    I have tried a number of filters for my GE Refrigerator, but none of them work as well as a genuine GE filter. They last the longest and there is no weird flavors to the water. Even though they cost a bit more, but it is worth the expense. I don't like to compromise when it comes to my families drinking water.

    Places like Home Depot sales filters that can replace this GE filter. But! there is a huge difference. Besides the taste that really is different, THOSE FILTERS ONLY filter chlorine and that is it. If you want real clean water with a great taste and free of tons of things and not only chlorine, stick with GE filters.

    Overall the fitment of the filter was spot on. Haven't had any weird taste issues as of yet. Was contemplating buying a generic one on Prime but opted to buy an original item for quality assurance. Best Buy matched Primes prices so that was what sold me so I could go and pick it up from the store that day!

    don't waste your money on buying the cheap knock-offs on this product they do not last as long or work as well. this is the original part and works wonderfully, lasts me and my family about 9 months to a year.

    well I have to admit that in order to save some money I bought an after market filter which did not work as I expect. My fridge start making a weird noise and no water was flowing thru. I decided to buy this original water filter and guess what?... Awesome, no noises, very quiet and working as a champion. : )

    My icemaker wasnt working well so I looked at the filter and noticed it hadnt been changed in my new rental for 6 years. I bought the OEM to fit the GE refrigerator and the water tasted cleaner and made ice better almost immediately!

    This cost less than other places I have purchased this item and does an effective job of cleaning the impurities out of the water. I teach water quality in the classroom and have tested our drinking water there alongside the unpurified water and it shows a cleaner drinking water after using this filter.

    I don't like to spend so much money on a filter, but this one lasts longer than my refrigerator thinks. I just do a reset on the filter reminder without a decrease in water volume or water quality. The water tastes great! And, the ice is very clear...

    The GE Replacement Fliter was a great improvement over the less expensive brand , that I had previously purchased. I will not reference the "other Filter', but the GE filter not only works faster,( dispenses water much quicker, and a larger amount), and improves the taste of the water dispensed.
