was sad to hear about the passing of jeff hanneman r.i.p. didnt think Slayer would be making any new material since jeff wrote alot of the songs... heard over the summer about the the new cd repentless. with gary holt of exodus taking over. i bought the cd/bluray combo- the digipak folds out into an Inverted Cross. now that is something Slayer would do. repentless is just as if you turned the clock back to the Reign in blood era on certain tracks. always enjoy listening to slayer cds and turning the balance to one side to listen to kerry king and the other jeff hanneman- glad to see that continue this with gary. the bluray offers up a great live performance of slayer - or the bearded ones :) all in all this is a cd that could only be created or spawned by...SLAYER

First I should comment that I'm a die hard metal head, and I never buy CDs at Best Buy. But I couldn't pass up their price, I woulda been crazy. I got the cd/Blu Ray combo and it was like 15 bucks, which was awesome. Now as far as the album goes. Holy smokes. Slayer has always been one of my favorites. I agree they sort of fell off track with a few albums, especially their last few. But I have to say, the addition of Gary Holt (Exodus) and the return of Paul Bostaff is amazing on this one. The riffs on this album are some of the best in YEARS, in my opinion anyway. The production rules, Holts melodic solos rule, and Tom Araya shouts along like he's still a youngin lol. Extremely enjoyable album. I got it on release day and I continue still to rotate it into my listening every week sometimes every day. It's great.

The CD is Slayer, you can't go wrong with Slayer. They have a formula they stick to, while the writing lacks slightly it Slayer! But buy the accompanying DVD as it's totally worth it to go behind the scenes for 45 min and get concert footage!

Right from the get go, Slayer just assaults the listener with hard driving sound and energy. Certainly their best work in years and amazing these guys continue to push their abilities with such ferocity and resurgence.

People find Slayer to be an easy target to slag off since half the original band is gone. I have to say that I feel this is the strongest release since 2001 God Hates Us All. Still sounds like typical modern Slayer. Though this time around the lyric writing seems more amateur than ever. Comes in a DVD and Blu-ray format as well

Slayer put out another fantastic album, even with the sadly missing Jeff Hanneman (R.I.P.)!! the obvious track to listen to is Repentless, but i've also been digging Vices & Take Control.

It's always a good thing when Slayer releases a new album. So, if you're a Slayer fan, then you get what you expect. Repentless is a good album, but it's not their best. However, i still recommend it, so go and buy it.

Good album, but not their best. Better than the last couple of Slayer albums in my opinion, but not their best. A few recycled riffs, but when you have been going as long as these guys, it is going to happen. But all in all a good effort!

Against what other have said about this album, I think it is a good attempt to get back to the roots of what made Slayer a great band back in the early 90's. Hope the next album have a bit more variety in the song writing department.

If you like Slayer you'll love this album. Gary Holt breaths new life into this band that hasn't been since God Hates Us All (sorry Jeff)

Not their best, but a solid effort. The music is good, but the lyrics can be a little lame at times. Overall, probably a four star album. I really liked the dvd. A great concert performance and a nice little documentary about the making of the album. Any real Slayer fan will be glad they checked it out. The bad part is the packaging. It folds out to form an upside down cross, which is fine, but the sleeves for the discs had glue on the innermost part. And the discs got stuck in it & it was a real pain to get them out & clean the glue off. Very aggravating! Otherwise, well worth the money.
