Customers are delighted by the Blade 15 Advanced's OLED display, citing its gorgeous visuals, high brightness, and fast response time as key strengths. The laptop's build quality and performance also receive praise, with users highlighting its ability to run demanding games smoothly and consistently. Better QC than previous models

I'm inclined to agree with other reviewers here - quality control really does seem to have been stepped up this time around. I previously owned a 2016 Razer Blade 14", and a 2018 Razer Blade Advanced 15", both of which arrived out of the box with minor cosmetic imperfections and displays that had some issues with inconsistencies on white/gray tones. This one has none. It's absolutely impeccable, and the display is the most uniform I've ever seen, across every color. Whites and grays are more consistent across the span of the display than even the 16" MBP, which is heavily lauded for its excellent factory calibration. The display is bright enough to work in all conditions, but the glossy screen means that direct sunlight is blinding. I don't have any measurement tools on-hand, but it sits between two other devices I have on hand that I know measure at 300 nits and 600 nits respectively, so that HDR-400 certification seems well deserved. Brightness will vary from unit to unit like all laptops and displays, but you can likely expect ~400 nits of brightness. It's worth mentioning that Optimus can't be turned off on this model. That means you're stuck with switchable graphics - you can't set it to use only the RTX 2080 Super Max-Q. This is true of all laptops with Samsung OLED panels as far back as the Alienware 13 r3, as the Intel graphics driver appears to be used to control the display. If you want OLED on a laptop, you're stuck with Optimus, and this is no exception. The keyboard has been updated on this model, so that there's no longer a an up arrow between the ? and right shift keys. This was a massive dealbreaker for me with the previous model, so I'm happy to see it corrected. I've been getting 5-6 hours of battery life for light workloads (streaming music, using chat applications, watching videos, and working with text), and 2-3 hours when editing video. This is with screen brightness set to ~70% and with no power saving modes engaged. You could likely get up to 8 hours on light workloads if you used a low screen brightness and Power Saver mode. It has USB-C charging on both sides of the laptop, but it requires a 20v charger, and doesn't seem to respond to anything below 60W. I have a 45W 20v charger that doesn't work. Most cheaper battery banks top out at 45W, so that's a bit disappointing, but manageable. Just make sure to get a battery bank that supports 60W+ at 20 volts on its USB-C port if you want to use it with this laptop. You'll need a cable that supports that, too. Keep in mind USB-C charging doesn't provide nearly enough to match the laptop's typical 230W power brick, so your performance is going to be throttled accordingly. Still, it's a very nice option, and arguably the biggest reason to get the Advanced model this year. Thermals are pretty well handled. Even using the performance mode and running pretty intensive workloads for five straight hours, the CPU never went beyond 92C on its hottest core (with the average being 90C), and the GPU never went beyond 84C. With Synapse set to custom mode and performance sliders maxed out, my CPU hovers around 3.0-3.4ghz while playing games that actually use all 8 cores, and the GPU hovers around 1200mhz, which seems to indicate that this is the 90W variant of the 2080 Super Max-Q. On the whole, this is the most pleased I've been with a laptop in a very, very long time. It's worth mentioning that the lower-specced model this time around actually manages to hold a 350nit brightness, and seems to also be benefiting from the better QC on top of having a 300hz display and the ability to disable Optimus and a longer battery life due to not driving a power-hungry 4k OLED panel. It's likely the better buy if you don't care about the deeper colors OLED provides, and aren't very sensitive to IPS glow/minor backlight bleed.

