I've seen others have mentioned the backlight bleed. That IS absolutely a thing on this laptop. On my unit it's mostly one spot on the bottom. It looks like "stage lighting" where the light will shine upwards. But only during dark scenes in-game. It's not a total deal beaker for me since gaming performance is otherwise good. But it's REALLY disappointing to see on a machine this expensive. During normal scenes where it's not trying to display something dark, it's not really noticeable at all. But during those dark scenes its quite noticeable and distracting. I'm considering contacting customer support, but haven't decided if its worth the hassle since it seems to be a common problem with these units. And the next one may be worse... Performance wise. This laptop does very well. I've had the machine for about a week and have played a few games (The Forrest, Rust, and Subnautica to name a few) and all have given me 80-120FPS on high settings (Not max settings). Fan noise is low for something so powerful and thin. They did a great job on thermals on this one. Even after 4-6 hours of gameplay the keyboard is still a comfortable temp to use. If you plan to use this on your lap, i recommend getting a chill mat to protect your lap from getting really warm. I almost got an Alienware machine that was a little cheaper with very similar specs, but i read that machine has serious overheating/thermal throttling issues that noticeably and negatively impacted performance very early on. So i'm glad to report the thermals on this Razer are really great. Except for the power supply brick... That thing gets EXTREMELY HOT. Like a concerning amount... It quickly gets too hot to hold and you should be very conscious of where you have it resting when you're playing. Battery life is pretty bad. But to be expected on a machine like this with the 2070 Max-Q. So plan to be around an outlet with this laptop. I wouldn't even attempt to game on battery power. It would likely only last an hour and would also likely shut off on you mid-game. For light-duty tasks like web-browsing, Email, Word Processing or watching YouTube/Netflix i got about 3 or maybe 4 hours of use before it went into power save mode and wanted to be plugged in. Which isn't good at all. Comparatively; this is an area where Apple really shines. As my 13" MacBook pro can get over 9 hours of use on a single charge for the same light duty tasks. Since i use my MacBook at work, its really great to be able to get through the whole day and not need my charger. Being able to leave it at home and know i'm set for the day... That's a big deal. They keyboard is fine for gaming. But typing feels a bit clunky. I definitely wouldn't want to type out anything lengthy on it. (Not using it to type this review right now) Also the trackpad feels pretty bad compared to my MacBook Pro. I know MacBooks have the best trackpads in the business right now. But wow, it really shows... Apple's trackpad is so far ahead of the industry standard it's crazy. So i may be spoiled. But i don't like the trackpad on the Razer. But i only use this machine for Gaming. So i always have an external mouse connected when i'm using it. So that isn't a big issue for me. I also wouldn't recommend this machine for portability at all. Along with its poor battery life; It's big, heavy and difficult to maneuver around compared to a smaller machine. This isn't something you're going to want to carry around campus from class to class or to a local library or coffee shop on the reg. It's much more suited for people who want to PC game at home while sitting in their recliner. Or for people who travel a lot for work and will want to game in their hotel room at the end of the day. Overall i'm happy with this machine. If you're buying it for the correct use case you'll be happy with it.
