All my other cameras don’t require a subscription, including Arlo, Nest, and ADT. If I could still return these I would because it’s ridiculous they make you buy a subscription to view the past activity

The Best Buy sales person neglected to inform me of this issue. If you ever want to take it down you would have an expensive hole to repair. When the Geek Squad came to install it I declined the installation.

Now, the replacement has been delivered and till date, i couldn't get best buy to send a technician to install it. Help!!!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to reach out regarding installation assistance with your device. If you are inexperienced working with electricity, we strongly encourage using a licensed electrician to do this work. Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work, as permits and/or professional installation may be required by law. Your Floodlight Camera must be installed on a 4“ round UL listed weatherproof electrical box.
Ring security cameras are intended to be a fairly simple, do-it-yourself installation process. Should you need assistance with the physical installation portion of your install Ring does partner with OnTech. Here is information regarding their services: https://shop.ring.com/pages/install-my-ring.

I called Ring help after reseting my network. They checked it and are sending me a new one. I will review it again once the new one is installed.

I added it to my Ring Doorbell and Stick Up cam network and have zero complaints. I did buy a Netgear wifi extender to put in my garage to get maximum signal to the floodlight. I tried the Ring wifi extender but was not strong enough. The zone setting for the motion works great and we doesn't pick up any extra movement. I have it only set to pick up whats coming down the driveway and so far it has not went off for cars simply driving down the street. I installed in minutes. This might be the best Ring product yet.

We strive to deliver quality devices that will serve you in the long run, as we understand that you will be relying on them for your home security. We'd like to provide you with some tips/tricks to resolve the concern you mentioned in your review.
There are three possible reasons why your light isn't lighting up:
*You're keeping the button pressed too long. Ensure that you are pressing the button firmly and releasing it immediately without holding it down. Holding the button down performs a different function.
*Your Floodlight Cam isn't receiving sufficient power.
*Your Floodlight Cam is wired incorrectly. To correctly wire your device, refer to Installing Your Ring Floodlight Cam or consult a qualified electrician.
If the light on your Floodlight Cam does not light up and flash and your Floodlight Cam is wired correctly and is receiving power, you can try performing a hard reset. To perform a hard reset:
*Hold down the top button for a full 30 seconds.
*After releasing it, the light on the bottom should flash a few times, indicating that your Floodlight Cam is restarting.
*Give it about a minute to fully complete this process, then try putting it in setup mode again by briefly pushing and releasing the top button.

I am sorry to hear about this less than excellent Ring experience. Our optional Protect Plan allows you to access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to Live View.

Let me also say that I was not told to open the boxes before the installers arrived and to charge the batteries. They are going to be a beast to get down and then reposition. Not happy about that either.