I have had this specific setup and compared it to other razer PC's from the same release with similar specs like the 17inch 4k 2080 super model, the 300hz 15 inch 2080 super model and so on for close to a year now. I don't understand why but this has been the most stable configuration of all the laptops to give me consistent performance without issues, frame drops, freezing or manufacturing defects. I upgraded the ram to 64 gigs when I was able to get a good deal.... no you don't need it but for the prices I managed to get it was a no brainer. For an extra $250 I went from 16 to 64, def worth it to me for something I'll be running for an easy 3-5 years. The display is gorgeous, the RGB is second to none on any other laptop I have tried for gaming. Playing on a 60hz 4k oled 1ms touch is hella fun in MMO's like WoW and FF14.. frames are stable, I get roughly 80+ frames on 2k and 50-80 frames on 4k. Connecting to external display is excellent as well with similar performance. I have recently tried an ASUS RTX 3080 desktop system and compared my MMO performance to this laptop... and I was sooo disappointed after all the RTX 3000 hype. I got a nice 20% performance boost at best on a new RTX desktop that had an I9, 64gigs ram, and an RTX 3080.... which just seemed weird.. I messed with settings without success and hoping it was just a faulty rig... but returned it for a full refund and the experience left me wanting my laptop even more. So while I love this laptop here is a small disclaimed which can be skewing my opinion and creating a bias. I payed a little under 2K for this system and then added a BB warranty due to horrible razer service reviews. My review is based on value / performance based on my experience... had I paid more.... I may have dropped the stars for performance to value. However, just like apple razer has it's own fan base and hype so you pay the razer tax as you would with apple.

Forget about high refresh rate! The oled panel response time makes up for that! The panel is flawless too! .1%grey .5% grey 1%grey, 5%grey ALL GREY! No banding what so ever! They have really stepped up the quality control!!! 2020 razer laptops are it! I think the build quality justifies for the price. Also it’s upgradable! Ram or storage. Forget about apple lol

Amazing gaming laptop, if you’ve owned one before then you already know this! If you’re new to Razer Laptops and considering the Blade 15, make sure to go all out and get the advanced version to get the most out of the big purchase you’re thinking about making, only a little bit more in cost, though you do get what you pay for with Razer products! 4/5 Stars because the PC fans will kick on pretty loud and randomly kick on when no programs are running or using a program that is not intensive which can become of annoying if that’s something that will bother you. It heats up quick too, I use a metal MacBook stand to keep it elevated and air flow to easily pass through when working from a counter top or desk. Highly Recommend.

This thin and light GAMING system offers great build quality and excellent performance. The OLED display is gorgeous. My only wish is an OLED 120HZ display but I guess we are not there yet. You can power this laptop with USB-C but it will discharge the battery slowly when in use. This is my second Razer Blade and I'm extremely satisfied,

The laptop easily handles every game thrown at it. It’s light weight and has a good frame. It does get hot and smudge really easily. The screen is almost too good it was really hard to find a wallpaper.

Better than Macbook pro in everyway

Returned the new Macbook pro 16 M1 pro 16 core and brought this on black Friday got it new for $1799.99 was originally $3300. Amazing deal and laptop sold out real quick. In terms of display quality the MacBook isn't even close even with the mini led display, razer oled display is much sharper and much better contrast, and graphics well razer Rtx 2080 super max q will smoke the m1 pro 16 core easily. Build quality MacBook and razer have the same amazing CNC aluminum unibody build quality and exactly the same thickness.

great everything I was worried that this model with oled and max 60hz going to be horrible for gaming but its more than great and that oled makes the sacrifice for the high refresh rate justified to me for hard core crazy advanced gamers should get the cheaper 300 less model with the 300hz model but for me im happy with oled 60hz wish it was 90hz lol but 60 is good enough for me I don't do a lot of first person shooter

Desktop replacements are hard to find that have the 4k panel and the GPU CPU combination that fits an industrial design comparable to Apple. This is built better than Apple in quality of materials and Razer really improved quality tolerances compared to previous versions of this. If you have the pocket you are buying the quality and the hardware.

I loved this laptop. Hands down this thing is an absolute powerhouse. That being said, I returned it after a week. The keyboard on this is just atrocious to use. I tried to use it a lot to get used to it and it was so low profile, so poorly designed for key travel that I just struggled. I prefer mechanical keyboards so going to this was too difficult. I returned it and bought an HP Spectre fully loaded. Much less powerful but I love the keyboard.
