I think that this computer is sleek looking and a solid performer in almost everyway, exception being it isn't meant for gaming. This PC would require a few upgrades for that. This computer will be used in a home office environment with Microsoft Office (Home version). I had to unload a lot of bloatware from the device I do appreciate all the ports (in and out) and the device's speed (3.6Ghz and turbo boosts up to 4.2GHz) from the i7 CPU. The 16KBs of DDR4 memory is definitely is no slowpoke at all. I've hooked up my wireless HP Officejet Printer 8625 and 24" monitor and it took just a few minutes and I was up and running without a problem. I will be getting a 250GB SSD and installing the O/S on it for 30-second boot time. I think that the ports on top of the device are backwards and clumsy for easy use. The power supply is a bit underpowered, but okay. All in all, this PC is great as is, and it didn't vaporize my bank account. It's the perfect PC for my current use. I hope to use it for at least a decade or more! Thanks HP!

Regarding refurbished, the computer was like new and could only be distinguished as refurbished because it came in a box labeled refurbished. The quality was as expected, fast and effective. One very minor issue, the USB port on top of the computer is very sensitive. If I bump the computer it disconnects/ reconnects. Here's why I buy from BestBuy. The computer came with a dead keyboard. I took the keyboard back and BB was more than happy to make an exchange but I would need to bring in the tower that I had just reloaded with all of my programs and files. I didn't want to do that, the manager compromised without being asked and suggested exchanging the HP keyboard for their insignia. I got the better end of that deal.

bought this on sale and it's been pretty good but not without issues. i went on vacation and upon return had startup issues for some reason. then the HHD crashed and even though i'd been doing regular backups it would not recover. it was down for a full month before i finally figured out how to force a recovery. for school the onboard graphics would not run Fusion360 or MasterCAM. i had to install a graphics accelerator to run CAD/CAM's. not good for expansion, there's only 1 extra slot for expansion and none for memory. so it's good for basics, fairly fast but don't plan gaming or upgrading around it.

This is my second Envy. Problems with the motherboard after a storm. Liked working with the first one so much I wanted a second.

The computer is working fine and works as promised. Great price for a good computer.

This is a good computer so far. It is not as fast as I thought it would be but has the specs I was looking for for basic computing. It's fairly quiet.
