The official criterion edition for this is not only packed with specials and content but really displays the beauty from every shot in the movie.

Criterion has finally stepped up for this release. The transfer quality is excellent. The film grain is a pinch on the inconsistent side, but it resolves well. I only saw 3 times where it didn't resolve that well, but on the whole it's very good. Black level detail is absolutely superb. It's deep and never crushes. The movie isn't the brightest, just above SDR, but I personally found it fine. There are no bit-depth errors or banding of any kind. There's no edge applied, and ringing is so minor it's not even worth talking about. The audio is pretty standard, but I found the dialog to be clean and clear at all times. The score is absolutely gorgeous and goes so well with this movie. I loved it. Highly Recommended (Is this the new The Criterion Collection? I want more!) VIDEO: 4.75 out of 5 AUDIO: 4 out of 5

This movie has never looked better. If you own this on blu ray, this is still worth the upgrade. Black and white movies are taken to another level in 4k blu rays because of HDR. There is an understandable fine layer of grain in this movie, but the grain adds to the detail of the image. The opening title shot has heavy grain but the rest of the movie has an amazing film look that's as close to 35mm as it gets.

Robert De Niro as Jake LaMotta, a boxer, a violent, insecure man who has become obsessed with not only the sport and art of boxing but controlling everything in his life and the effects it had on his family. It's a great character study.

A great classic of a great movie director Martin Scorsese. Robert DeNiro deserved an Oscar for beat actor. A must-to-have video in your library.

An old classic movie and one that got a good 4k upgrade. The image looks so crisp and definitely worth getting even if you have the blu ray.
