I have a love hate relationship with the episodic style. But it works in this series. Also, the return of one of my favorite characters, Barry Burton. A good story, great gameplay mechanics, and an over all polish make it a nice addition to the re series.
Graphics: 8/10
Story: 8/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Online: as i write this no, but its being patched in for raid mode soon.
Replay Value: moderate with raid mode

Being a Resident Evil fan I was very pleased with the story line of the game. RE fans will be happy with the story line and the a great combination of all the recent game mechanics to make this feel new and different. The new tag team systems is fun to use where you switch characters during gameplay and have to solve puzzles with.
The original characters from the series in the past still have some of their iconic items they use and graphics are up to par.
I love how Playstation 4 still uses it's unique controller to relate to the game play! If your life is on danger the LED on the controller turns RED! When your at full health it stays GREEN and yes the speaker on the controller isn't used at much in the game BUT they still use it a little bit. HAVE FUN!

I enjoyed this a lot more than "The Evil Within". The story confused me on my first playthrough, but it was because of a misunderstanding which I was able to correct on my second playthrough. The game seems to try to emulate some aspects of The Last of Us, as I get a bit of an Ellie vibe from the adorable Moira. There are a few satisfying puzzles along the way a la Ico or Prince of Persia or Haunting Ground. The combat is fun except the enemies' heads don't pop off which seemed out of the ordinary. Besides the standard story mode which can be played split screen co-op with a friend, there's another mode where you just try to kill everything in a level called Raid Mode. You can play Raid in splitscreen, and just recently they added online co-op, albeit only with one partner. If you sign up with their free online account you can do community specific missions. You can easily sink hours into this game beyond your first playthrough.

If you enjoyed Revelations 1, you will enjoy Revelations 2, but probably way more. It's deeper, gameplay has been tweaked for the better, and it's even more fun with a friend. Graphics are ok and the campaign could be better, but overall this is a worthy purchase, especially if you're a fan of the older Resident Evil titles. Raid mode alone is worth it.

Coming off of the much success of Resident Evil Revelations, Revelations 2 is trying to feed off of it. Trying to stick with the roots from the first, Revelations 2 have some positives and negatives.
Positives: 1) the mechanics from the game is good. A little bit better than the first, finally are able to run with your character as you couldn't in the first. 2) They brought back Raid Mode which gives you a lot of replay value. 3) They didn't charge you a full price of $60.
Negatives: 1) The cpu is fairly annoying and likes to get in your way at times. 2) Don't really like how you have to pay to keep playing Raid Mode when you completely used up all your gem stones.
Overall Worth: For $40, this game is really fun to play on either way, single campaign/raid mode or co-op on raid mode. Now, you can't play co-op on raid mode yet until end of the month as an update will be provided. But playing the first and know how fun the first one is, I can give you a good opinion on it.
WORTH: $40!

Review by Lucy O'Brien - IGN.com Resident Evil Revelations 2’s pulpy story, occasionally brilliant co-op gameplay, and excellent Raid mode balances out its dull environments and overused enemies. While I would have liked Capcom to have aimed higher, this is a mostly enjoyable horror experience, albeit an unmemorable one.

This is the game worth getting as it comes in 5 chapters that were sold individually. This contains them all and continues the events after resident evil 5 and before 6. This is a real action but horror mixed in on this as well. If you are a fan of resident evil, this one is for you.

The game is fun and the story is intriguing. If you are looking for a CO-OP Campaign though, do not waste your time with this. The CO-OP seems sort of like an after though. If you are a Resident Evil fan, you will definitely enjoy the game.

I own and played all RE games and I think this one is the best. The movement and controls are really smooth. It got back to its roots of survival horror while perfecting what made RE4 the redefining game in the series. This game will give you hundreds of hours of survival horror entertainment.

