Best of the Resident Evil series!

I downloaded the DEMO for this game on my 360 and it is just awesome. If you have played Resident Evil 4 and loved that, you're gonna love this one even better. I also thought the controls were kind of a pain in the neck but its just a matter of getting used to it. I chose the "Type A" controller settings and it works perfect for me. The graphics are smooth on this game too. One thing that is pretty cool about it is that when you bring up your inventory menu, you're still in game play. A game i'm definitely looking forward to get!

This game has some of the best Graphics i have ever seen and it really does look awsome on a HDTV. The gameplay is awsome and the controls are very easy to master , i do not know why so many people keep complaining because Resident Evil has always been handled like this so i do not see why is capcom wrong by not changing the way you control your character. The Co op is very addictive and it only keeps getting better as the game moves forward . Overall this game gets a very solid 9.6 in my book

    Fun to play

Been RE fan from the beginning of the franchise. Own all games on game cube, ps2 & now x box. I found the game fun to play and the graphics are great especially in hd. I did find the game easy to beat and don't know if I will replay as much as previous RE games. Favorite is still RE 4. One thing I did appreciate was how it tied all the previous games and characters together as you went through the game and un locked character files. Item managment is a bit cumbersome and restrictive and I do not like not having control of partners weapon selection. All and all a good basic game and entertaining to play. Only time will tell if it will keep my interest.

This game has put graphics, challenge, and excitement into a whole new category. I played the japanese demo that was released and it is simply amazing. Graphics are superb and the bosses are challenging. Not to mention the online co-op involved, it makes this game 1,000 times better than all the other Resident Evil games. You work together to bring down foes and their leaders. The teamwork puts a whole new perspective on fighting the infected.

I also played the demo, and as soon as I did I just had to go out and pre-order it. I'm very excited about its release as an avid Resident Evil fan. Nothing bad to say about what I've seen so far, except that the default controls in the demo are a bit awkward. Anyone can change that though - just go into the Options. There's a control scheme that is just like Resident Evil 4's, and there you have it, no more complaining about the controls.

    Great co-op game

I bought this game for me and my girlfriend to play together. In the beginning, it was hard to pickup, and I almost took it back. But once I got deeper into the game, it turned out great! You have to get used to pulling out your knife/gun, and then using it, so your actions happen a little slower than an FPS. There's points where you and your partner split up and flip switches/kill zombies/open doors, which adds a nice dynamism to the game. The game also has these interactive cinematic things, which are awesome, but you have to be quick on the button presses. The only bad thing I have to say is that the dialogue is hard to hear sometimes, but that may just be my speakers, I'm not sure. Great game, very challenging, and one of the best co-op games I've played yet!

Great predecessor to Resident Evil 4.

The game itself is awesome, meaning the length, story, controls, and having a buddy with you. The story and atmosphere may not be as terrifying as the other Resident Evil games, but it is still a really well written story. Being able to have a buddy help you kill waves of tough enemies (yes even on easy) can be a thrill and life saver all in one. This is still fun by yourself, but playing with a pal make the moments more fun.

    Resident Evil is back!

I picked this game up the day it came out and was amazed. The graphics are unbelievable and the gameplay is just like every Resident Evil. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the controls. Apparently, they have never played a resident evil game before because all of the games have played the same. You always had to be stationary to fire your weapon. This is not Gears of War, its Resident Evil!!!!!!!!

This resident evil reminds me of part 4. A bit different than the other resident evils but the co-op play is the greatest. Ability to upgrade weapons encourages you to update them. full max upgrades unlocks other weapons. Single player mode is great as well. Occasionally the computer gets in your way and takes almost everything. once you understand the commands though it gets easier. Best game ever!!!!!

I'm a Resident Evil fan and this game has topped the others. The story line, the graphics, and the extras have me addicted. The online experience is what make it even better...especially the versus mode (xbox live add on). I got this game when it first came out and I'm still playing it. If you're a fan of Resident Evil or just killing zombies, I strongly recommend getting this game.

    Alright game

I played the demo for quite awhile. The graphics are good but having to stand in one place to shoot isn't realistic and a pain. The controls are bad when you have to combine your bullets with the gun while getting attacked. After awhile I got better at using the controls but they could still be set up way better. Over all it's an ok game but it could've been great if they fixed the controls. I know they were trying to make the controls like the previous Resident Evil's but they don't work for this game. Play Left 4 Dead instead

    Different, but still evil.

The zombies are long gone, but the Lickers are back! This game is a great new installment for the RE franchise. The co-op feature is nice, but the ally AI is good enough (although it is rather wasteful of ammo). And Wesker is brought back more powerful than ever.

