! Will have to give kudos to Atlus for picking up this game and remaking it for the newer system. Game comes along with new additional contents, DLC, art and more! For those who are purchasing the limited "launch" edition, an artbook and sticker sheet are included which are package inside the box. Friendly mode makes it easy for new players to enjoy game which helps focus more on the story vs normal and hard mode. For those who have played this game before, you're welcome to play the append mode which have additional stories or re-visit the original story line with updated graphics and voicing! Def. a must have JRPG game! Advice: if you're not sure if the game is right for you, you may dl the demo on the DS shop! The demo version allows you to save your progress onto your SD card which you may transfer /load the file onto the full version (when purchase) and OH! in demo they give some freebie in game healing items too.. so even if you plan on buying the full game, PLAY DEMO ANYWAY! :)))))

As many already know, this is a remake of a DS game released about 7 years ago. For newcomers that love RPG games, I would totally recommend this new version over the original DS since it's improved in many ways (it has voice acting, more save slots, the graphics look better, and there's new content/sidequests/a new character). For those that already played the original, there's still fun to be had in this remake; mainly the extra content/sidequest/new character; and it's in my opinion, a good reason to revisit this game! I'm 10 hours into it and loving it (even more than the first time I played it). Also, I would like to note that the original localization effort done by Atlus when the DS game was released was great; but this time it was taken one step further with the voice acting; which is pretty good and compliments well the work done earlier. Additionally, keep in mind that the launch copies come with a nice cardboard box, an artbook, and decal artwork that includes the characters of the game. So I would recommend getting your copy while supplies last if you want to get those. If you haven't tried the game before and you're hesitant if this game will be your cup of tea, there's a free demo in the Nintendo eShop; and you can transfer your progress to the real game if you decide to buy it (which I did).

The story is tight and captivating, the game does not rely too much on classic cliche, and the battle system is simple but with enough depth to play around. The time travel system is easy to grasp and become second nature pretty quickly even if I have to say you can get a bit lost trying to found out exactly the quest you want, or looking back for certain thing. The difficulty is on the lower side for Atlus title so don't hesitate to play on hard or maybe deadly. +Music is good +Story is captivating, despite being political fiction non-stop. +Character are likable +battle system is easy to grasp -Rather short for JRPG -poor environment, low effort graphic for a remaster. -Repetitive area, you won't explore a lot of new places

I wanted this long before it's release. I love this edition so much that I bought 2! The art book and decals are awesome. If you love Atlus as much as I do then do yourself the favor of buying this. It has a new character named Nemesia, added gameplay, added story content, redesigned character art, new character voice overs and music from the original composer Yoko Shimomura. It features 2 modes perfect and append. With append you are able to play the original game before starting a new game with all the AWESOME added content. With perfect mode you begin the game with the added content from the beginning. Anyone that has any interest in jrpg's needs this in their collection. If you're new to jrpg's I definitely recommend starting with this because your first experience with jrpg's should be memorable, beautiful, fun and authentic.

Excellent remake of a classic NDS game

The original Radiant Historia was a classic on the Nintendo DS and I'm happy to say that Radiant Historia was an excellent remake that did it justice, even adding a new storyline that improves on that perfection. The graphics, the music, the combat are all excellent, even though I admit that the classic art was somewhat better (and can be bought as a separate Classic Art Pack DLC). The new art shows different expressions though and that is a plus. This is a must own for new and returning gamers alike and deserves to also be a called a classic RPG for the 3DS, as the story and different timeline branching feature is something that is unique and needs to be experienced by anyone who loves great storytelling.

Fantastic jrpg! If you have the time come play this masterpiece! Even for old players this new version has added features and even some story that the original didn't have. Battle system is just as great where you knock them down like pinball if you line up your attacks just right and the story is gripping from start to end. And for time traveling fans like myself this is a must play, it scratches that itch of ours with its well told narrative and it's time traveling elements.

I’ve only played a few hours into the game but the fact that it deals with time travel and having the option to change it reminds me of Chrono Trigger. It puts me in a state of nastolgia. The voice acting is great and the pixel art is even better. The combat is turned based and allows you to perform combos for higher damage and xp. Did I mention this version came with an art book and stickers!

I have wanted to play this game since it's original release on the DS. The story is amazing. The characters are likable. The voice acting is really good. The graphics do leave a lot to be desired. The way that they're presented, they look like GBA sprites. Literally as if the game was made on a gameboy. The game however is very charming, challenging, engaging. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Unfortunately, I never played the original DS game, but from what I've read and heard, this game is the definitive version. It has great voice acting, a fun battle system, wonderful characters and a story that is just a joy to experience. It's one of the best games I've played in while. If you love JRPG's, you need to play this game.

Not much to say than it's a great upgrade to the original. Graphics, sound, etc all upgraded for the 3DS, more content. If you're a fan of the other you may have some nitpicks over some changes, but overall it's just as fantastic.

This game isn't the most heavily marketed, but it definitely should be played if you love good storytelling. The combat has some great ideas and is engaging, but if you just don't have the time then you can turn off the combat and enjoy the story. The dub is superb and I highly recommend it. No lipsyncing problems with this game so the delivery and acting really shines without being affected by the ADR process that bigger games have to deal with. That, the story, and the music creates an amazing page-turner of a game.

I absolutely love this game. I hadn’t heard much about it and am glad I picked it up. The story is engaging and somehow handles time travel perfectly. The quests are fun but still challenging. And the battle system is an interesting mashup of turn based JRPG mechanics and a grid based system. Which really worked for me. You can also see enemies in the over world and choose if you want to engage them (big plus).

Absolutely a MUST BUY for 3DS owners! This game is stunning- the story is breathtaking and it reminds me of Chrono Trigger with amazing story and cast of characters. if you like Time-Travel and if you like Chrono Trigger and old RPG classic stuff this is not to be missed. If you haven't played the original then definitely pick this up because what you are getting is absolutely worth the price! If you enjoy Fire Emblem or RPG games this is just amazing!

As a long time fan of the original game, I am happy to say that this remake or remaster [more like the latter] is just as fantastic. The only thing I think I disliked was the redesign for the characters, but thankfully there is dlc you can get that changes it back to the original artwork. Gorgeous story, beautiful musical pieces, the characters have a surprising amount of depth and humanity to them [esp for a jrpg], I highly recommend this.

So far I am really enjoying this game. I am a little over half way and the story is really what keeps me playing. The combat is pretty good combining standard turn base combat with a grid system giving this game a unique twist. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys jrpgs and turn based combat.

Pick this up you like intricate, mysterious and complex stories in video games. The battle system is also a lot of fun and will challenge you to think things through. The upgrade from the DS version along with the extra added content makes this a truly enjoyable JRPG experience.
