I hate that GE these filters use RFID DRM to force you to overpay for the GE 'only' XWFE filters just like Ink Jet manufacturers do. I'm sure its to protect us from buying low quality filters. (sarcasm on high) They do work well, but about $50 each when not on sale. should be half that in my opinion.

I would highly recommend this Refrigerator.

If you are getting water a lot frequently and are getting ice frequently the filter will need to be replaced before the six month date. For such a small filter, the price is a bit steep. Will buy a few more to have on hand to avoid them being out of stock.