RE Revelations 2 does something pretty surprising for a modern RE game. It actually tells a compelling story with a cast of very likeable characters, and it isn't afraid to poke fun at itself and the series as a whole, something that some of the more recent entries have shied away from doing. The story does have some ties to older games, and is definitely worth playing the game for. As for the gameplay, I haven't mentioned it yet because it's pretty unremarkable, although that doesn't mean it's bad. It's a very competent Last of Us clone, with a fun and interesting partner switching mechanic that allows to swap between two characters at any time in single-player.
Unfortunately, this is my biggest problem with the game, as the ai partner is quite literally brain dead when you aren't controlling them. Even if you purchase the in game skill that allows ai partners to attack enemies when you aren't controlling them, they will still just stand there and allow themselves to get hit most of the time. This is issue is resolved with co-op play, but that's offline, and split-screen only, which is a horrid oversight on Capcom's part. The game can still be enjoyable in spite of this rather frustrating flaw however, and there is quite a bit of meat to this game as well, including the highly addictive Raid Mode (which DOES have online co-op, bizarrely enough) . Also, the physical version comes with all the DLC on-disc, which definitely makes this the version to get.

I liked Resident Evil Revelations 2 for what it is and that's a lower budget Resident Evil game. For the price you're getting about a 6-8 hour single player campaign along with Raid mode which will keep you busy for weeks. The story was ok but I really like the mechanics of working with 2 characters. The enemy design is by far the weakest part of the game as there are a lot of repeat enemies. The graphics are also not that good along with an inconsistent frame rate. It's also not that scary but most Resident Evil games haven't been that scary for a while. Even with those problems it's still a fun game and worth playing.

This resident evil game is a tribute to the old school resident evil games. Despite lacking the non-stop action and set pieces of the last 2 main resident evil games (5 and 6), this game is still such an amazingly fun and tense experience. Just like the old school resident evils, this game is a masterpiece survival horror game. It has thoughtful level and area designs that require strategic puzzle solving and traversal. The game has an excellent sense of resource economy. The zombies and other enemies are so scary and just like all resident evil games, ready to surprise and terrify you when you least expect it. Again, if you were longing to play a classic style resident evil game, then this is it. If not, you will still enjoy playing this great game.

The original Revelations, was heralded as a return to the classic style most were missing in Resident Evil.
This time the gamer gets a little bit more back story and a return of classic characters (Claire Redfield and Barry Burton), with the co-op aid of new characters Moira Burton and the mysterious Natalia.
I am personally loving this game! My only grip is the episodic format, but it's a very minor issue.
Overall very fun game. Great atmosphere. Interesting story.

The game supports co-op but only with one system. You can't play online with a friend, which is a bummer but still a lot of fun to play. The game of course has a bit of stealth to it at times if you would like to, or go guns blazing which is awesome. While playing you will notice that you will always have 1 AI with you, but usually doesn't like to use a gun. at first your friend will only have a flashlight but can later get a melee weapon to help you take down zombies. Plus each characters can be upgraded with perks to increase damage, speed, etc

The game is true to it's Resident Evil roots with requisite puzzle-solving, spooky places to explore and scary creatures.
The story is actually pretty decent and there are additional episodes that can be purchased separately or through a season pass which has about 4 episodes and other extras. Sometimes the PlayStation store has the season pass on sale and is a good deal that will extend the game considerably.
The game has a co-op feature which I actually liked since it adds more depth to the game and is easy to use. The game will switch between 4 different characters in separate pairs depending on which part of the story you are playing at the time. The collected items can be combined to make other items and upgrades to weapons are also easy to use.
The sound and visuals are pretty good on the PS4 version along with great controls.
This is one of the better Resident Evil games that I've played and enjoyed.

Game graphics are beautiful. The plot detail is a bit lacking. The characters are interesting but the difference between them are astounding. May create some grief during any co-op play. Changes in the upgrades seem to be missing some kind of component to make it fundamentally sucessful. I would say it is good for a fan of the franchise, but not enough to grab potential fans.

First off: I wasn't a huge fan of Resident Evil. I knew little bits and pieces of it, but the storyline the co-op playing, and how well the cutscene were made; All in All i love the game and cannot put it down I wanted to keep playing to see what would happen and (SPOILER ALERT) both endings got me in the feels. It does have its scary moments, but thats what the game has. I recommend at least play it whether you are a fan of the Resident Evil Series or not.
