Customers are enthusiastic about the Door View Cam's ease of use, excellent video quality, and straightforward installation. Many appreciate the added security it provides and the clear wide-angle view. However, some users experienced issues with the motion detection speed and battery life, suggesting improvements could be made in these areas. Overall, the positive feedback on ease of use and video quality outweighs the concerns regarding motion detection and battery performance.

Overall great camera and simple to setup. Sucks this isn’t 4K, but at the same time it doesn’t need it ether. One thing to point out it doesn’t mount flush against the door. Not sure if this is due to the peep hole cut out tho. Also need to be carful with the ribbon connection coming through the pipe if your cut out is a snug fit you can break that ribbon.

Installation was a breeze, maybe 10 minutes total. Setup was simple. The battery took forever to charge but no complaints other that that. So far it is working exactly as expected. We’ve already had a kid walk up and walk away once they saw the camera. I also like that this model is secured through the door and the battery is inside where it can stay warm and work properly.

The instructions are super easy, and I was able to install it within minutes. It comes with all the tools necessary to remove the original door peep hole. You MUST charge the battery until it's fully charged before the first use, which is extremely important. However, it did take roughly 11-12 hours to become fully charged. You'll need to download the ring app on your smart phone to avtivate it. There's a setting called "motion sense", it senses when someone is close in vicinity to the door, which alarms you with a notification. The sound and voice is clear enough, however, the quality is not the best. The video quality is excellent, clear with little to no delays. We've had this for a little over a month now, and the battery is still at 100%. My wife and I love this thing, highly recommended!

Installation was easy, my door in particular didn't had a peephole, so i just grabbed the 1/2" drill bit and drilled out a hole where i wanted. I put the camera togueter first so i could see exactly what i was going to see in the app. I wanted this model because people knock doors first and i wanted to have the battery inside the condo. Resolution is pretty decent and it responds fast.

having bought a few peephole cameras that failed, I came across this in Best Buy and it's been the greatest purchase I've made in a long time. This is a 10/10 security door peephole camera. The accuracy of motion detection, notification on your device, picture, sound and video quality is execptionally on the highest level. I love this peace of mind device for my home.

I can't begin to describe how great this product is when you have kids coming and going from the house. It's nice to be able to see them sneak in at all hours of the night only to get that little notice that says your delinquent has finally arrived. I find it best to take the screenshot of their silly "sneaky" face and then share it on social media as their punishment. Some of the kids have wised up and now wear clown masks when approaching the door. It's pretty funny.

I live in an area where there’s a lot of people comes by so I thought I would try it out and I absolutely love it! It lets me know through my phone if someone walks by or if someone knocks on the door and it records for me. More awesome that you get to speak with them while they’re outside! Super amazing! Iove it.

Overall I recommend this product, being a renter this great way to get Ring without permanently damaging my apartment. Installation was a breeze , 10 minutes to install and set up. Video quality is excellent although the view could be a little wider towards the ground to see if packages are sitting on there. My two biggest complaints are the battery should charge over USB-C not micro and that fact it is missing support for Apple HomeKit. Overall I would still recommend this doorbell for its ingenious installation and ease-of-use.

I live in an apartment and have been waiting for months for the Door View Cam to come out since it appeared at CES. While it is easy to setup, be careful when you apply the strip connector or you will tear it (probably one of the reasons they supply you with 2 in the box). I live on a bottom level, so only people that need to come near my apartment do. However, I can see where a problem might lie if you live in on an apartment floor with heavy congestion near your door (I really don't think adjusting your view using their app will help that much and might actually not benefit you security wise). Right now i'm only giving it 3 stars due to issues connecting Alexa on it in order to see who's at my door on my tv (Alexa keeps asking me to remove the skill and re-apply it, which I have repeatedly to no avail). Also, RING only gives you 1 month of RING connect with the Door View Cam, while some of their other doorbells and models give you one year free. All in all it's a great product to have if you need security or have issues with Amazon just dropping packages at your apartment door without knocking (lol).

I think this camera is great. The video is clear and I can see people. It’s sensitive to all motion in it’s range. My only qualm is the amount of time it takes the video to load in the app. I also use Arlo cameras indoors and those videos are available for me to view immediately. The doorview part of this camera works great and functions like a normal peephole. This will work great for seeing who is at your door which is what I needed. I installed this camera for safety reasons. This camera will not be able to keep an eye on packages dropped off at your door. You should be able to see who brings them to your door or walks off with them because of the motion detection, but you will not be able to see the ground immediately in front or to either side of your door. For my purposes, this is perfect and just what I was looking for. It was simple enough to install and will be easy to take down and move which is great for renting. I would purchase this again.