More like a shooter than RE4

I have played this for a few weeks now. Before, I played RE4 for a few months, both in solo mode only. Here's a comparison between RE4 (wii) and RE5 (xbox): Pros for RE5: +better graphics +more weapon choices +more infinite weapons +more stages in mercenaries mode +plenty of cheats available Cons for RE5: -each person can carry only 9 items (weapon, ammo, potions, armor) during gameplay, although you can keep unlimited items in the offline inventory -enemies are still shooting at you while you manipulate your inventory -once you go through a "major door" you cannot go back. This makes the game feel too linear, and eliminates the door trick in RE4 (resets enemies in the stage) which was great fun. -fewer unusual enemies. There is no blind enemies that you have to tip toe around to shoot in the back. No invisible enemies. -story mode feels shorter -weapon change d-pad is sluggish, sometimes doesn't change weapon or changes to the wrong weapon -Aim point varies with distance: instead of a crosshair, you aim with an off-center laser beam. This makes aiming more difficult. -stupid AI: the computer controlled partner sometimes get stuck in a corner or a dead body, and sometimes blocks your view to the enemies. I wish there's a way to kill the partner and continue on my own. -no secondary stories (Ada in RE4). -cannot save many games to replay later. There is only one save at any time. Although you can jump to any chapter at will. In short, it becomes more action oriented than RE4. Personally I prefer the slower pace in RE4. In RE4 I replay the story mode often; in RE5 the story mode is not as interesting, and I replay the mercenaries mode more.

    A challenge you can't forgett...

This game is my favorite one, even tough I haven't played ALL RE games, the only ones I have ever played are RE (GameCubeV), RE2 (N64) and RE4 (PC). All RE true fans will be dissapointed in me for not playing at least RE3 or RE-C:V. The game itself is entertaing, it has suspense and intentse breathing action with 53 cool cutscenes and features, but sadly, the coming PC version might have more challenge, lets hope at least XBOX sells the PC features online, like it did with the VERSUS MODE. Now seriusly, one of the reasons many doent like this one are for the controllers, seriusly, they are not, for me, it took me days to get use to the HALO3 controls, this one is piece of cake, but still HALO3 is the XBOX360 king game, but still RE5 has to be in your collection.

This game is going to rock...

Granted, I'm only reviewing based on the demo of RE5 since the game hasn't come out yet. Anyone that has played the series will love it. Anyone that is new to the series will love it. I gave "length" a 4 because I'm not sure just yet. I can say RE4 went on and on which was awesome. RE5 is coming to the Xbox 360 for the first time. WELCOME!! Seriously though, the graphics are sweet. There will be the need for co-op in this game. That's what alot of gamers are calling out for. So thank you CAPCOM for listening. I urge any gamer to check out the demo right now for Resident Evil 5. You will love it...

    Sick...

I was a little skeptical about this game before it came out. I had played the demo, but just wasn't sure if it would be "another one of those" games where you walk around and just shoot zombies the entire game over and over. But it's actually pretty sweet. The storyline gets a little cheesy at some points, but it's still a pretty great game. Good graphics, weapons, upgrades, diversity of enemy, etc. The only thing is, it's better if you have a friend to cooperate with in gameplay. You can sync a little better as to what to do, and how to kill the larger beasts.

Not a big gamer like that but this game is fun. Just off the demo alone I will be buying this game. I just started to get back it to video games. I took 6 long years off. But during that time I did play Halo and I thought that game was great. Now that I have a 360 I will be playing more shooting games. I like the fact that this game is different from all of the other shooting games I played in the past. I never played R.E before and I like how it plays. I thought Left 4 Dead was great, I think this might be better.

This game is really good. The only thing I dont like is that you can't run and shoot, but other than that, the game has good graphics and is fun to play on or offline. This is a good game if you like shooting zombies.

Amazing addition to the Resident Evil games!

Ok first thing I gotta say is, NONE OF THE RESIDENT EVIL GAMES HAVE EVER BEEN RUN AND GUN!!! So why start whining about it now?!? I played all the Resident Evil games and they were all the same, STOP AND SHOOT! You guys are waaaay to in love with your Gears of War to give credit to a excellent game. The game is just amazing, always on your toes, even if you think you're safe...BAM! The cinematics are gorgeous! The graphics are just plain amazing...which I think every game should be in this generation anyway so that's pretty much a given. The sound adds to the excitement of the game from every footstep to groans to the explosions and gunfire. The worst thing about the game is single player...your A.I. partner is stupid...just stupid. She won't use her knife until if your lucky, she has no weapons whatsoever. But even at those times she'll just try and run around like a chicken with its head cut off. The best option is to play this game with a friend or even a stranger! But with a friend it is just a fun time that you will play over and over trying to unlock everything and trust me...you'll want to unlock EVERYTHING :) Like I said, the controls are fine, they are not complicated for the average gamer, sure little kids might not get the concept as fast or maybe they will I've seen plenty of kids play better than most of my friends and myself! If you've played the previous Resident Evils and are not comparing this game to a run and gun game like Gears of War, you WILL NOT care about the controls because it is like the previous games. I mean seriously remember Resident Evil for the Playstations controls? Remember there was no analog sticks! Now THAT WAS HARD! I think the length of the game is just right, not too little and not too much. Plus the different difficulties are challenging! What're you doing?!? Go get it now!!!

    Fun Co-op game

I have always loved the resident evil games, of course it gets kind of annoying how you can't move and reload at the same time, but that's Resident Evil for you. This is definetly a co-op game, if you have no friends you should not purchase this game. I believe there is no way to play co-op on a single television so you have to convince your friends to buy the game as well so you can play via the internet.
