This filtering system works great. My dogs notice the difference and will drink more when I give them the filtered water than they will when I'm stuck giving them tap water. These water filters are also very easy to change out. I have never had a problem with them leaking either.

Other types of filter that are similar to this one (like the one you find at Home Depot) only filters chlorine. And that is all. This GE is very complete and it will filter not only chlorine but also metals and pharmaceutical residues. Note: The taste of the water is like black and white (that different the taste).

Big mistake. Their filters were defective, thankfully my payment was refunded and I purchased the “real filter” at Best Buy and it works perfectly.

I thought changing the filter was worth a shot. It was a very successful effort. Although this filter is a little pricey, the icemaker works perfectly and the small cost of the filter saved me the high cost of a refrigerator repair. It is still working well several months later.