The door view camera is exceptional. It does what it is supposed to do, look thru the peephole not at the doormat or for packages on the doormat. If you want to look at your doormat then install cameras facing your doorway like I did. This helps add a face to what I see on the other camera facing the door. Great quality live view and excellent notifications.

We purchased the doorbell in September 2019. I wanted to let some months go by so that I can get a good understanding and a good or bad review with time. Well, this doorbell this far has not disappointed me. I love it so much that I actually recently purchased this for a family member. I love how within 2-5 miles you can received notifications within your community of any suspicious activities, missing dogs, vandalism or etc. I also have it connected/sync to my Alexa products and I love how the two are compatible with each other. I don’t really have enough time or space to really capture all the positive thing to say about this doorbell. This is so much better than my prior doorbell service that I had to pay monthly on. Not to mention the easy set up and use. I definitely recommend this doorbell to anyone who needs one or looking to ditch one they are paying monthly on.

Simple to install. Just unscrew your peephole and replace it with this. It's connected through the door, making theft that much more difficult. I also like that it looks straight out of the door and down the walkway to the door. Great product.

I wanted to get a security camera for the front of the house so that I can monitor who is at the front door and answer when I'm away. The ease of installation and no mounting required made this particular camera the one best suited for me as I did not want to cause any damage to the exterior of the house nor do I have an existing doorbell for power. The quality of the video feed is more than sufficient for my purposes and the added HDR feature is a nice touch. I'm still testing out the product as I've only installed it earlier this week, but I am satisfied with this product.

The Ring device works great! Excellent features...easy to install. The battery is good for about a week. This doesn’t work for us as we are retired and travel for 2-3 weeks at a time. It could be that we aren’t using it to maximize battery life as we have a cabin in the mountains and my wife monitors it constantly to look at the forest animals. In general, very pleased with the product. Recommended...!

Love this product! The doorbell (for peephole) was so easy to install. The instructions and video made installation a breeze! Pros: easy install, great view of who is at your door, 2 way/talk, and runs on batteries. Cons are: I wish the speaker system was better needs to be louder, camera is good. Overall, I would truly buy this again as it is a terrific.

Got the new Door View Cam and installed. Motion detection is active and what good is having it when it doesn’t pick up to capture someone walking up to my door until after they’re already turned to walk away!! And I got the excuse of it being mounted in a “darker area with a bright source of light in the field of view” (the sun) The contrast between the bright and dark areas cause the device to adjust to a lower blah blah blah, the motion will be detected once you are in a area part which is darker. “If your Ring is in a darker area, such as a walled walkway or covered/recessed porch, with a bright sunlit area outside...due to too much exposure, it may detects late motion” is the answer I got for why motion isn’t picked up when it should be. Cars, school bus and trash truck going by on the street is picked up, but not someone walking up my walkway towards my door!! Three times, plus times tested my me, delivery persons were able to walk up, place my package at my door and only footage I got was them walking off!Seriously?! And I was told that, “basically, you’re doorbell works just fine; however, due to too much exposure, it may detects late motion.” THAT’S NOT WORKING JUST FINE!! I’m reconsidering the expenditure of my $200. Bottom line is the Ring door cam is flawed in design, was informed the door view cam is limited to where the peephole is located, if it was “a bit lower” it would pick up motion sooner as someone approaches my door. I was advised that if I drew an imaginary line horizontally across the middle of the video that is where the motion sensors are looking for the change in heat signatures to pick up motion. It’s a standard door with standard peephole location! Doesn’t make sense to me when motion from the street is picked up, but whatever. I see it as a design flaw. It was built for a peephole, that should have been a consideration when it was designed! The recommendation was to change it for the Ring Video Doorbell 2 if I was still within my return window, it having more more flexibility with the mounting location and the angle can be adjusted with a Wedge Kit (aka additional money needing to be spent). Bottom line, this particular product in the Ring lineup? Not a good selection. Disappointed. I intend to return this.

If you follow the instructions, you should have no problem. Don't rush through it because there is a ribbon you have to stretch out a little bit and you have to be careful not to damage it in the process, otherwise you will have connection problems. Other than that, you will really enjoy the service this provides. You might want to grab an extra battery too. my ring doorbell battery lasted a month before I had to recharge it. I have people walking by all the time so it alerts me of motion a bit more than average, which might take up more battery life than normal. Great product and I definitely recommend it.
