||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially was buying these filters thru Big Box Home Centers and realized that Best Buy offers them at a great price especially if your an Elite Cardholder, so this was a "No-Brainer" decision as I was saving money all the way around! You can get "knock-off" branded filters, but I've found that the GE branded filters do the job and even though they would suggest to you to change them every 6 months or so, I have no trouble getting over a year out of them and probably more, but I do write the date on the filter when I install them so I'll know when to look forward to replacing it. When your stream slows down a lot, be sure to replace it and get your flow back to a positive stream. After installing it, I typically run thru the new filter 2 quarts of water to flush out and loose sediment that might come from the charcoal filter.

Good GE Refrigerator Filter

More specifically, there is less of a chlorine taste to our water than from the faucet water. We use it for all of our drinking and cooking water.

Stick with factory filters

Avoid using the generic/off brand filters. They just don't do as good of a job as factory filters. Well worth the extra money. Thanks Best Buy!
