Great western on modern console

Great western game - probably the only one worth recommending for current gen consoles. Vast open world can take up easily 10s of hours of your free time. Dynamic characters and scenarios can draw you in for another 10 mins and before you know, it is 4 in the morning.
Great game for those who love westerns and other open world games.

This is a great game for those who have the time to put into it because at times on both online and normal play modes the game can get really slow. It also can get repetitive at a time with the missions, however, that seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of the PS3 games I have played.
It is a free roaming western with a ton of side missions and challenges that will keep you entertained for hours.

The game starts somewhat slow, but that's only like the first 2 hours or so but after that the game starts to get epic. Breaking horses, skinning animals, poker, and the many things u can to in the game will keep you entertained for a long time, but that's only the single player, the multiplayer is pretty fun. However, it's hard to find people to play with in the multiplayer when you find it's really fun. And this game has an ending that i didn't see coming nor will you. This game is worht every penny i definetly say that this is a Best Buy.

One word: PERFECTION! I have been a gamer since 1996, I have played a TON of games, and this is by far the greatest game I have ever played! You can spend hours and hours just roaming the desert hunting, skinning, and selling animal skins. A lot of side quests to do. Every part of this game is fun as hell! I would recommend this game to everyone! This is one of those games that you couldn't imagine anyone not liking it! BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the game for the cowboy in us all that didn't have money when we were kids to ride the miniture horses at shoping malls, two Quarters lol, well this our time and this is that horse and this game delivers from playing out shot outs, train rides, snake bites, hunting buffalos, poker games, saving damsels in distress, and even getting drunk at the saloon. Now who doesn't like all that rockstar does and they delivered. Game looks great and no more loading when going in to another town unless you take a carriage ride and the map is huge it took me half an hour to get from the beging of left side of the map all the way to the end of the right side of the map with no missions. Its worth it but this absolutely not for kids, so dont get tricked in to buyin it if it ain't for you.

Geographic surroundings look realistic at times. A great game to add to every GTA fans collection or Rockstar fans collection for that matter. Many in-game extras will keep you on a constant treasure hunt for extra wardrobe specials, certain challenges, and special charecters outside the gameplays story line to keep u involved in the game.

I bought this game because I needed something to play after I finished Infamous.
It takes some time getting used to the controls (like shooting while riding a horse).
I'm not so hot on the super long riding journeys but that's what comes with an open world game.
The gameplay is entertaining and the storyline is pretty cool.
You can download Undead Nightmare for $10 instead of paying $30 for it if you own RDD. I didn't know this and bought Undead...bummer
It is a fun game and worth $40.

What's not to love?

I love this game and play it quite abit even though I completed it with 100%. The available DLC (Downloadable Content) is still available and some items are free on both gaming consoles. The roping, card playing, shooting, and gathering of all items possible in the game is a blast! My favorite part in the game is the early access to the Blackwater area that has yet to be fixed by Rockstar and easy enough to do! Shoot a horse with a guy on it and get the law to following you until you get in the mountains by MacFarlene's Ranch and surrender to law enforcement when the game says you are in Tall Trees! I love the glitch cause that way you can get the best weapons in the game EARLY! Plus who doesn't like shooting grizzlies EARLY!?
Great game all the way around a must buy!

The online mode is excellent. The storyline for online is endless but the single player mode is short and ends abrupt. But this is one of the best games that I have enjoyed and will play it over and over. The graphics are excellent in both modes and very enjoyable.

This is a great 1st person shooter and adventure game. Its a lengthy game at times but it gives you hours and hours of entertainment. But you know its going to be an above average because its made and produced by RockStar Games.

GTA4 with Cowboys...but BETTER

Imagine Grand Theft Auto 4 but with Cowboys and set in the Wild West. That's what you've got here; after all it was made by Rockstar. Instead of cars, you've got horses and stagecoaches. Instead of gang warfare, you've got...well, gang warfare. However, Liberty City coudln't hold a matchstick to the world of Red Dead Redemption which is vast and large that it would literally take you days to see and explore it all. There are tons of fun side missions of a wide variety in addition to the main campaign. The acting, audio, etc are fantastic and this game looks great on a 1080P LED TV.
Its the perfect spaghetti Western that you can control. However, Its definitely NOT for little kids.

The Good, The Bad and the pathos of man.

Red Dead Redemption is almost a perfect game.
The world is gorgeous, especially the sun sets.
Horse riding is fun, the gun play feels natural.
And the plot is immersive.
However:
There are a couple of spots in the game where I watched a cut scene play out in a way I would not have allowed.
The purchase / sell part of the game was weak, I cannot stand games that require me to complete some particular mission prior to being able to buy something.
The mini-games; poker, blackjack, horseshoes and five finger fillet could have been made more interesting. For instance being able to accuse someone else of cheating at black jack might have been cool.
In short well worth the Money and time.

I love playing this game, it is very fun and addictive. One of the best rockstar games ever. Almost like GTA but based in the Old West. If you like the Western theme you will love this game.
