Best Buy was great, but unfortunately I found Ring customer service to be completely frustrating and uninformative with their own products. The customer service agent from Ring actually told me their products had compatibility issues with Netgear and Linksys. Horrible lag time and frequent black screen display while attempting to access live feed or alerts led me to return all 6 units I bought for my home. Keep in mind I used 3 different premium routers solutions with highest level of cable internet so modem/router equipment was NOT the issue. I did like the flood light concept, but ultimately went with Arlo Pro 2 with traditional motion flood lights. Steer clear of Ring.

Great camera has very good field of view. Easy to set up

I purchased this nearly three years and never had a problem. Easily installed on existing floodlight mount and hardwire. Easy setup with the rest of my ring system. It does exactly as advertised. Well worth the money

We were a little hesitant to spend this amount of money after reading some negative reviews. So glad we took the plunge because we couldn’t be happier! Set up was a breeze using the app and the picture quality is incredibly good! Zero problems whatsoever and will most likely buy a second one.

I have the Ring Doorbell Pro and it works flawlessly. It is also on my 5Ghz wifi. The Flood light works well but there is are a few ongoing issues. 1.) The video, even with perfect network connection is choppy 2.) It can only be on 2.4Ghz wifi 3.) I have had to reset it about 4 times because it has changed to an "offline" state The devices does work well, but it isnt always as responsive as it needs to be, video tends to be grainy and pixilated. Sometimes it will be flawless and others time i have to struggle to get connected to it. Once they work the bugs out and it can be on the 5Ghz wifi, i think the issues will be resolved. Until then, save your money or wait for it to go on sale.

They say object and facial recognition, it does not, after call to ring there is no facial recognition. 1080p is bogus, maybe a jerky 480, not smooth (i have a good wireless readin over 100mgps at the camera. \You won't talk to anyone as speaker volume is almost non-existant. everything else seems to work ok, I will probably return this unless they come out with better software to correct these problems, I believe this is another product rushed to market and put out before it was ready, software not up to date for win10 and not everything works. the install was ez which is one of the reasons i purchased.

I've been involved with Ring products for quite some time as a client. These are my own impressions. I recently replaced a Ring floodlight that had gone dark on me. In all fairness, Ring did replace the floodlight at no charge, but in my own defense...it was quite a struggle. They said it was me...I said it was them...blah...blah...In the end, the new floodlight works better than the original, which was glitchy from day one. I also put a UPS on my equipment, which I think has helped. I also have a Stick-Up Cam (not so good, 5 out of 10) and a Ring Pro (OK, 6 out of ten, but latency is a definite issue). All in all I have a rating for 7 out of ten for the floodlight, but if you get into Ring, be aware that if you need instantaneous assistance from Ring Customer Service or Ring products, you'll most likely be disappointed. I would and do recommend Ring as an on-demand surveillance tool, but NOT as a security tool.

Overall, great security light and camera. Definitely recommend it. Unless you like climbing ladders, I would suggest you NOT buy this product. Every time you lose wifi or power, you have to get to the product (mine is 20' up a chimney) and reset manually. It will NOT reset automatically, in spite of the Q&A's that indicate it will. The RIng company confirmed that. They would not exchange the product. Their solution was to spend another $200 (plus installation) for the spotlight cam. When I asked if it would reset itself, they read from the web site Q&A's that it would .... the exact same as the floodlight cam which they confirmed would NOT. I told them I didn't trust their web site and would not blindly sink another $200 plus installation costs. I asked if they could ask the technical group, the ones that make the product. They said they would know ...... but get this......the person I was talking to said neither she nor I had access to them. Sounds like they just want to make another $200 sale on product that won't do what they say it will.

So far we are liking our Spotlight Cam. Wasn't hard to install. Works exactly as expected. Only done side is the not really being compatible with Google Home.

I wanted to like this product but now I wish. I didn't buy it now. My wifi is in good standing.I have Netgear Orbi mesh system. My download speed is in the two hundred. Other words it works when it wants too. Like before I regret purchasing it.

I really like the system. Fortunately, we have not had any intrusion from people and it is interesting to see the wildlife that visit in the middle of the night (I may have to turn down the sensitivity, but for now it is fun watching.) My only complain is that the night recordings are in infrared even though the floodlight is on and full color is available. There is a hack available so I know the Ring team can change the software so it records in color at night. I am hoping for an update soon. Five stars when that happens.

BEFORE YOU BUY: The camera and motion for security are on separate system than motion and day/night detector for the floods. The day/night detection sensor for the floods was a big issue in our case. A car coming up the driveway can trigger the motion for security and alert your phone, but the headlights may fool the day/night settings into thinking it is still daytime outside and thus does not trigger floods. So if you are looking for lights to come on when a car pulls into your driveway when the sun goes down (as 99.9% of motion lights are capable of), this may be problematic. The floods may not come on until you douse your headlights and get out of the car. Customer support was great but confirmed this was our issue and had no fixes at time of this review. So 2 stars because the camera and motion zoning were spot on, but a deduction of 3 because it couldn't do what the much cheaper light it replaced could.

Worse purchase I have made in a long time. Stopped working a week after I purchased (camera still works, but lights now only flicker when the unit senses motion instead of providing light). RING is aware of the design flaw that seems to be a reoccurring issue. Now I have to hire an electrician to come out and remove so I can return. I have reached out to Ring for a solution and they basically told me they are waiting to fix the design flaw with no ETA on a solution. They will not send me a new unit and pay for an electrician of their choosing to reinstall as requested. For now my neighbor is upset as all night the light flickers right in their window. I wouldn't wish this product or their response to the issue on my worst enemy.

The Ring floodlight cam is a bit persnickety to connect the first time, but once it is up and running, it works as advertised... E X C E P T... if you are buying it to watch over your vacation home, be prepared to loose contact with it if there is even a short power outage. It doesn't reconnect to your WiFi network automatically and requires you to be standing next to it to reset it to enable a re-connection...rendering it worthless if you are across the country when the outage occurs. Would have been nice to know that.

I feel more relaxed with this product when I'm away from home, you can monitor what's going on. The speakers when you talk into it sounds great no interference at all. It's so worth the price keeps my family safe at home 24/7..

I bought two of these units and had both wired by an electrician. The one on the front of the house connected to WiFi and I got a good picture. The lights were on virtually all the time at night. I reduced motion sensitivity as far as I could, but the lights kept going on and off all night. I'm sure the neighbors wondered what was going on! The second unit was installed in the back yard, but I could never get it to go into setup mode. Thus it never connected. I removed both and returned them to Best Buy for refund.
